Top Ten Star Wars Characters

The Top Ten Star Wars Characters

1 Darth Vader Darth Vader was the original dark lord for Star Wars. Darth Vader ruled with both fear and aggression. Originally Anakin Skywalker a young Jedi who was then seduced by the dark side of the force by Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious. Vader had his limbs cut off by his jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi leaving more.

When people think of guys in dark suits, there thoughts automatically go to Vader.

When people think of red lightsabers, Vader first comes to mind.

When people talk of Star Wars, Vader is always on top of that list.

Shows you how awesomely over rated the guy is. Kinda like Sephiroth except more realistic. - sapphirewhirlwind

Darth Vader has become a pop culture icon. Even people who have no idea what the Star Wars franchise is about know who Darth Vader is. He also has a lot of quotable movie lines that have become common knowledge. All hail the awesomeness of Lord Vader.

Favourite character from the whole franchise and probably my most favourite fictional character ever.

Star Wars is a story of the rise, fall, and legacy of one of the greatest villains in cinematic history. Nothing can top Darth Vader.

2 Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

Definitely my favourite Star Wars character, he delivers great in all 6 films. In episode 1 he defeats Darth Maul and fulfills his master's dying wish to train Anakin. In episode 2 he tracks down Padme's assassins, discovers the Clones for the Republic, finds the droid factories on Geonosis and fights Dooku. In episode 3 he rescues the Chancellor and fights Dooku with Anakin, kills Grievous and nearly kills Darth Vader too. He gives Luke to Vader's family on Tatooine and watches over him. In the original he disables the Death Star tractor beam and sacrifices himself for Luke and the others to escape. He acts as a spiritual guide to Luke, teaching him some about the Force and using a lightsaber. Both of Kenobi's actors were the best of any Star Wars actor in my opinion

Kenobi. He's just... Kenobi. He seems to be the character who ties everything together for me, from the peak days of the Republic to the end of the Republic and rise of the Empire. He seems to have gone through the most, lost his master, his apprentice and best friend, his lover, the people who treated him like family, and never strayed away from his belief in the Jedi.

And yes, Alec Guiness did his part well but wasn't invested in the character. Ewan McGregor seemed to relish playing in the role and he just is Kenobi to me.

The best. Hands down. The reason I watch Star Wars. In terms of loved characters by the fans he is clearly in the top three but I still think he is underrated.

He is my favorite character, tied with Qui-Gon Jinn. They are both such well-made characters!

3 Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker is a fictional character appearing as the central protagonist of the original film trilogy, and as a supporting character in the sequel trilogy of the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas.

Might not be my favorite Jedi but he is the original main protagonist so he definitely deserves a spot high up in this list. - Bobo_LOL

Definitely my favorite light side hero out of the Original Trilogy.

I think it's a good thing he's whiney. There's supposed to be a resemblence between him and Anakin- always the grass is greener on the other side. Plus, in the fourth one, he's only what, seventeen? I think it adds to his character. And, on top of all that, he's supposed to be impatient when Yoda tries to trick him into thinking Yoda is an idiot. You see, Yoda was testing him. He obviously is like his father, so that's why they worry so much about him when he goes to face him. Also, I would be whiney too if I lived on a moisture farm and couldn't go out and see the world. Can't we all relate to this?

The reason I like Luke is because he shows the most development throughout the movies. At first he's really whiny, in the empire strikes back, he's not really whiny, just emotional, like a real 19 year old, and in the return of the Jedi, he's smart, tactical, level-headed, and most of all, cool. But it does kinda sadden me that my least favorite movie of the original trilogy has Luke at his best.

4 Han Solo Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Harrison Ford. In the original film trilogy, Han and his co-pilot, Chewbacca, become involved in the Rebel Alliance which opposes the Galactic Empire.

I love his sarcastic humour. And that expression at the end of the return of the jedi: priceless!

Never was a huge Luke fan but Han Solo was always an amazing sidekick to root for

He has a realistic personality, and he has flaws, unlike Luke, which you could say being a jerk is a bad thing, but as long as you don't shove it down other peoples throat, it makes you more realistic. - booklover1

The solo movie ruined him. I prefer my smugglers Harrison Ford style, thank you! He’s really an awesome character in the OT!

5 Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back.

Yoda is one of the few fictional characters I can look up to as inspirational. While he may be a great warrior, his best quality is his sage-like wisdom. This can be seen through numerous quotes, which can be applicable in real life, such as:

- "Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealousy. The shadow of greed, that is."
- "Do, or do not. There is no try."
- "The greatest teacher, failure is."
- "Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."
- "Truly wonderful the mind of a child is."

Yoda views the other Jedi as his family, and this is why he feels responsible for being unable to detect and stop Darth Sidious. However, he ultimately accepts that it is up to someone else to stop Sidious and that he has a duty to train them and pass down his wisdom. - rapaddict97

Probably the wisest Jedi of all time having trained approximately 20,000 padawans in his days. - Bobo_LOL

True source of wisdom and the nature of the Force that never fails to inspire me. Yoda (as well as Vader) are probably the reasons why ESB is widely considered to be the best Star Wars film.

