Top Ten Star Wars Characters

The Top Ten

1 Darth Vader Darth Vader Darth Vader was the original dark lord for Star Wars. Darth Vader ruled with both fear and aggression. Originally Anakin Skywalker a young Jedi who was then seduced by the dark side of the force by Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious. Vader had his limbs cut off by his jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi leaving more.

When people think of guys in dark suits, there thoughts automatically go to Vader.

When people think of red lightsabers, Vader first comes to mind.

When people talk of Star Wars, Vader is always on top of that list.

Shows you how awesomely over rated the guy is. Kinda like Sephiroth except more realistic. - sapphirewhirlwind

Darth Vader has become a pop culture icon. Even people who have no idea what the Star Wars franchise is about know who Darth Vader is. He also has a lot of quotable movie lines that have become common knowledge. All hail the awesomeness of Lord Vader.

The King of Star Wars Darth Vader is the greatest character in Star Wars history you really really can't beat him he looks the best he sounds the best and he has the greatest voice in Star Wars history not even darth maul comes remotely close to this legend of a Sith Lord Darth Vader will always be my favourite and he will remain the greatest character in Star Wars history forever

Darth Vader isn't just a great Star Wars villain, he's villain I've ever seen. For me this absolute heart and soul of Star Wars

2 Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

Definitely my favourite Star Wars character, he delivers great in all 6 films. In episode 1 he defeats Darth Maul and fulfills his master's dying wish to train Anakin. In episode 2 he tracks down Padme's assassins, discovers the Clones for the Republic, finds the droid factories on Geonosis and fights Dooku. In episode 3 he rescues the Chancellor and fights Dooku with Anakin, kills Grievous and nearly kills Darth Vader too. He gives Luke to Vader's family on Tatooine and watches over him. In the original he disables the Death Star tractor beam and sacrifices himself for Luke and the others to escape. He acts as a spiritual guide to Luke, teaching him some about the Force and using a lightsaber. Both of Kenobi's actors were the best of any Star Wars actor in my opinion

Obi-Wan Kenobi: never quite the hero of his own story but always a quiet counterpoint and stabilizing influence of another's, he is one of the most subtly nuanced, genuinely good, and ultimately tragic characters in the Star Wars series. He does his duty, he tries his hardest, he is celebrated and remembered for his serenity and wisdom, though when necessary he can be cunning and even ruthless. The prequels also show us that Obi-Wan too can fall victim to the same human weaknesses which cost Anakin Skywalker dearly. Love blinds him to Anakin's fall; attachment prevents him from killing Vader on Mustafar. The difference between the two of them is that Obi-Wan's inner strength allows him to carry on and keep hope for the future, even when faced with the loss of everything he's ever known and almost everyone he's ever cared for. That is what makes him a great man and a fascinating character.

Obi-Wan's is just the most awesome character in Star Wars! He's an awesome Jedi Master and mentor of Anakin. He defeated General Grievous AND Darth Vader. He was one of the few Jedi to survive the great Jedi Purge, and in the end he gave Luke Anakin's lightsaber and sacrificed himself to Anakin. Totally the best! - Blubbydubber1

3 Han Solo Han Solo Han Solo is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Harrison Ford. In the original film trilogy, Han and his co-pilot, Chewbacca, become involved in the Rebel Alliance which opposes the Galactic Empire.

He has a realistic personality, and he has flaws, unlike Luke, which you could say being a jerk is a bad thing, but as long as you don't shove it down other peoples throat, it makes you more realistic. - booklover1

I'm the same person who wrote Han being having all the best lines that I like and that listed all that he is. I might write one on another computer too. Anyway, more things to add is that Harrison Ford did a phenomenal job with the role as Han Solo. What he did in every movie is just so cool to me. For example, during the battle of Endor in the Return of the Jedi, him tricking the storm troopers and the way he fought the imperials was so sick and cool. I just love him as a character!

