1 McDonald's McDonald's is an American fast food company, founded in 1940 as a restaurant operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald in San Bernardino, California, United States. They rechristened their business as a hamburger stand... read more

I live in Vietnam and yes this is absolute trash and they gave me my order WRONG! There was no available line, so I had this guy who looked fresh out of high school. I asked for a large drink and he gave me a small one! The chicken nuggets were cold and were fake meat. I can't believe this garbage came in 2014 and when I was literally needing something to eat, I had to go there. I asked for no mustard on my burger and I literally got mustard! I complained to the manager and he did nothing about it and just took a napkin and wiped it off. When I got coffee, it tasted like soda water. Then, I asked for a new one and it was in worse condition with no mustard. I bet this is how McDonalds is run over the world! Eat at Popeyes, Jollibee, or maybe sometimes Burger King instead.

2 Taco Bell Taco Bell is an American chain of fast food restaurants based out of Irvine, California and a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc. The restaurants serve a variety of Tex-Mex foods that include tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, novelty and specialty items, and a variety of "value menu" items. As of 2018,... read more

You must understand how unnutritious Taco Bell is. Despite the miminal satisfaction acquired through mediocre taste, the food is loaded with nothing but empty calories and fats. The food provides little to no nutrients, while exceeding all of your fat, trans fat, salt, and caloric values for the day. So essentially, every time you eat Taco Bell, you are gaining weight, while still being left significantly nutrient deficient. Taco Bell also enhances their food with certain controversial oils, that have been found to be very addictive, leaving you to crave the food constantly. I had a friend who could not stop eating Taco Bell, and I watched as his health completely deteriorated. He could not get himself to stop eating there, even though he wanted to so badly. I did extensive research on the chain and their ingredients in an attempt to help him. After learning what I know now, I say to you this, please head my warning. This chain does not have your best interest in mind. They care only to make money and keep you coming back to give them that money. Don't fall into the corporate trap and learn healthy alternatives. Their food is a scam and of the lowest quality possible.

3 KFC KFC, until 1991 known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is an American fast food restaurant chain that specializes in fried chicken. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, it is the world's second-largest restaurant chain (as measured by sales) after McDonald's, with almost 20,000 locations globally in 123... read more

I don't eat KFC, but I have one near me that is REALLY bad. So one time I went to get a BBQ chicken sandwich through the drive-thru. It took a REALLY long time to even get to order. Then we had to wait eons to finally get the sandwich. And then, when I bit into the sandwich, I didn't taste BBQ, I tasted spice. It turned out they got my order wrong and gave me a Nashville Hot sandwich instead. The thing is, how was I supposed to tell the difference? The BBQ chicken and the Nashville Hot look identical. And, instead of getting Nashville Hot chicken, my other family members got BBQ! This isn't the first time it's happened. In fact, it's the millionth. This KFC is a mix with Taco Bell, and they always get stuff wrong on the Taco Bell side too! It's happened almost every time. Whoever's managing that place right now should be fired.

4 Jack In The Box Jack in the Box is an American fast-food restaurant chain founded February 21, 1951, by Robert O. Peterson in San Diego, California, where it is headquartered.

I am from Vancouver, Canada, and in Canada we don't have Jack in the Box. During our recent trip to Seattle, we thought we would try Jack in the Box! We were super excited. We tried it.. Were super disappointed. Okay, bad quality food, that is understandable. But the worst...? The next morning. We couldn't sleep all night, had the grossest, stinkiest gas, and could not get off the toilet the next day. Maybe it was just a shock to our bodies, but honestly, Vancouver has much better quality food. We were extremely disappointed. First and Last experience with JAck in the box. I'd rather eat mcdonalds everyday than try Jack in the Box again.

5 Burger King Burger King (BK) is an American global chain of hamburger fast food restaurants. Headquartered in the unincorporated area of Miami-Dade County, Florida, the company was founded in 1953 as InstaBurger King, a Jacksonville, Florida-based restaurant chain. After Insta-Burger King ran into financial difficulties... read more

I travel a lot for work and, consequently, eat a lot of fast food unfortunately. Every time I have driven thru ANY Burger King drive-thru in ANY town for the last five years, there is ALWAYS a problem. They are out of tomatoes. They haven't started brewing tea yet today. They cannot accept credit cards today--cash only. There will be a 15-min wait on fries. The list goes on and on. On top of that, they put way too many condiments on their burgers. How much mayo does a burger actually need?