I got a stuffed Yoda for Valentine’s Day! I brag about how awesome Yoda is all the time!

6 R2-D2 R2-D2 or Artoo-Detoo is a fictional robot character in the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas, who appears in the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy.

Swears so much that every line is bleeped out

LOVE DA DUDE! But the sequels totally disrespect him. Also, want proof that he's the most iconic Star Wars character? Walk up to one of of your friends who doesn't know anything about Star Wars and say, "Name all the Star Wars characters you know." Chances are, R2-D2 and Darth Vader will be at the top of their list.

Since he's a droid people don't really look at how amazing he really is. He saved Padme in attack of there clones and if she died Luke and Leia wouldn't have been born, Anakin probably would've tuned bad sooner because he was mad his mom and the girl he likes died, and Obi-Wan was captured and Anakin and Padme wouldn't have been there. He also saved Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewy! They would have been smashed without him. R2 is awesome and smart! - hollyeb13

Ntroducing my favorite foul laungadged trash can, its very useful

7 Princess Leia Organa Princess Leia Organa, later known as General Leia Organa, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Carrie Fisher.

Great actor, great character, and definitely the best female character in the Star Wars universe. - Bobo_LOL

Luke: "The Force is strong in my family. My father has it... I have it... My sister, has it. Yes, Leia...It's you." How could this not be one of the most memorable scenes in Star Wars? What princess here has their own ship, (SPACE ship.) doesn't run away from the danger, is called a general, whose brother is one of the most good looking and most known in the whole universe, has the greatest hair, actually knows what a weapon looks like, has had the courage to fly into a "cave" that turned out to be a huge monster, killed an evil ugly looking warm (AKA: Jabba) is brave enough to confront Vader and not tell him important information and know she could be killed if not, AND still looks awesome while doing it!

Leia is epic because she a strong female character who leads the rebels to victory.

Princess Leia is my favorite Star Wars character, yes I'm a girl. She's a good influence on girls, because she's both girly and brave, and shows that you can be both girly and brave at the same time. She's also funny and sarcastic, she's definitely different than your average princess. She's a leader, a lover, a friend so many, and very caring. No female character in Star Wars will ever take the place of Princess Leia. She's officially a Disney Princess now, too.

She is absolutely the best Star Wars character, and should be treated as such on this list. No female character COULD ever take the place on Princess Leia. - Cry_For_Carrie_Fisher

8 Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He appears in the original trilogy as a main and pivotal antagonist serving the Galactic Empire, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are the focus of the prequel trilogy.

Hayden's portrayal of Anakin may not have been the best acting wise, but Anakin is by far the most three-dimensional character in the Star Wars saga (it's also confusing to me as to why Anakin and Darth Vader are separate people on this page...they are the same person; When Vader fulfills the prophecy and kills Darth Sidious to help his son, Anakin Skywalker arises once again). Anakin did everything for love. He lost his mother in possibly the most horrific way possible--he watched the light leave her eyes while she was in his arms. The guilt he felt for not being able to save her is what triggered the immense fear of loss that would eventually lead him to the Dark Side. In my opinion, Anakin was a character that was very easily manipulated but he had a good heart, and had good intentions. Good intentions do not excuse what he did, like killing the younger Jedi in the temple or choking his wife, but he is a very flawed person. And I guess that makes him very human, regardless of the ...more

Anakin was a much cooler and developed character than Darth Vader. Anakin was all over the place, was he good was he bad, was he bad for the reason of good. There was so much character development. Then, he became Darth Vader. Darth Vader couldn't move as fast, and he was basically a robot until return o the jedi.

In my opinion he was stronger as Anakin Skywalker. If he stuck with being a Jedi he would've still become the most powerful being in the universe ever! Don't forget, he probably wouldn't lose his legs and get burned half to death as well, he'd be quicker, more agile and more flexible and his maneuverability would've been insane, almost that of YODAS!

Grew up a prequels fan and Anakin is still my all time favorite

9 Chewbacca Chewbacca, nicknamed "Chewie", is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He is a Wookiee, a tall, hirsute biped and intelligent species from the planet Kashyyyk. Chewbacca is the co-pilot of the Millenuim Falcon, and is best friends with Han Solo.

Chewbacca might not be a really powerful Jedi or anything but him being a Wookie is in my opinion really cool. I mean look at the guy, he is a giant hairy human with a blaster that looks like a crossbow so how could you not like him! - Bobo_LOL

Never says a word of english and still manages to be one of the best characters

Chewbacca is so cute! He is one of my favorite characters from Star Wars... - Onepatch

I've heard that Chewbacca was based off of George Lucas's dog, Indiana, which was also the inspiration for the name Indiana Jones. also, chewbacca's voice is a mix of bears, lions, walruses, and badgers.

10 Darth Maul Darth Maul is a fictional character in the science fiction franchise Star Wars. Trained as Darth Sidious's first apprentice, he serves as a Sith Lord and a master of wielding a double-bladed lightsaber. Darth Maul first appeared in Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, and has also appeared in The more.

