To me, this is their best work. It has the "truest" power metal sound, and I think the ballads, Letter to Dana and Replica, are among their best. The album has a nice balance and song variety, while still delivering plenty of speed, keyboard, and great harmonization.
Sonata Arctica is my favorite band! Ecliptica is the best, though it can be compared with Silence. Best songs: Mary Lou, Letter to Dana, FullMoon, and Picturing the Past. Other great songs: San Sebastian, Shy, and End of This Chapter.
FullMoon is my favorite Sonata Arctica song.
Bought this album and saw it live in concert. I'm on the Reckoning Night team for best Sonata Arctica album. It's completely listenable, and that ship goes quite far!
Epic album. Truly a masterpiece.
Why is this album ranked so low? Do people just not listen to it? Silence belongs up there with Ecliptica and Reckoning Night.
I enjoy nearly every song on this album. I'm not a big fan of power metal, but this album is an exception.
Underrated and unique.