Speaking of Harrison acting as solo, I've heard that the actors who originally auditioned to play Han solo were James Caan, Burt Reynolds, Kurt Russel, Al Pacino, Nick Nolte, Perry King, Sylvester Stallone, Jack Nicholson, and even Christopher Walken along with 1000 other actors.

One minute he’s: Great idea!
Next minute: No! Bad idea!
He’s so funny

4 Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker is a fictional character appearing as the central protagonist of the original film trilogy, and as a supporting character in the sequel trilogy of the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas.

I think it's a good thing he's whiney. There's supposed to be a resemblence between him and Anakin- always the grass is greener on the other side. Plus, in the fourth one, he's only what, seventeen? I think it adds to his character. And, on top of all that, he's supposed to be impatient when Yoda tries to trick him into thinking Yoda is an idiot. You see, Yoda was testing him. He obviously is like his father, so that's why they worry so much about him when he goes to face him. Also, I would be whiney too if I lived on a moisture farm and couldn't go out and see the world. Can't we all relate to this?

The reason I like Luke is because he shows the most development throughout the movies. At first he's really whiny, in the empire strikes back, he's not really whiny, just emotional, like a real 19 year old, and in the return of the Jedi, he's smart, tactical, level-headed, and most of all, cool. But it does kinda sadden me that my least favorite movie of the original trilogy has Luke at his best.

Was the only Jedi that could destroy you just by his constant whining. Was the only character that had regular arguments with droids and lose.

He is amazing. Far more human than any other characters. Driven by emotion and heroism. The best character - CannabisCat420

5 Yoda Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back.

Though some people here are wrong, Yoda was not the first Jedi... He is most certainly the most bad ass. As touching as his death scene was... I like to think the reason he kept coming back to say more things to Luke the way he did, was a bit of a joke on his part. As shown in "Empire" he was pretty much the only Jedi who liked to mess with people in a joking manner.

Yoda is the oldest person to be in Star Wars and I love they way he talks: "The lightsaber crystals. Know of their power only Count Dooku would." He is in so many movies including Episodes 1,2,3,4,5 and six, (I hate the part when he dies) The Clone Wars, and Lego Star Wars. He even has a DVD all about himself: The Yoda Chronicles from Lego Star Wars. Vader should lose number 1 and Yoda should have it!

Yoda is so the best! He was the first an most powerful Jedi ever. He could win a lightsaber battle to anyone because the only reason he died is because of old age. No matter how many people talk me in to not liking him he is always going to be the best!

Yoda! You seek Yoda! Love him! He is cute, too! - HermioneKG4884

6 R2-D2 R2-D2 R2-D2 or Artoo-Detoo is a fictional robot character in the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas, who appears in the original trilogy, the prequel trilogy, and the sequel trilogy.

Swears so much that every line is bleeped out

Since he's a droid people don't really look at how amazing he really is. He saved Padme in attack of there clones and if she died Luke and Leia wouldn't have been born, Anakin probably would've tuned bad sooner because he was mad his mom and the girl he likes died, and Obi-Wan was captured and Anakin and Padme wouldn't have been there. He also saved Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewy! They would have been smashed without him. R2 is awesome and smart! - hollyeb13

Okay let me get started...he saved PADME in 2 (Attack Of The Clones) and if he didn't luke and leia wouldn't have been born and darth vader would have never turned good. Think about what would have happened if Luke and Leia weren't in it?

*Han to Leia after they've had a fight:*
Han: your stupid
Leia: Am Not!
Han: Yeah you r!
Leia: AM NOT!
Han: ARE TO!

7 Chewbacca Chewbacca Chewbacca, nicknamed "Chewie", is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He is a Wookiee, a tall, hirsute biped and intelligent species from the planet Kashyyyk. Chewbacca is the co-pilot of the Millenuim Falcon, and is best friends with Han Solo.

I've heard that Chewbacca was based off of George Lucas's dog, Indiana, which was also the inspiration for the name Indiana Jones. also, chewbacca's voice is a mix of bears, lions, walruses, and badgers.

I love Chewbacca! He is so awesome and cute. And I am going to be him for Halloween this year!