Darth mail was awesome he is the coolest looking character I have ever saw

The fact that he only has two scenes and is still top 10 shows how much everyone loves this character

I love Maul all around in both The Phantom Menace and in The Clone Wars.

He's a little bit too creepy for me, but still a pretty swell guy.

The Contenders

11 Boba Fett Boba Fett is a fictional character in the Star Wars series. In The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he is a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader and also employed by Jabba the Hutt.

He was great in Empire, the galaxy's greatest bounty hunter and a worthy right-hand man to Vader. Wish we got to see more of him in the films, Sarlacc should get indigestion and spit him out.

Originally he was overrated but then someone said he was overrated so then people agreed and he became underrated but then some people disagreed and now he's middleratted. Damn I'm good - Unnamed Google User Remade

Boba fett should have his own team I've always liked him I have two action figures of him I can save my money for the vintage figure and there should be a video game about him there's him jango fett the mandolarian and other bounty hunters and I do believe there should be a crossover of transformers and star wars

With 4 lines of dialogue and a badass looking suit of armor, he is one of the best looking and most well scripted villain in Star Wars. He was the reason that Han Solo was captured! One of the biggest plot points in the movies! Everybody praises Jango Fett yet he was a remake of Boba (since the prequels came after the originals). Also Jango never really DID anything besides fight. He killed some lame secondary characters and stuff, and Boba would've done that too given that there were more than just one Jedi. Jango couldn't even take down a young Obi-Wan... Boba stood up to Vader and made such a good reputation for himself. His death scene was bull though...

Boba Fett hardly did anything in the movies and he killed no one, unlike Jango Fett - MrSnuffleupagus

12 Emperor Palpatine Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and publicly as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid.

Mastermind behind each Galactic conflict in the series so far. Sheev basically serves as the embodiment of the Dark Side of the Force and is a truly frightening character. I also love how hammy he is, he just loves being evil.

If you thought Darth Vader was the real villain in the original trilogy, you were sure wrong. This Emperor is pretty much stronger and more evil than all star wars combined, in fact, he's pretty much the lord of all evil, and the most evil villain that was ever thought of by any franchise, making those like Thanos and Darkseid, look like heroes. If it weren't for him, Darth Vader wouldn't exist. This is how bad he is.

He is a very fleshed out villain and fairly realistic. Why put him down.

He had a plan all along, even since the beginning, he was strategically playing out his plan, making the right moves and carefully calculating his decisions. He is very clever and made the right calls at every turn and eventually got everything he wanted. He was patient and knew that one day, he would be rewarded for his patience. And he was right, it all paid off, up until the Second Death Star when he misjudged Luke and Vader.

13 Kylo Ren Kyle Ren is a fictional Sith lord, who is strong with the Force. Kylo Ren commands the First Order with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber. His debut was in 2015's Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. Ren's real identity is Ben Solo, the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia. He was trained more.

He has one of the COOLEST character in the whole series. While Vader will always be the original villain who turns right before the end, Ben Solo comes back and kills the knights of Ren, helps Rey destroy Palpatine, and then gives his life to her. Overall, one of the best characters in the series.

Kylo Ren should definitely outrank Maul, R2-D2, and the dead guy Han Solo. Kylo Ren added a much needed emotional weight to episode 7. Instead of having a one-dimensional villain like Darth Maul in the Phantom Menace; JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan created a unique character that people could connect with. A perfect analogy that expresses who Vader is in relation to Kylo Ren is who Superman is in relation of Spiderman. Superman can do anything he wants. He has all the powers, and can now survive death. Spiderman I believe is the peak of what a relatable character should be. He was basically a nerd who was a superhero. Darth Vader could do anything with the force in the original trilogy. Darth Vader could survive multiple things, and no one knew how to defeat him. Kylo Ren is also a relatable character. One could already see the past of Kylo Ren. One can already speculate how emotional and vulnerable Kylo Ren is. What is also very interesting about his character is that he is going ...more

Kylo is definitely one of my favorite Star Wars characters ever. I love him

I LOVE KYLO REN! IF I HAVE A SON I AM NAMING HIM BEN! SERIOUSLY! Kylo is my favorite Star Wars bad guy!

14 Mace Windu Mace Windu is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by actor Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel films.

This guy beat Darth Sidious. If it weren't for Anakin he'd have saved the republic.

He is very skilled indeed, but Sidious did lose on purpose do get Anakin to join the dark side. Look at how he fought against Yoda. Yoda is way harder to fight, he's stronger with the force and 2 feet and jumping around. I know the clone wars is animated but he completely destroyed maul and savage and lifted them and tossed them around with ease. But I do like Mace - bumsterdumster

Purple light saber. Samuel L Jackson. Beat Palpatine. Top 3 Jedi

Mace windu is the dopest must wise and most badass jedi of all time

He BEAT the most powerful Sith lord of all time, Darth Sidious, and Sidious DIDN'T throw the fight.

