Top 10 Psychedelic Rock Albums

The Top Ten

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd

Yup better than Sgt Peppers - christangrant

Outsideinside - Blue Cheer
New! Improved! - Blue Cheer
Live and Unreleased 2 - Blue Cheer
Live and Unreleased 68/74 - Blue Cheer
Vincebus Eruptum - Blue Cheer

This album or Outsideinside by Blue Cheer should be number one. Blue Cheer is harder than any artist that is not Heavy metal or influence by Heavy metal. Blue Cheer is not just some Rock artist that just rocks like other Rock artists do. Blue Cheer very fuzzy and distortion. Rock is harder than any type of music and Rock was made to Rock more yet you would tell me there are Hard rock artists better than Blue Cheer! Blue Cheer have the feel of Jimi Hendrix, Cream, The Who and The Rolling Stones. If those artists are better than any Hard rock artist than so is Blue Cheer. - BlueFuse

Are You Experienced - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Disraeli Gears - Cream
The Doors - The Doors
Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix

The Contenders

A Saucerful of Secrets - Pink Floyd
Axis: Bold as Love - Jimi Hendrix
Forever Changes - Love
Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys

This sounds nothing like Psychedelic rock. It sounds just like their other albums that is after this album and those albums are not Psychedelic rock. The Beatles Revolver was the first Psychedelic rock album. Now that album and Jimi Hendrix Are You Experienced is what I call Psychedelic rock. The Beatles Revolver was part Pop rock too since it does not sound like straight Psychedelic rock like other albums. - BlueFuse

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly
Surrealistic Pillow - Jefferson Airplane
Revolver - The Beatles
The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground
Innerspeaker - Tame Impala

Tame Impala is really not Psychedelic rock but Neo psychedelic. If you really listen to some 80s, or 90s Neo Psychedelic artists of some of their songs it would sound like this. You may be thinking but Neo Psychedelic is part of Alternative rock and this does not sound like Alternative rock. That is true. If you really listen to Tame Impala it is more Alternative rock than Rock. It still has the feel like of R.E.M a little bit. Tame Impala is different than your other Rock artists. Early New wave of British heavy metal you may not say is not Metal when compare to today’s Metal but it still has that Metal feel just like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest did if you really think about it. - BlueFuse

More - Pink Floyd
Maggot Brain - Funkadelic
Ummagumma - Pink Floyd
Younger Than Yesterday - The Byrds

This sounds nothing like an album that is part Psychedelic Rock. This album is Folk rock and not part Psychedelic rock just like their other early albums and The Beatles Rubber Soul are not part Psychedelic rock. - BlueFuse

Fresh Cream - Cream
Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles
Cream - Fresh Cream
Motive - Blue Cheer
Slippery When Wet - Bon Jovi
De Capo - Love
Crown of Creation - Jefferson Airplane
Their Satanic Majesties Request - The Rolling Stones
Tago Mago - Can
Monster Movie - Can
Heavy - Iron Butterfly