Should be in the top ten. One of my favorites

I think that chewie is the best! He is so courageous, but gentle at the same time, and he has an awesome Wookiee crossbow blaster!

8 Princess Leia Organa Princess Leia Organa Princess Leia Organa, later known as General Leia Organa, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed in films by Carrie Fisher.

Luke: "The Force is strong in my family. My father has it... I have it... My sister, has it. Yes, Leia...It's you." How could this not be one of the most memorable scenes in Star Wars? What princess here has their own ship, (SPACE ship.) doesn't run away from the danger, is called a general, whose brother is one of the most good looking and most known in the whole universe, has the greatest hair, actually knows what a weapon looks like, has had the courage to fly into a "cave" that turned out to be a huge monster, killed an evil ugly looking warm (AKA: Jabba) is brave enough to confront Vader and not tell him important information and know she could be killed if not, AND still looks awesome while doing it!

Princess Leia is my favorite Star Wars character, yes I'm a girl. She's a good influence on girls, because she's both girly and brave, and shows that you can be both girly and brave at the same time. She's also funny and sarcastic, she's definitely different than your average princess. She's a leader, a lover, a friend so many, and very caring. No female character in Star Wars will ever take the place of Princess Leia. She's officially a Disney Princess now, too.

She is absolutely the best Star Wars character, and should be treated as such on this list. No female character COULD ever take the place on Princess Leia. - Cry_For_Carrie_Fisher

No females in the top ten, huh? I think the daughter of the Jedi deserves to be at least #10 - shouldn't Vader and Anakin be the same?

She’s the best female character in Star Wars

9 Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. He appears in the original trilogy as a main and pivotal antagonist serving the Galactic Empire, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are the focus of the prequel trilogy.

Hayden's portrayal of Anakin may not have been the best acting wise, but Anakin is by far the most three-dimensional character in the Star Wars saga (it's also confusing to me as to why Anakin and Darth Vader are separate people on this page...they are the same person; When Vader fulfills the prophecy and kills Darth Sidious to help his son, Anakin Skywalker arises once again). Anakin did everything for love. He lost his mother in possibly the most horrific way possible--he watched the light leave her eyes while she was in his arms. The guilt he felt for not being able to save her is what triggered the immense fear of loss that would eventually lead him to the Dark Side. In my opinion, Anakin was a character that was very easily manipulated but he had a good heart, and had good intentions. Good intentions do not excuse what he did, like killing the younger Jedi in the temple or choking his wife, but he is a very flawed person. And I guess that makes him very human, regardless of the ...more

I now know where Luke gets his good looks. But, that's beyond the point. Fact is, Luke and Anakin are alike in so many ways. They have so much in common. They both think highly of themselves and have confidence. They're pride may be one of the many reasons that they are subdued to the dark side (speciffically the fact that they under estimate the power of the Emperor.) Why do you think Luke wanted to be a pilot all his life? Same thing with Rey. Obviously they both have mechanical hands. Plus, Luke is always really pushy. Anakin always got angry with people. Just like Luke. They're both very very impatient. But, then again, how would you feel if you lost everyone who cared about you? For instance: Luke lost Obi-Wan, his aunt and uncle who raised him, and his father. While Anakin lost: His mother, his wife, his children, AND his trust from the jedi council. How could you possibly not know that they're related? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

People don't give him enough credit, but this character had some of the best dialogue and scenes in the entire franchise. Hayden was able to pull of great emotion with just a look, and he portrayed the characters fall exponentially well. Was he whiny? Yes, but he was also a teenager who was looked down upon by the entire order, treated like a child at 19 by his master, and yew knew his skills were beyond anyone elses. Then he has to witness his own mother die. As for the complaint about him falling to quickly, that was a huge build up, as we saw since Phantom (you can see even as a child, he had anger when the Jedi council spoke down to him). As for why he fell the way he did, he was being told by someone how the Sith and Jedi are not that different, then witnesses one of the masters do exactly what a sith would do. At that point, everything he had learned from the order appeared to be nothing but a lie to him, so it makes sense why he fell.

