Top Ten Reasons Why Old Nickelodeon is Better Than Modern Nickelodeon

The Top Ten
1 Better shows

I was born in 2005, but still grew up with the shows of Nickelodeon's golden age (and the iconic splat, of course). Once Nickelodeon changed its logo and shows, I realized that they had lost their appeal, because their modern shows have no appeal whatsoever!
They just don't have the spirit of the golden age nowadays. Shows like SpongeBob, Rugrats, Hey Arnold! and The Wild Thornberrys will always be remembered, whereas newer shows come and go, only to be forgotten once they end airing!

Some examples were Legends of the Hidden Temple, Catdog, Rugrats, Ren And Stimpy, and old SpongeBob. Today, it's crap like Breadwinners or Sanjay And Craig.

Horrible sitcoms. Old Nickelodeon had Kenan & Kel and Drake & Josh which were actually funny while nowadays they have Game Shakers which isn't funny

2 More appropriate content

Modern Nick is actually more appropriate.
They won't get away with Rocko being a certain kind of phone operator or Granpa Pickles having his "favorite movie" being shown "after bedtime". these days.

Sanjay and Craig, Breadwinners, and PGBC were disturbing, not even I liked them that much as a kid.

And controversial (Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life)

3 There was Nick GAS

And they literally screwed it up. Plus we had Ariana Grande once on Nickelodeon. Disney is better than Nickelodeon, even though it sometimes welcomes Ariana Grande to make my ear bleed big time.

Why can't they bring back Double Dare? They brought back Figure It Out.

Now they joke about gas. I miss old nick

4 Better educational programming

Back in the 80's, Nickelodeon aired high-quality educational documentaries. In the 90's and 00's, at least Nick Jr. had highly educational shows. Nowadays, not even the Nick Jr. shows seem to be educational. This is what I have observed at least. - anonygirl

Blues Clues was a crap show, but at least they didn't have Dora The Explorer at the time.

Well this "educational crap" shaped the childhood of millions

5 It was actually creative

You choose. CatDog and Doug or Sanjay and Craig and Breadwinners. Choose wisely or immediate death (not really)

Now they're just running outta ideas.

6 Less Nick Jr.

No variety of shows

7 Better humor
8 Patrick wasn't such a jerk

Only in Seasons 4 - 9. In Seasons 10 and above, Patrick wasn't quite a jerk.

He improved himself in seasons 9B and above.

Hey Hey spongebob

9 More variety
10 More mature
The Contenders
11 Squidward wasn't tortured as much

That's actually true, I guess

12 Better movies
13 No Kids Choice Awards

There were but they were way better

14 Better logo

The new logo is just too boring for a channel like Nickelodeon!
The old splat logo represents what Nickelodeon should be. It represents the childhood innocence and carefree, whereas the new logo is just a flat word with no heart whatsoever!

15 More timeless

Its trendy to say Old Nickelodeon is better than nowadays. You feel cool, trendy and edgy to hate everything.

So true. That goes with any other channels like Cartoon Network also

16 Better Nick Jr. shows
17 Better sitcoms

All the Dan Schneider shows like Victorious, Drake and Josh, iCarly, the old All that, and more were good, SpongeBob was also good until Stephen Hillenburg died on November 26th, 2018, they shouldn't have continued without him

18 No Loud House