15 C-3PO

Best comic relief in the series. A perfect example of how to make a character annoying to the other characters while still adding to the viewing experience. Take notes, Jar Jar.

I can't say he is my favorite, but this guy seriously needs more attention. Vader (after Anakin turned to the dark side) never notices him. Neither does any other villain. On the light side, when they give him attention, they do for five seconds max (unless you count R2-D2). For all his intelligence, he needs to be way higher - MusicMovieMinecraftMe

I love this guy. A perfect counterpart to r2d2. Their paradoxical love just makes me smile. - Fat_Turtle_Gamez

C-3PO is hilarious and magnificent!

16 Rey Rey is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by British actress Daisy Ridley. First appearing as the central character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey is a scavenger who was left behind on the planet Jakku when she was a child, and later becomes involved with the Resistance's more.

Rey is incredible. She is cool. Compliment to Daisy Ridley for the incredible acting by the way. Her story fascinated me. As a child she was left on Jakku, and got herself through until the age of 19 at which she leaves with Finn and the Millennium Falcon. She is a great pilot, even though no one taught her. She constantly keeps proving that she can be better than somebody, especially the guys. She leaves without her parents ever returning, and starts fighting alongside the Resistance. Also she had some other personal lows, like when Finn tried to leave, and I think she does like him, either as a friend, or maybe as something else, I don't know. Later she is kidnapped by Ren and gets out by herself, minutes later she watches Han Solo die and is devastated. Then Finn falls into a coma, she has to fight Ren, and get away. Later she has to leave Finn again, and considering that she whispers "We'll see each other again. I feel it. Thank you, my friend." as she kisses him on the ...more

Rey is a poorly written character, is simply overpowered and far too competent in every single way. If Rey were Male the character would be getting similar feedback from those who dislike the character (Think Anakin Skywalker the phantom menace - very small fan base)

Some suggest gender is an issue no one I know has any issue with Rey being female (Leia,Helen Ripley Jyn Erso and many more female leads are celebrated there is no issue because they have flaws, there is character development and a reason to keep watching) several women I know dislike the ridiculous hyper-competent Rey because there is nothing to get behind or invest in.

If a character has no flaws there is no journey to take with the character because everything or anything they encounter is overcome with consummate ease which made several people just switch off.

Why invest time in a character who can do absolutely everything brilliantly? why invest in a character who has no learning curve ...more

She is just overpowered and so cool, coolest being in the cinematic series. Giving all my thanks to Daisy Ridley, the best actor

She is the single most amazing character in the whole saga. She is SO cool and a serious bad A. She is flippin amazing and should at least be in the top 5. How can any person say that she is terribly written? She is the dang main character! How is she supposed to not succeed? Sure She succeeds a lot, but even with her success she still has a very mysterious past and was literally left on a planet by herself, still managing to survive! She succeeds out of pure talent, smarts, and maybe a little bit of luck. She is literally the coolest person to ever! I mean have you seen the new Star Wars trailer? She flippin backups onto a plane. Tell me that's not amazing?! Overall I personally love Rey and give Daisy Ridley credit for her amazing acting skills and raw talent.

17 General Grievous General Grievous is a fictional character and antagonist in the Star Wars franchise. He served as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Armies during the Clone Wars.

Grievous is probably the most infamous Jedi killer in the galaxy, complete with a murderous cybernetic wheeze that established himself the Vader before Vader became Vader. He is the villainous cyborg of the Clone Wars and the architect of the war atrocities of the Separatist alliance, and altogether very underrated in my opinion. Each lightsaber he collects is a trophy; a testament to all the Jedi he has slain in battle.

He is an unstoppable beast in Clone Wars and expanded material. He's less intimidating in TCW and ROTS, but still an overall fun character with a strong presence. Also literally everything this hulking mechanical monstrosity says becomes a meme and I'm all here for it.

He wields 4 light sabers
Bitch please

One of the most memorable characters from one of the best Star Wars movies, Revenge of the Sith

Most sympathetic Star Wars villain (yeah I'm looking at you Anakin). Also the coolest looking character. Never reached his full potential.

18 Darth Sidious Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and publicly as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid.

Darth sidious is the same thing as emperor palpatine!

Why are Sidious and Palpatine separate here. There the same person

But, if Darth Sidious wasn't on the dark side in the first place there is a great chance Anakin would have never turned bad and Darth Sidious would have never put lightning on Luke. Darth Vader would have been already good, not burned, (Padme still would have died) so Luke wouldn't have to go through pain to turn Darth Vader good again.

COME ON! He's the same as Palpatine! Next I'm gonna see Ben Kenobi at a different spot than Obi Wan! This just takes up space.

19 Qui-Gon Jinn Qui-Gon Jinn is a fictional character in the Star Wars saga, portrayed by Liam Neeson and is one of the main protagonists in the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

For years, (and I do mean years. Like, 10) Qui-Gon Jinn was my favorite Star Wars character EVER! He was smart, capable, talented, and had a fantastic understanding and link to the Force. He may never have been on the council, but I believe that was because he saw the flaws in it. He never allowed himself to become complacent, and I think that was why Darth Maul killed him, knowing he would be a threat if he were allowed to live. Liam Neeson was the perfect man for this role, and he performed so well! Qui-Gon is still one of my favorites, and always will be!