Ok ok wait a second what the crap is he doing here, this guy is Darth Vader why do people thing of him as a DIFFERENT guy than Darth Vader but he’s Darth Vader himself

10 Boba Fett Boba Fett Boba Fett is a fictional character in the Star Wars series. In The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he is a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader and also employed by Jabba the Hutt.

With 4 lines of dialogue and a badass looking suit of armor, he is one of the best looking and most well scripted villain in Star Wars. He was the reason that Han Solo was captured! One of the biggest plot points in the movies! Everybody praises Jango Fett yet he was a remake of Boba (since the prequels came after the originals). Also Jango never really DID anything besides fight. He killed some lame secondary characters and stuff, and Boba would've done that too given that there were more than just one Jedi. Jango couldn't even take down a young Obi-Wan... Boba stood up to Vader and made such a good reputation for himself. His death scene was bull though...

He is just a great character his emotional quality is big because he grew up without a father and wants to take revenge for his fathers death. He is mysterious and doesn't speak much but his body language is great and you can just see his hate

Boba fett is one of the most iconic Star Wars characters of all time. While people say he "doesn't do anything" or, "people only like him because he looks cool", boba fett has an emotional background. Watching his father die at the hands of a Jedi, it's really sad. And about that "doesn't do anything", he was the only one out of an elite group of bounty hunters to track down Han Solo

HE'S 10TH?! 10?! (as of when I am typing this) I'm pissed with this list. jedis

The Contenders

11 Darth Maul Darth Maul Darth Maul is a fictional character in the science fiction franchise Star Wars. Trained as Darth Sidious's first apprentice, he serves as a Sith Lord and a master of wielding a double-bladed lightsaber. Darth Maul first appeared in Star Wars Episode 1 The Phantom Menace, and has also appeared in The more.

I personally think he greatly deserved this spot. He's acrobatic, an assassin, uses that bad*** double-bladed lightsaber, and can use the force! It's everything a great sith needs in one single package and more.

He was trained by Darth Sidous, who just so happens to train Darth Vader after Darth Maul's death, and killed Qui-Going Jinn, who just so happens to have the apprentice of Obi-Wan Kenobi, who also trains Anakin/Darth Vader! I wish that he came back with cybernetic legs like in the animated series, even though I personally think the animated series is ridiculous and sort of kills a part of Star Wars for me, but besides that, he is still awesome!

He is the most boss character Star Wars ever made and he could kill Darth Vader the only person who could defeat him is Master Yoda and he would still injure Yoda and it doesn't matter that Obi Wan beat him that was one time and since then Darth Maul has come back to life like 3 times, and what has Obi wan done in that time? He has grown weaker and trained a padawan which became a sith lord so he failed at training anakin next he got lucky with another skywalker, but you never know luke might turn evil which would show how much of a failure Obi Wan is!

He is the best star wars character he is evil sinister and is over powered with his jumping skills and his fighting style he could kick any ones butt and he has spikes on his head if he wanted to he could stab them in someone but he didn't and he has a double sided lightsaber does any one else have one in the actual movie and I want him to come back in the 7th movie

Darth Mail is the best Star Wars character ever

12 Emperor Palpatine Emperor Palpatine Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and publicly as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid.

If you thought Darth Vader was the real villain in the original trilogy, you were sure wrong. This Emperor is pretty much stronger and more evil than all star wars combined, in fact, he's pretty much the lord of all evil, and the most evil villain that was ever thought of by any franchise, making those like Thanos and Darkseid, look like heroes. If it weren't for him, Darth Vader wouldn't exist. This is how bad he is.

He had a plan all along, even since the beginning, he was strategically playing out his plan, making the right moves and carefully calculating his decisions. He is very clever and made the right calls at every turn and eventually got everything he wanted. He was patient and knew that one day, he would be rewarded for his patience. And he was right, it all paid off, up until the Second Death Star when he misjudged Luke and Vader.