All fast food is bad, in my opinion, but Burger king is absolute garbage. I feel like people think it's a "healthier" or "better" choice than McDonalds, even though it is equally as bad or maybe even worse for you. First off, their burgers taste like crusty, old sludge (at times overcooked to a degree), and the fries are just bad, at least at McDonalds the fries are somewhat decent, but at BK, the fries just taste like they're days old. While fast food SHOULD be avoided as a whole, BK is the place to never consider.

6 White Castle

Has anyone ever heard of White Castle?!?! Probably because not a lot of people try it, it's not as popular as the above seven... There's a reason for that... White Castle is the most stomach-churning, grossest food I've ever had the misfortune of stuffing in my mouth... Imagine the world's tiniest burger patty with two greasy, slimy and soggy buns pressed up against it. Then they feel the need to overload it with lettuce and mustard. McDonald's placement is absolutely ridiculous. Probably only rich people who feel like anything over 500 calories is repulsive voted for that. McDonalds is actually cheap, and although their food may not be the healthiest, it's delicious! Are people only voting for what's worth of the calories and health, without taking into account for how good the food tastes?

7 Arby's Arby's is the second-largest quick-service fast-food sandwich restaurant chain in America in terms of units with more than 3,300 restaurants system wide and third in terms of revenue. In October 2017, Food & Wine called Arby's "America's second largest sandwich chain (after Subway)".

They have the worst philly cheesesteak on earth. Bread was just soft and untoasted, not much cheese and it has no taste. Ordered some onion rings and only got 3 small pieces of crap. Roast beef sandwiches are crap sauce is horrible. This is not a fast food place. It's a hazardous landfill. Floor was so dirty, workers can't understand your order, a dirty, disgusting, wretched fast food place.

Currently employed for 4 years. All of the food is processed. If you get chicken products ask for fresh chicken because all's the chicken does is sit there with a timer of 15 minutes and people just sit there and reset it with out making new ones. And the brisket is really smoked for 13 hours but we don't do it, they send it to us frozen and all's we do is cut it and put it in the microwave for like 25 secs. And the back kitchen they never put lids over the products and the microwaves are right above the cold well and when they clean out them out all the dried up crumbs and sanitizer water fall into the pans with all the meats and vegtables below. And the cold well when they don't keep lids over the products they get really dry and nasty.

8 Domino's Pizza Domino’s Pizza, Inc. is an American pizza restaurant chain founded in 1960. The corporation is headquartered at the Domino's Farms Office Park in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In February 2018, the chain became the largest pizza seller worldwide and in the United States based upon global retail sales.

Most beautiful pizza I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Not a huge fan of the staff here in Michigan, but they sure know how to make a god-darn lava cake taste spectacular... I can't eat anything right now due to throwing-up and all that fun stuff, but if there was a dominoe's pizza in front of me right now, I would actually eat it!

One time I ordered a plain cheese pizza from here with my family. No one else was in the restaurant but me and my family at the moment. Guess what they give us? A plain cheese pizza covered with grease! Seriously, there was a pool of grease on the top middle, it was all over the pizza and made the pizza soggy!

9 Little Caesars Little Caesars is an international fast-food chain specializing in pizza, founded in 1959. Known for its "Hot-N-Ready" pizzas, the company aims to offer quick and affordable meal options. With thousands of locations worldwide, it is one of the largest pizza chains in terms of sales. The brand is also... read more

Their pretzel crust pizza makes me want to crucify myself and their pizza is basically cardboard and sauce like that one spongebob episode where Mr. Krabs is really cheap for pearls birthday.

I personally disagree. The Pizza is really good, and one of the best parts is the $5 Pizza Deal. But everyone has opinions, if you hate it, then fine, nothing against that.

I was staying at my great grandma's house and my grandma brought little Caesar's pizza. It's was disgusting it used to be good and juicy but it was so dry and flat and the crust was cardboard so ya I was disappointed even he said it was gross

10 Pizza Hut Pizza Hut is an American restaurant chain and international franchise which was founded in 1958 by Dan and Frank Carney.

