Top 10 Best Sega Dreamcast Games
-
Shenmue
Best Dreamcast game and one of the best ever created. The best reason to still own a Dreamcast. To this day, no other game can compete with this work of art.
It is an open-world simulator of real-life Japan in the '80s, where you can experience Japanese '80s culture. Each NPC has a unique name and schedule. In the morning, NPCs walk out of their houses to go to work or do their daily activities. You can follow them around while they go about their daily lives, and at night, they go back to their houses.
Real-life weather in the game means that if it was raining in Japan on December 1, 1987, it would also rain in the game!
Shenmue breathes life into its world. It breathes humanity and high moral values. The atmosphere is touching and stirs your feelings, your heart. It lets you think thoughts and feel emotions that are deeper than quick adrenaline bursts.
An unparalleled virtual tourism experience, full of realism, set in Chinese and Japanese culture, history, and mythology. A spiritual, lifelike interactive experience. - @ShenmueFans

Sonic Adventure
Astonishingly ahead of its time graphically and presentation-wise.
Too bad I don't have a GameCube or a Dreamcast. I want this game anyway.
Childhood game - I can and will never forget it.
-
Sonic Adventure 2
Great game and music.
There must be a Sonic Adventure 3 for the Wii U. Don't screw it up, SEGA.
This game needs to be much higher.
I'm just in it for the Chao Garden.
-
Soulcalibur
To this day, one of the most fluid and enjoyable fighters ever made. The graphics were astoundingly beautiful for their time.
How is it not number 1? Sure, Shenmue is awesome, but this one scored 98 on Metacritic.
-
Skies of Arcadia
The best RPG on the Dreamcast and one of the best RPG games ever made. This game offers a beautiful open world that you can travel in via an airship, with many unique and beautiful locations to explore.
You can build your base and form your crew. It's so amazing that you have the power to make your own town.
This is an upbeat game with great replay value and is very inspirational. It's definitely underrated and deserves a spot in the top ten.
It's a very different game - in fact, it's its own unique game.
Not a big fan of JRPGs, but this is probably the best one I have played.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2

Crazy Taxi
This game was OK, but Sega... this controller... smh.
They definitely made some CRAAAZY money off this one!
Sega when making this game: Alright, it's time to make some CRAAAAAZY money!

Jet Set Radio
Love this game. Cool story, cool art style - everything about this game is cool.
My favorite game on the Dreamcast overall.
Or Jet Set Radio in other versions.

Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future
Amazing game. So much atmosphere and tension.
Very innovative for its time, it should be remembered as a classic.
-
Resident Evil - Code: Veronica
Claire is sexy in that game.

Sega Bass Fishing

Phantasy Star Online
I remember trying to hook up my Dreamcast to the internet and failing miserably for quite some time before I got it working.
Even offline, this game is a sci-fi phenomenon.

Space Channel 5
It's an odd game, but definitely worthy of a top 10 spot for its addictive gameplay and soundtrack!
Quirky, wacky, and wonderful. Just like the Dreamcast itself.
Imagine Amy Rose in Ulala's outfit. That would be cool.

Power Stone
-
Bomberman Online

Re-Volt
It's a game where you control toy cars and race to win. It's amazing. The cars are all so different, the graphics are great for its release year (1999), and it drives you so deep into the game. With Sonic Adventure also being on the list, it is incredibly difficult to choose, and for me as a Sonic fan, that alone is an impressive feat!