I personally believe Vader is the best character in the franchise. But I vote palpatine because he's a better sith. He, in a few words, IS THE DARK SIDE! He was one of the most powerful force adepts in galactic history, more than Yoda or Vader. He may be ugly, but would you care if you ruled a galaxy far, far away? Thank you Ian McDiarmid for the best sith ever.

I vote #1

13 Kylo Ren Kylo Ren Kyle Ren is a fictional Sith lord, who is strong with the Force. Kylo Ren commands the First Order with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber. His debut was in 2015's Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. Ren's real identity is Ben Solo, the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia. He was trained more.

Kylo Ren should definitely outrank Maul, R2-D2, and the dead guy Han Solo. Kylo Ren added a much needed emotional weight to episode 7. Instead of having a one-dimensional villain like Darth Maul in the Phantom Menace; JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan created a unique character that people could connect with. A perfect analogy that expresses who Vader is in relation to Kylo Ren is who Superman is in relation of Spiderman. Superman can do anything he wants. He has all the powers, and can now survive death. Spiderman I believe is the peak of what a relatable character should be. He was basically a nerd who was a superhero. Darth Vader could do anything with the force in the original trilogy. Darth Vader could survive multiple things, and no one knew how to defeat him. Kylo Ren is also a relatable character. One could already see the past of Kylo Ren. One can already speculate how emotional and vulnerable Kylo Ren is. What is also very interesting about his character is that he is going ...more

I see him making this list after Episode 9 ending. I see a potential in him to outrank Darth Vader. I believe Disney won't spoil such an interesting character with flat, conventional solution and won't change him into one-dimensional villain. His indecision, unpredictability, blind faith, kind of fanaticism, unstable character, not fully controlled, but amazing powers, vulnerability, Darth Vader's complex... I can say without end. He gave more internal tear in 15 minutes of screen time, something Anakin didn't do in three movies. Let Kylo be Anakin as Star Wars deserves.

Spoilers: A villain that is cool and badass, but is also a very compelling character unlike Maul or Dooku. He is new, fresh and unique amongst the Sith Lords and other Star Wars villains in that he is the first to display real vulnerability and internal emotional conflict from the start. He is more of a rival to the main protagonists, because he is like the protagonists in that he is not flawless or also some unstoppable warrior. Couldn't be happier with the direction they're taking with this character and was easily my favourite in the Force Awakens.

I think Kylo and Rey are Siblings! Tell me I'm right and help reboot my self-esteem? - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

14 C-3PO C-3PO

I can't say he is my favorite, but this guy seriously needs more attention. Vader (after Anakin turned to the dark side) never notices him. Neither does any other villain. On the light side, when they give him attention, they do for five seconds max (unless you count R2-D2). For all his intelligence, he needs to be way higher - MusicMovieMinecraftMe

C-3PO is hilarious and magnificent!

He is my husband. And seriously the best character ever. He is smart and dumb at the same time, and he is very funny. "You probably didn't recognize me because of my red arm."! - DisneyDonut

15 Mace Windu Mace Windu Mace Windu is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by actor Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel films.

This guy beat Darth Sidious. If it weren't for Anakin he'd have saved the republic.

He is very skilled indeed, but Sidious did lose on purpose do get Anakin to join the dark side. Look at how he fought against Yoda. Yoda is way harder to fight, he's stronger with the force and 2 feet and jumping around. I know the clone wars is animated but he completely destroyed maul and savage and lifted them and tossed them around with ease. But I do like Mace - bumsterdumster

Ok he is the only Jedi brave enough to have a purple light saber. He is such an awesome character he beat Darth Sidious and Jango Fett... So that has to count for something. And I personally don't think he died. It's gonna take more than a missing hand to take him down. And as for being force pushed out the window he could have just grabbed onto someone's ship like Anakin Skywalker did.

He beat the dark lord of the SITH. If it weren't for sky walker he would have saved the Galaxy. I think he should have been higher on this list

I mean, you CAN'T go wrong there. Sorry about the typo. - HermioneKG4884

16 Darth Sidious Darth Sidious Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and publicly as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid.

Darth sidious is the same thing as emperor palpatine!