His death was the key to both dooku and anakin turning to the darkside. Had he lived, they would have remained jedi.

I honestly do not think Episode I was awful. I thought it was quite good in fact. And the best thing about it was Qui-Gon Jinn. He may be my favourite character. - BKAllmighty

I think is wasn't that awful to I thought it was quit good to but it was not the best star wars movie but the movie was not bad. I think that all star wars movies are great I'm a really big star wars fan/star wars nerd - jangofettisthebest

He discovered anakin is the chosen one. If he didn't die. Things would have changed drastically. Dooku wouldn't have turned to the darkside. Anakin would be qui gons padawan. This could lead to order 66 never happening, because the clones would be discovered sooner. Palpatine being revealed sooner. Anakin asking him for advice to save padme, as qui gon would allow the marriage. Qui-gons way of thinking was what would have saved the universe.

20 Jango Fett Jango Fett is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, created by George Lucas. He made his debut in the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, where he was portrayed by actor Temuera Morrison.

Better then Boba he was an amazing warrior and the clone template.

Um lol everyone thinks he's so " cool " he's not this is why he didn't even try to defeat the Jedi as hard as he could and that's just weird so I would vote on boba vet to be the best bounty hunter not jango fett " just saying he sucks to hell "

Without him there would be know Clone Troopers. No Clone Troopers = No Order 66 = The Dark Side doesn't reign supreme. The Empire would be nothing without him.

How the heck did Anakin and other stupid characters get put before the greatest bounty hunter of all time

21 Lando Calrissian Lando Calrissian is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He is portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and will be played by Donald Glover in the upcoming standalone Han Solo Star Wars movie.

I love this dude. We needed that shady, smooth gangster that is also a really true friend. - Fat_Turtle_Gamez

This guy needs more attention. He was a pretty important character in the Original Trilogy, but he's always in the shadow of other characters like Vader, Luke, Han, and Leia. I think it's because he's not in ANH.

He should of been in the new force awakens movie.

He is mabe a clone and really cool... The end

22 Padme Padmé Amidala is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, appearing in the prequel trilogy portrayed by actress Natalie Portman.

Her being pregnant is what caused almost everything from episode 3 onward.

Sure, Padme's romance with Anakin is unconvincing. But she is good when she is by herself. A great aspiration for women. - incognito2020

Padme is superior to Leia in my opinion and one of my favorite characters in Star Wars. For one she is far more beautiful than Leia could ever be and is the best looking female character to ever exist. She is tougher than Leia too as she has the durability advantage such as she fell on her back from 300 feet and was only knocked out for a minute and is taller and stronger. She was so physically and mentally powerful that she survived battles that even Jedi knight and masters died in. Overall she should be in the top 5.

Very strong, independent, and intelligent woman being a Queen just at 14 years old. She also has fallen off of ships and while she was stunned it appeared to not even damage her but it killed the clone trooper with armor on which proves how durable her body is. She was also choked by her husband which did not kill her as she was medically healthy. She was also heavily pregnant so that's the reason she fell unconscious. It's also fair to note that Jedi/Sith aren't powerful against superheroes, etc. as Darth Vader has taken minutes to strangle imperial officers and couldn't kill Motti in a New Hope. This shows that Vader's choke is no trouble for Padme especially if it was Ep.2 Padme. Padme is also extremely fast being an peak human to the point where she is as fast as Anakin who augments his speed to superhuman levels. She is also extremely intelligent and has an IQ possibly well over 200. She can outthink any opponent. She is great with an blaster never missing. Since force users ...more

23 Finn FN-2187 (Finn) is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He first appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens in which he is a stormtrooper for the First Order who flees and turns against it after being shocked by their cruelty in his first combat mission. He is portrayed by English more.

I think Finn is my favorite new addition to the Star Wars roster. He is well acted and has good synergy with the rest of the cast. Unfortunately, he suffers from having his arch rushed for the sake of the plot. For me a characters actions must stem from their stated motivations. In the film his defection from the First Order comes about really quickly and isn't well explained. This guy is presumably indoctrinated to believe the First Order are the good guys and and Resistance is some kind of terrorist organization. So when in the first scene his friend is killed by armed villagers harboring a fugitive, I don't know understand why that garners sympathy for the villagers from him. Yeah, they went on the massacre the villagers after that. I don't know if he left because he didn't like killing people or because he was afraid of being shot like his friend. Cause if it is either of those things then it makes no sense why he is so cavalier about killing scores of the people he ...more

My favorite character of all-time and the best new character as well. He has tons of personalities tat I relate to and this character is so awesome that we got to see the first stormtrooper express his own feelings and change sides. This character will develop as well in the series. Finn will be the galaxy's hero forever.