Awful. I went there one time and got a stuffed crust pizza with pepperoni and shared it with my brother. My dad got a boneless wing sandwich with bleu cheese. His sandwich only has a shred of lettuce on it, no bleu cheese, and tasted awful. Our pizza made me so violently ill that I was in the bathroom (a stupidly dirty one by the way) and threw up for 20 minutes, and I missed school for 2 days! In the end they only gave us a $5 discount for "inconvenience". It was a big part of my childhood, but I'll never eat there again.

The Contenders
11 Quiznos QIP Holder, LLC, doing business as Quiznos, is a franchised fast-food restaurant brand based in Denver, Colorado that specializes in offering toasted submarine sandwiches.

I wouldn't say Quiznos is the worst, but it's not worth even going there when you have a Publix near you.

Even worse than Subway, and I hate Subway!

The sponge monkeys are annoying and give me a severe case of cringe

12 Chick-fil-A Chick-fil-A is an American fast food restaurant chain headquartered in the city of College Park, Georgia, specializing in chicken sandwiches. Founded in May 1946, it operates more than 2,200 restaurants, primarily in the United States. The restaurant serves breakfast before transitioning to its lunch... read more

This place should be number one. The food is mediocre but the owner and the people who work there are homophobic morons who can't tolerate people different from them. I used to eat there all the time, then they had a day where they refused to serve gay or lesbian people. I no longer patronize there. I hope the owner of the franchise dies in a slow painful way.

Worst place on the face of the earth. All the money they make goes to anti-gay and lesbian organizations. The service is terrible and the food is just disgusting. If that's not enough, I found a beetle in my chicken. I hate chick fa lay so much. The man who owns the while franchise is an horrible person. He should die. All are made equal.

13 Hardee's

Their commercials are sexually wrong and are trying way too hard to get people to eat their burgers. Besides whatever happened to hot dogs like it was supposed to be like?

I haven't had anything better than Hardee's but Burger King. Don't know why it is here. Fries are better than Arby's and Jack in the Box's curly fries.

I got food poisoned after eating at Hardees. Their lettuce looked sick and the chicken was kind of hard. I will never eat there again.

14 Five Guys Burgers and Fries Five Guys Enterprises LLC (doing business as Five Guys Burgers and Fries) is an American fast casual restaurant chain focused on hamburgers, hot dogs, and French fries, and headquartered in Lorton, Virginia, an unincorporated part of Fairfax County. The first Five Guys restaurant opened in 1986 in Arlington... read more

Are you kidding me! Five guys one of the top 20s on TheTopTens and It's one of the greatest fast food restaurants of all time? Their fires are deliciously and one of the best tasting fast food fries that I tried. The burger are like fast food heaven that It's made out of real meat. They never got my order wrong at five guys and their service is good. The only bad reasons that I hate five guys that their food is kind of expensive for fast and it's unhealthy but pretty good food. Five Guys Burger and Fries shouldn't be on this list.

15 Dunkin Donuts Dunkin' Donuts is an American global doughnut company and coffeehouse based in Canton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1950 by William Rosenberg in Quincy, Massachusetts and has become one of the largest coffee and baked goods chains in the world, with more than 12,000 restaurants in 36 countries... read more

I had a terrible experience there. We went in the drive through. My mom asked for a simple chocolate donut. They were out. Asked for a glazed donut. They were out. She asked what flavors they had and they had only 3 donuts and 2 flavors left and no one in their right mind would try, so we just ditched the place. I'm never going there again.

From personal experience, I do not suggest working here. Unless you want to be disrespected. (Long story short).

Depends on the owner but some that are foreign owned that came from a different culture have treated people like slaves. I have had people that worked there for 7.25 when other places are paying $10. don't get why people work for that.

16 Chipotle Mexican Grill

WAYY too expensive for what it is, also they try to make themselves sound so healthy when each burrito can get over a thousand calories really quickly. Might as well go to Taco Bell, ingredient quality is similar but at a fraction of the price and more fake cheese sauce.

Chipotle has 10 times the food poisoning of any fast food change. They just got caught putting microbes in their food to help preserve it, big lawsuit. Over 200 serious life threatening with serious consiquinces. My opinion if you want to risk your health eat there.