Why are Sidious and Palpatine separate here. There the same person

But, if Darth Sidious wasn't on the dark side in the first place there is a great chance Anakin would have never turned bad and Darth Sidious would have never put lightning on Luke. Darth Vader would have been already good, not burned, (Padme still would have died) so Luke wouldn't have to go through pain to turn Darth Vader good again.

Yeah, but the Actions Sidious/Palpatine did were different from each other

Take Palpatine, he was kind and Gentle, but he manipulated people to gain power and become Supreme Chancellor. Heck even Jar-Jar was Technically the one to help him rise to Power.

On the other Hand, Sidious was addicted to the Dark Side (like a Drug Addiction) he had 3 Sith Apprentices who ended up die-ing by the Time he died and he created the Galactic Empire from the Republic. He also built the Death-Star (with Krennic/Galens help) and he even killed a bunch of People (The people of Alderaan, Jedha/Scarif, Padme, Soldiers from the Rebellion, heck even Darth-Vader even though Vader sacrificed himself.

So even though they are the Same person, the actions they do are very different!

17 General Grievous General Grievous General Grievous is a fictional character and antagonist in the Star Wars franchise. He served as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Armies during the Clone Wars.

He wields 4 light sabers
Bitch please

He looked like a badass in his one movie appearance, but his character was done a disservice in Revenge of the Sith. In his real introduction to the Star Wars universe, the 2003 animated Clone Wars, he was more of a juggernaut than Darth Vader, taking on six jedi at once with ease and single handedly kidnapping Palpatine from Coruscant. And his backstory is downright tragic, making him far more than the shallow and stereotypical villain he appears to be. I don't hesitate to say he's my favorite character in Star Wars.

General grievous is an exellent in star wars and he did not have enough screen time personally I would have introduced him on episode 2 plus it seems that obi wan's fight with greivous was unrealistic as why would obi wans lightsaber would slide down grievous's arm and slice off his arm. Therefore I think grievous should be higher

I like Cyborgs and Robots in any movie so, he needs a Standalone movie! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

18 Rey Rey Rey is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by British actress Daisy Ridley. First appearing as the central character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey is a scavenger who was left behind on the planet Jakku when she was a child, and later becomes involved with the Resistance's more.

Rey is incredible. She is cool. Compliment to Daisy Ridley for the incredible acting by the way. Her story fascinated me. As a child she was left on Jakku, and got herself through until the age of 19 at which she leaves with Finn and the Millennium Falcon. She is a great pilot, even though no one taught her. She constantly keeps proving that she can be better than somebody, especially the guys. She leaves without her parents ever returning, and starts fighting alongside the Resistance. Also she had some other personal lows, like when Finn tried to leave, and I think she does like him, either as a friend, or maybe as something else, I don't know. Later she is kidnapped by Ren and gets out by herself, minutes later she watches Han Solo die and is devastated. Then Finn falls into a coma, she has to fight Ren, and get away. Later she has to leave Finn again, and considering that she whispers "We'll see each other again. I feel it. Thank you, my friend." as she kisses him on the ...more

Rey is a poorly written character, is simply overpowered and far too competent in every single way. If Rey were Male the character would be getting similar feedback from those who dislike the character (Think Anakin Skywalker the phantom menace - very small fan base)

Some suggest gender is an issue no one I know has any issue with Rey being female (Leia,Helen Ripley Jyn Erso and many more female leads are celebrated there is no issue because they have flaws, there is character development and a reason to keep watching) several women I know dislike the ridiculous hyper-competent Rey because there is nothing to get behind or invest in.

If a character has no flaws there is no journey to take with the character because everything or anything they encounter is overcome with consummate ease which made several people just switch off.

Why invest time in a character who can do absolutely everything brilliantly? why invest in a character who has no learning curve ...more

I hope the girl that plays Rey (Daisy Ridley) gets an academy awards for her acting in The Force Awakens. She is a hero to girls all around the world and deserves to be rewarded for that.