He has so much potential to becoming a Jedi. I hope they do make him one too. - Daviddv0601

I really like making up characters for books and T.V. shows and movies and such. A few years before the latest movies, I made up a character who was once a stormtrooper but started helping the rebel alliance. There were two major differences between Finn and my character! 1. I made the character a girl beacsue I thought it would be different. 2. her name was F1ght3r or Fighter!
So when I watched the movies and found out Finn's backstory, I literally screamed across the whole cinema: "I MADE THIS HAPPEN WITH MY MIND! " I mean, can you blame me, things like this aren't coincidental! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

24 BB-8 BB-8 or Beebee-Ate is a droid character in the Star Wars franchise, first appearing in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Guys come on this is BB-8 where talking about VOTE for BB-8.Best droid is the world please VOTE for BB-8

Bb8 has maximum screen time in the force awakens and yes it is adorable. It gets all the awww moments. It's like a new pet who loves everything he sees.

I wanna build my own BB-8! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

He's so awesome!

25 Ahsoka Tano Ahsoka Tano is a character in the Star Wars franchise. Introduced as the Padawan apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, she is a central protagonist of both the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent TV series.

a truly strong female fan that destroys the sequel lovers argument that we only hate rey because she is strong and female Ahsoka deserves top ten - fredd

My favorite character from the clone wars.
She became a badass after she trained under anakin and matured some

Ahsoka has lived through the most of any star wars character in existence if you don't count R2-D2 and C-3PO. She started out as a young girl who had her father killed in front of her by a slaver intending to kidnap her and became a padawan to the chosen one during the Clone Wars. She then struggled through her recklessness while fighting dedicating her entire life to the jedi only to be cast out and almost killed for a crime she didn't do and she left the jedi order feeling betrayed. She lived about a year surviving on her own just to go on a mission with captain rex at the time of order 66. After faking her death she moves around to backwater planets until she gets caught up in a revolt on Raada and winds up Fulcrum for the rebellion. She does that for a few years meets the Ghost crew and helps out the two jedi combat the new with by visiting a sith temple where she is almost killed by her now deemed former master only to be pulled out into a few years later by Ezra to learn that ...more

I thought she was annoying in Season 1 but over time we really see her grow as a character and learn from her experiences. She was a great addition in TCW and a great fan favorite.

26 Kit Fisto Kit Fisto Is a Jedi from the Star Wars universe who appeared in Star Wars, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge Of the Sith, and also appeared in the TV show, Star Wars the Clone Wars,

I Always liked kit fisto and his awesomeness was done no justice in revenge of the sith

There is a baby Kit Fisto in Men in Black. As well as ET in the Phantom Menace

The coolest of any of the background characters. The Clone Wars T.V. show expands on many of the initial background characters, including Kit Fisto.

Such a cool, laid-back character. my older brother's favourite and he fought against darth sidious ten times as long as two of his fellow council members (them being killed immediately and all). definitely deserves top 15.

27 Count Dooku Count Dooku of Serenno, from the House of Dooku is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise, appearing in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as a primary and minor antagonist respectively. He was portrayed by Christopher Lee and more.

Count Dooku is better than Darth maul when you get to learn more about Dooku

Learn more about him and you will find that he's pretty cool. Used to dislike him myself but like him a lot more now. And he was played be the late and great sir Christopher Lee (RIP)

I believe count dooku is one of the most underrated

Count Dooku's cool, he's underrated.

28 Ezra Bridger

Ezra's started off as a street rat and turned into a noble jedi fighting for the rebellion. Overall his achievements in the war and especially his special encounters with the force built a good story around his character.

He has a lightsaber that doubles as a blaster. Enough said.

I don't no this guy

He is one of the best

29 IG-88

One of the most effective bounty hunters in the galaxy, likely second only to Boba Fett himself. He is a machine built to kill with no remorse, and damn is he efficient at it. Also tries to start a Galactic droid revolution (that ultimately fails). Had about a minute of screentime on the bridge of the Executor but established himself as a fan favorite.

IG-11 is a great bit of fan service for those who loved IG-88 because of them both being the same make of assassin droid.

Anybody who's read the spectacular Star Wars short story "I Am" knows why IG-88 is the coolest Star Wars character. - Ant-Fan

So awesome. He's an assassin droid!

30 Ben Skywalker

Ben Skywalker might very well be my favorite Star Wars character. The way he handles the death of his mother and slowly grows up in that series is admirable.

They've got it all wrong his name is ben will the son of han and leia

I god, I hate this git. He killed his father, the stupid poo

It sounds like this would be Luke's kid, because his name is Ben and he always called Obi-Wan Ben.

31 Galen Marek / Starkiller Galen Marek, codenamed Starkiller, was a male Human apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A powerful Force-user who lived during the era of the Galactic Empire, Marek originated from the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk as the sole offspring of two Jedi Knights—Mallie and Kento Marek—who deserted more.