17 Waffle House

Food is packed in grease, Smoking locations have very bad atmosphere, and most Waffle Houses do not have good service at all. They normally have boring decor, and the employee appearance is normally not that good.

This place is disgusting. Don't get me wrong- I LOVE the food, but every single waffle house I've been to has been a dump. There's dirt and syrup everywhere, so much that I could barely eat my waffle. Ugh.

I went during my vacation to Florida and it was Disgusting(both food and the place) and the service was horrid. I'm glad we don't have them in the great lakes area

18 Jimmy John's

The man who owns jimmy johns hunts endangered animals like bangel tigers and kills them for his hobby. Google it. Lots of images of him with dead animals. Why would anyone give money to him to buy more guns. Horrible person he is. Want him to die just like the chick fa lay idiot.

I love their sandwiches! You guys are wrong

You can put your jimmy in my john.

19 Panera Bread Panera Bread Company is an American chain of bakery-café fast casual restaurants in the United States and Canada. Its headquarters are in Sunset Hills, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, and operates as Saint Louis Bread Company in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Offerings include soups, salads, pasta,... read more

This place has good food. You only hate it because you are a bunch of people who only like burgers, pizza and fries who confirm the American stereotype.

Almost everything comes frozen and is just heated up! Even the pasta and sandwiches! And the pastries! Seems like the fresh ingredients they show in the commercials are just a lie!

I HATE panera bread so much that I think everybody who works their should be screwed.

20 Captain D's

Full of unhealthy fish options with high levels of mercury. Deep fried in obscene amounts of trans fats. Even the low fat broiled items are smothered in faux butter that is high in calories and unhealthy preservatives. A 2 piece fish dinner with fries and slaw tops the charts with a total calorie count of 2,300 (3,000 if you add a large soda or sugary sweet tea). Absolutely disgusting.

Who would name their restaurant that?

21 Long John Silver's

Has very good food. Because of long John silvers I have had multiple health problems because of all the unhealthy fat and cholesterol in there amazing tasting fish. If you want to take a trip to the ER than eat at long John silvers and have there toxic waste catch combo with fresh caught toxic waste and toxic sludge water.

I love LJS's! Their crispy fish and shrimp are to die for! Plus their cheese curds... I'm no fan of hush puppies, but the rest of their stuff is good. Plus, you can get green beans, so you can be somewhat healthy, too. 10/10 chain!

22 Checkers

Checkers is actually good for their chicken box which is a good deal

23 Wendy's Wendy's is an American international fast food restaurant chain founded by Dave Thomas on November 15, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio. The company moved its headquarters to Dublin, Ohio, on January 29, 2006. As of 2016, Wendy's was the world's third largest hamburger fast food chain with 6,500+ locations,... read more

Geez... How much thinner does the chicken in the chicken sandwich really need to be be? I used to LOVE their chicken sandwiches when I was a kid. They were hands-down the best around--very thick, juicy and succulent. Over the years, they have made them thinner and thinner. They are now basically just crumbs of batter held together with a thin layer of 'pretend' meat. It's pretty disgusting. Wendy's ignorance of quality has actually helped to give rise to Chick-fil-A as a viable competitor in the industry. Chick-fil-A used to only be in shopping malls; now they are everywhere. I've never thought there chicken sandwiches were as good as Wendy's used to be, but they are much better than the crap Wendy's is trying to sell now.

24 Tim Hortons Tim Hortons Inc. is a Canadian-based multinational fast food restaurant known for its coffee and donuts.

They've gotten so fake over the years. Coffee from powder. Frozen doughnut dough. Go get your coffee and donuts at Krispy Kreme, people. So much better.

They don't even use real bacon on their breakfast sandwhiches.

Breakfast sandwiches are a no-go.

25 Sonic

I seen this one Sonics and they leave their burger patties still on the grill when they are done, instead of putting them in a warmer. This only allows more grease to be soaked into the patties.

I'm shocked this is not at the very top! It is completely overpriced and the food is disgustingly greasy - even more greasy than top ten!

Sonic the hedgehog had his own fast food restaurant. In that case, where is the Mario fast food restaurant.