Good job to Daisy Ridley as acting this role. She is great and I love her! (Rey I mean. I mean, I AM a girl! I think Daisy Ridley's married or at least dating. Correct me there if I'm wrong...) Rey is my favorite! - HermioneKG4884

I honestly do not think Episode I was awful. I thought it was quite good in fact. And the best thing about it was Qui-Gon Jinn. He may be my favourite character. - BKAllmighty

I think is wasn't that awful to I thought it was quit good to but it was not the best star wars movie but the movie was not bad. I think that all star wars movies are great I'm a really big star wars fan/star wars nerd - jangofettisthebest

Awesome character. He is in the best star wars movie along with jar jar binks. Qui-Gon is one of those characters where you could take him out of the movie and in the later movies darkness would win. He even discovered the chosen one. He kind of plays by his own rules. Without him Luke never would've been trained to be a jedi because with out GUI-Gon Obi-Wan would've never been trained and if Obi-Wan was never traine then Luke never would've been trained. Qui-Gon Jinn should be number one.

He was just oblivious that Anakin would turn evil because he was a Jedi almost soley connected to the living force, or what is happening at present, while obi wan's strong point was in the universal, as in visions. Perhaps that's why Anakin had those visions, he was taught to listen to the universal force because he had no influence from the crèche prior of either of the forces. Maybe if Qui Gon had been the one to train him he would have not turned to the dark side. But maybe that's just me.

This guy needs more attention. He was a pretty important character in the Original Trilogy, but he's always in the shadow of other characters like Vader, Luke, Han, and Leia. I think it's because he's not in ANH.

He should of been in the new force awakens movie.

Um lol everyone thinks he's so " cool " he's not this is why he didn't even try to defeat the Jedi as hard as he could and that's just weird so I would vote on boba vet to be the best bounty hunter not jango fett " just saying he sucks to hell "

Without him there would be know Clone Troopers. No Clone Troopers = No Order 66 = The Dark Side doesn't reign supreme. The Empire would be nothing without him.

He first appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens in which he is a stormtrooper for the First Order who flees and turns against it after being shocked by their cruelty in his first combat mission. He is portrayed by English more.

I think Finn is my favorite new addition to the Star Wars roster. He is well acted and has good synergy with the rest of the cast. Unfortunately, he suffers from having his arch rushed for the sake of the plot. For me a characters actions must stem from their stated motivations. In the film his defection from the First Order comes about really quickly and isn't well explained. This guy is presumably indoctrinated to believe the First Order are the good guys and and Resistance is some kind of terrorist organization. So when in the first scene his friend is killed by armed villagers harboring a fugitive, I don't know understand why that garners sympathy for the villagers from him. Yeah, they went on the massacre the villagers after that. I don't know if he left because he didn't like killing people or because he was afraid of being shot like his friend. Cause if it is either of those things then it makes no sense why he is so cavalier about killing scores of the people he ...more

My favorite character of all-time and the best new character as well. He has tons of personalities tat I relate to and this character is so awesome that we got to see the first stormtrooper express his own feelings and change sides. This character will develop as well in the series. Finn will be the galaxy's hero forever.

He has so much potential to becoming a Jedi. I hope they do make him one too. - Daviddv0601

He's cool. I like him. I think he'd make a good x-wing pilot. Aaand, I think he and Rey like each other! ❤️ - HermioneKG4884

24 Padme

Padme is superior to Leia in my opinion and one of my favorite characters in Star Wars. For one she is far more beautiful than Leia could ever be and is the best looking female character to ever exist. She is tougher than Leia too as she has the durability advantage such as she fell on her back from 300 feet and was only knocked out for a minute and is taller and stronger. She was so physically and mentally powerful that she survived battles that even Jedi knight and masters died in. Overall she should be in the top 5.