I know he only appears in the video games and the comics but he is an absolute badass. He actually managed to fight Vader when he was 2 years old, after Vader killed his father, which is why Vader decided to make Galen Marek his apprentice. Get him higher. - DarkBoi-X

I'm just impressed that he made it into LEGO Star Wars III as a playable character (he was called Vader's Apprentice in the game). What an interesting choice, and I was surprised when I researched the character and saw how great he was. Of course, he's not canon cause why would he be when you have WONDERFUL characters like Rose Tico and Admiral Holdo (yay -_-) who are actually a canon part of this universe now. Great. - DCfnaf

What is wrong with you people! Galen should be at least in the top five. He is one of the most powerful force wielders in the galaxy! He killed thousands of stormtroopers, killed many Jedi, took down a star destroyer all by himself, nearly killed vader twice, and if it wasn't for Kota, he would have killed the emperor, saving the galaxy! He is the ONLY Star Wars character who did this all! I would like to see him and Luke fight. Starkiller would totally kick his ass! Enough said.

Not many people actually know about Galen because they don't look at the star wars books/comics or games

My number 1 favourite star wars character of all time, I almost cried when he sacrificed himself at the end of Force Unleashed 1, he's one of those characters that I was rooting for him throughout the game because his life was ruined by Darth Vader and possibly Sidieous, also the only game were I just hated the two villains and wished Galen could get his revenge once and for all. I wish Galen Marek was somehow canon, but sadly Disney doesn't like badass characters and cash in on pathetic characters like Rey and Ezra.

32 Bossk

See bossk in "robot chicken: dengar on the elevator". enough said

Bossk is the best star wars character. End of discussion. - agoetsche556

He can actually speak Basic. Who knew? - Metalhead1997

He is an awesome bounty hunter - Batmaniscole

33 Palpatine

He is said 3 times here people?

He sucks. He wouldn't have overthrown the jedi without Anakin Skywalker. - Elias35

Would still be a senator if not for Jar Jar Binks

Nothing would happen in Star Wars if he wasn't in it, (not that I like him, I don't )

34 Revan

Revan Defied the very order that had been teaching him since childhood, to go to war against the mandalorians, he saved the republic from their brutality, but in doing so lost his humanity. He then still went to stop the sith emperor, but was forced to turn against the republic, the organisation he had spent years protecting, through sheer luck he was pulled away from the dark side, and though he resisted its pull again, he was forced to kill his friend, the one who had helped and assisted him since they were both Palawans, and who had only been following his teachings, he was forced to leave his wife and child behind in a desperate attempt to stop the emperor from invading the republic, willing to give his life just to slow him down, he was betrayed, losing his closest ally, failing at his greatest moment, and spending 300 years being tortured and having his mind ripped apart, but even then, his dedication never faltered, manipulating the mind of the most powerful being in the ...more

Revan was the only force user to have equal mastery over both light and dark sides of the force. The rule of two is based on Darth Bane's interpretation of his teachings. He never actually became a jedi master, yet tore through the Star Forge's defenses like nothing (technically as a padawan - this is why the jedi are morons), while other jedi could barely hold their ground against them.

Revan should top this list because of many factors, but in particular it is his devotion to protecting the galaxy, he defied all odds and authority, and constantly destroyed anyone who stopped him, while constantly being torn apart, losing his morality in the mandalorian wars, attacking the republic to save it from a fate far worse than himself, having to leave his family, being betrayed, and then woke up hundreds of years later, his name having been forgotten, he defied death, it took the combined abilities of the best fighters and force wielders in the galaxy to just weaken him, and finally dying, in the end, thinking he was nothing, but managing to lay the groundwork for the defeat of the monster who had been manipulating and destroying his life for centuries

He should replaced anakin on the list. His actor almost destroyed his character and the prequel trilogy. Revan is my pick, however, being in only in the books and games, I can understand why he isn't higher. If he were in a live action movie or T.V. series, And if the series reflects the great star wars story revan has always had, he'd end up being in the top 7 characters. Read all coments for reasons why...

35 Aayla Secura

I really Really liked this character and her death was one if the saddest! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

Great character who was overshadowed because she was a minor character in the films.

The best jedi ever. So sad she dies with order 66.

Best lesser known character

36 Wedge Antilles

Bro he is the best pilot (soz Han and the skywalkers) and can slip through a space as tight as an x wing itself. If you have read rogue squadron, you will know that he is top ten at least.

Everyman hero of the original trilogy. He wasn't a Jedi or princess, just a pilot doing his job.

Wedge as the only not main character to survive all 3 of the original movies should surely be higher on this list.

Wedge needs more love. - BrideiMacBella

37 Dengar

Ok so for me it's a three-way tie between boba, ig-88 and dengar but Denmark gets my vote because I think he is under appreciated.

You seem to be forgetting Bossk. And also his name is Dengar, not Denmark. - agoetsche556

I have the newer Lego minifigure of him, he looks very cool.

What the heck happened to this guys head⁉️

Pretty cool guy. Only Star Wars character to mess around with the potty... He has toilet paper raped around his head!

