Songs With The Best Lyrics

The Contenders: Page 18

341 The A Team - Ed Sheeran
342 Build God, Then We'll Talk - Panic! at the Disco

It's such a deep song (and video... ) by Panic! At the Disco! Although it can be interpreted a little differently, it's about being forced to make choices like abandoning your purity to obtain the things you want and stooping to new lows, hence the 'sleeping with roaches'. It's also telling a story about a sleazy lawyer at a motel with someone whoring themselves off for their job, then getting caught and having to pay the consequences (pregnancy). If you haven't hear it, you really should listen! Aside from lyrics, it is also brilliant. that cello solo makes my heart quiver every time! It's not an uplifting song, and it's not about things like politics, love, or friendship, but the story it tells is so moving! It also disproves the meaning behind the song 'my favorite things' for the Sound of Music.

I love this so much. Ryan Ross is an amazing lyricist. - Hai

343 Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) - Green Day

345 Iridescent - Linkin Park V 1 Comment
346 Angel of Death - Slayer

Honest, brutal depiction of the Holocaust and Dr. Mengele's experiments. Fits in perfectly. - Annoying_Slayer_Fan

347 Partition - Beyonce
348 Good Left Undone - Rise Against

"because lf you, I believe in angels, no not the kind with wings, no, not the kind with halos, but the kind that take you home when home becomes a strange place"

349 Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran
350 Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkel
351 Never Too Late - Three Days Grace

This song has some sad, but very motivating lyrics.

352 One-X - Three Days Grace
353 21 Guns - Green Day
354 Mockingbird - Eminem
355 Dogs - Pink Floyd

There's a load of wordplay, complicated rhyming, double entendres, symbolism, and just plain scathing condemnation of the modern workplace here. Fantastic.

The best lyrics Roger Waters has ever written and that says a lot considering the amount of brilliant songs he's done. Like 'Animals' and other concept albums, i.e. 'The Wall', 'Dark side of the moon', 'Wish you were here' and 'The Final Cut' are totally in a league of their own.

Who was born in a house full of pain.
Who was trained not to spit in the fan.
Who was told what to do by the man.
Who was broken by trained personnel.
Who was fitted with collar and chain.
Who was given a pat on the back.
Who was breaking away from the pack.
Who was only a stranger at home.
Who was ground down in the end.
Who was found dead on the phone.
Who was dragged down by the stone.

356 High Hopes - Pink Floyd

Oh no, this is my favorite lyrics
