Top 10 Things We Want Most in Pokemon Sun and Moon
From datamining, the actually planned to have Pokemon following you. However with Pokemon Sun and Moon already exceeding the limits of the 3DS, having 3D models of over 700 Pokemon following you would be impossible.

They did not add this feature, but they added Pokemon you can ride, like Lapras.

I am so disappointed in Nintendo.
Unfortunately, we didn't get that. But instead, we got something even better. The Poke Rider. Hasta la vista, HMs!
Update: Unfortunately, they don't seem to plan to present any new Mega Evolution Pokemon as they want to focus primarily on the Z-Move mechanic. So I guess we won't be seeing Mega Flygon soon. Bummer.
They were working on it for oras but "couldn't finish the design in time".
I was disappointed they didn't have one for Flygon in ORAS!
That will be so awesome! In a fake pokemon game called Pokemon Brick Bronze (in Roblox) that has a dark gym. In the dark gym basically you and all the trainers and puzzles and gym leaders, even the pokemon in the battle scene, are silhouettes. I would love to see that in a real game! Though Sun/Moon is out already, I wish it will be in future games...
They never had a Dark-Type Gym Leader? I wonder how the Gym Leader would look like if it was a male or female.
They should make the Dark-Type Gym Leader look like someone from the Nohr side of Fire Emblem Fates or something.
You could do this in pretty much any game by trading...

Yes we need more customization for our characters, I want to really turn myself into a Pokemon trainer. And to give more options for girls that don't like frilly stuff or dresses.

I've heard rumors about there being the possibility of being able to travel to the Kanto region in Pokemon Sun and Moon! So could it be possible that Pokemon fans will be able to travel to two regions in the same game since Generation II?
I don't think the 3DS would be able to handle that much data. If anything, there might be Kalos at least.

Surprisingly, we can't sit on anything in Pokemon Sun and Moon.

Thankfully, all the Island Kahunas have Pokemon with Z-Crystals. Also, there are REGULAR Trainers that actually have Pokemon with Z-Crystals as well. Honestly, I'm starting to like Z-Moves better than Mega Evolution.
Come on! Korrina was the only Gym Leader with a Mega Evolution! I wanted all the Kalos Gym Leaders to have Mega Evolutions as well! They didn't even have any in Hoenn! I am hoping they capitalize more on Mega Evolutions for all Gym Leaders in the next region.
Gym leaders need to be tougher and seem more masterful with their type.

They didn't just make them a nonessential part of the game. They completely replaced it with Poke Rider, which is indeed a great pro to Gen VII.
I hate HMs. Can't we just replace them with items or something?
If this was possible, I wouldn't want it to be confusing as hell. Plus, it would be cool to not require items to get them.
This shouldn't be difficult. You bring back the game corner, but instead of gambling machines, you have something out of an arcade. Take some ideas from Super Mario 64's minigames. I don't care! This can work without any cease and desist from another continent.
Come on! It is an island themed Region, so why not have a dolphin? It'd be very cute. I mean, they made a flicking wreath so why can't they do a dolphin. Whether or not we get a dolphin, I'm still getting this game. It looks amazing.