38 Wittin
39 Grand Admiral Thrawn Grand Admiral Thrawn is a Chiss male from the Star Wars universe. He first appeared in Star Wars Heir to the Empire. Thrawn has more recently appeared in Star Wars Rebels, and also has a novel that was released in April 2017, titled Thrawn. In summer of 2018, Thrawn: Alliances will be released, where more.

I love Throne. He is so evil but great. lol he's awesome

-Eli Vanto

There is no other character as intelligent, cold, intimidating, and alluring as Grand Admiral Thrawn. He is a normal man who's intellect and foresight can defeat practically anyone. Just by studying one's culture he gained insights into who he was fighting, and how to counter specific alien species. He himself almost defeated the New Republic. I've never seen such a great character.

Honestly, he was likely comparable to Palpatine when it came to intimidation.

Come on. Grand Admiral Thrawn should at least be in the top 25. He's a genius commander, and his interest and use of art is really cool.

40 Porg

Super duper whopper looper cute

Porg is so cute

Should be number 1

They are yummy

41 Darth Bane Darth Bane is a legendary Sith from Star Wars. Darth Bane was one of the greatest Sith lords who ever lived in the Star Wars universe. Darth Bane's greatest accomplishment was creating the Rule of Two, making the Sith a secretive order with one master and one apprentice. The apprentice would learn everything more.

A god who we just don't talk enough about. I mean after all he did create the rule of two.

Took down the entire Sith army in a matter of seconds. He is merciless, smart, strong, and a master of the force. He also brought back the "Rule of Two"

2nd worst bounty hunter. Jango fett is way better

I want him in a movie could kill anyone (except me)

42 Grand Moff Tarkin Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. Tarkin was Governor of the Outer Rim territories, and eventually earned the rank of Grand Moff in the Galactic Empire. Tarkin was also in charge of the production of the Death Star. Tarkin is killed when the Death Star is more.

Cold and calculating leader in the Empire, the man behind the Death Star and destroyer of Alderaan. A man so ruthless, he held Darth Vader's leash without getting himself killed. Tarkin set the tone for the Empire and their atrocities throughout the rest of the Original Trilogy, the series wouldn't be the same without him.

People need to get this right. He was responsible for alderaan's doom, not vader

Grand Moff Tarkin exploded when the death star when KABOOM!

More like Grand Theft Auto

43 Stormtrooper

See him in his white armour and tell me that's not iconic. I don't know why they storm clones was replaced by separate humans. He was better - Unnamed Google User Remade

The reason they miss because of their helmets their actually really good shooters

Actually, these guys are accurate as hell. They were just acting because they were on orders not to kill. - Metalhead1997

44 Admiral Ackbar Admiral Gial Ackbar is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. A member of the amphibious Mon Calamari species, Ackbar was the foremost military commander of the Rebel Alliance who led major combat operations against the Galactic Empire.

I knew everyone would say that no joke

It's a trap!

It's a trap

It's a TRAP - Batmaniscole

45 Dexter Jettster

What a great guy - agoetsche556

Huwhat? This guy just helped in one scene and was never heard of again! How is he on here!

46 Jawa

How come we never see them without their hoods off?

Outini! (Did I spell that wrong? ) - HermioneKG4884

I like jawas

47 Jyn Erso Jyn Erso is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by English actress Felicity Jones in the 2016 film Rogue One.

Not actually a great character, but the only one from Rouge One who’s on the list. Rouge One is subjectively the best Star Wars movie.

I like her character. Sure she is not a super model with a curvy body, and great assets and face like someone like Princess Leia or Padme or an Mary Sue like Rey but she is still Pretty and strong willed in her own right. I will vote for her even though I think Leia is the best leading lady and always will be.

Jyn Erso is the best leading lady in Star Wars, and here's why! You grow an attachment to her and she dies at the end. She was well acted by the beautiful Felicity Jones who really brought her to life. She was also was no pushover as she had the physicality of Padme, and the wits of Leia but unlike Rey was no Mary Sue

She is so cool, unlike Rey "Mary Sue", you understand her background and life much more. Jyn isn't so gorgeous or like some wonder woman, or the new Jennifer Lawrence, but she feels real. Another problem with Rey that makes Jyn better is that with "Stardust", you do not wonder for 2 whole movies and more who she is gonna end up with. Also, Jyn and Cassian actually have chemistry, unlike the cringey "Anakin and Padme" stuff. Jyn is so underrated, people should actually consider the fact she has lost pretty much everyone in her life, her parents, Saw, and etc but yet she still holds on to hope and sacrifices herself for the rebellion. Plus, Jyn and Cassian are so adorable.

48 Ulic Qel-Droma

that - yee23456765

good - yee23456765

49 Sabine Wren

Shes like jango and jango is awesome

Yeah! Should've ranked higher! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

She's a Mandalorian! Mandalorians are some of the most skilled fighters in the galaxy that even Jedi and Sith would have a hard time trying to take down. Another thing, she is artistic and creative like me! - Daviddv0601

50 Din Djarin

Great character. I love the bond he shares with baby "Yoda" - LydiaS001

He’s awesome!