Very strong, independent, and intelligent woman being a Queen just at 14 years old. She also has fallen off of ships and while she was stunned it appeared to not even damage her but it killed the clone trooper with armor on which proves how durable her body is. She was also choked by her husband which did not kill her as she was medically healthy. She was also heavily pregnant so that's the reason she fell unconscious. It's also fair to note that Jedi/Sith aren't powerful against superheroes, etc. as Darth Vader has taken minutes to strangle imperial officers and couldn't kill Motti in a New Hope. This shows that Vader's choke is no trouble for Padme especially if it was Ep.2 Padme. Padme is also extremely fast being an peak human to the point where she is as fast as Anakin who augments his speed to superhuman levels. She is also extremely intelligent and has an IQ possibly well over 200. She can outthink any opponent. She is great with an blaster never missing. Since force users ...more

She was extremely tough, smart and an extremely beautiful and attractive woman. She survived battles Jedi could not have and survived blows capable of killing the average person. She was also played by Natalie Portman which obviously means she had the beauty of an angel. However I do think Carrie Fisher was more attractive in her prime than Natalie Portman due to her curvy body but it's an close one

Padme is better than Leia guys! She’s more inspirational for girls, is actually developed as a character and is much more beautiful!

25 Ahsoka Tano Ahsoka Tano Ahsoka Tano is a character in the Star Wars franchise. Introduced as the Padawan apprentice of Anakin Skywalker, she is a central protagonist of both the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent TV series.

I'm gonna tell you the truth and the truth is 3 words: best. Jedi. EVER!
I have always been really obsessed with her and she is so cool! Her return in Star Wars Rebels was one of the best things ever and her fight with Darth Vader makes me wonder, Where is she now? I know it might be unlikely but, I really want to see her in the next Star Wars movie! #AHSOKA! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

She said "screw you" to the Jedi without turning to the Dark Side.

One of the best characters for certain. In the top 5 on my list.

She is the BEST! It made me cry when she left at the end

26 Revan Revan

Revan Defied the very order that had been teaching him since childhood, to go to war against the mandalorians, he saved the republic from their brutality, but in doing so lost his humanity. He then still went to stop the sith emperor, but was forced to turn against the republic, the organisation he had spent years protecting, through sheer luck he was pulled away from the dark side, and though he resisted its pull again, he was forced to kill his friend, the one who had helped and assisted him since they were both Palawans, and who had only been following his teachings, he was forced to leave his wife and child behind in a desperate attempt to stop the emperor from invading the republic, willing to give his life just to slow him down, he was betrayed, losing his closest ally, failing at his greatest moment, and spending 300 years being tortured and having his mind ripped apart, but even then, his dedication never faltered, manipulating the mind of the most powerful being in the ...more

Revan was the only force user to have equal mastery over both light and dark sides of the force. The rule of two is based on Darth Bane's interpretation of his teachings. He never actually became a jedi master, yet tore through the Star Forge's defenses like nothing (technically as a padawan - this is why the jedi are morons), while other jedi could barely hold their ground against them.

Revan should top this list because of many factors, but in particular it is his devotion to protecting the galaxy, he defied all odds and authority, and constantly destroyed anyone who stopped him, while constantly being torn apart, losing his morality in the mandalorian wars, attacking the republic to save it from a fate far worse than himself, having to leave his family, being betrayed, and then woke up hundreds of years later, his name having been forgotten, he defied death, it took the combined abilities of the best fighters and force wielders in the galaxy to just weaken him, and finally dying, in the end, thinking he was nothing, but managing to lay the groundwork for the defeat of the monster who had been manipulating and destroying his life for centuries

He is the most badass sith/Jedi there was

It sounds like this would be Luke's kid, because his name is Ben and he always called Obi-Wan Ben.

Isn’t Ben Skywalker Kylo Ren? Why is he here?

30 Galen Marek / Starkiller Galen Marek / Starkiller Galen Marek, codenamed Starkiller, was a male Human apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A powerful Force-user who lived during the era of the Galactic Empire, Marek originated from the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk as the sole offspring of two Jedi Knights—Mallie and Kento Marek—who deserted more.

What is wrong with you people! Galen should be at least in the top five. He is one of the most powerful force wielders in the galaxy! He killed thousands of stormtroopers, killed many Jedi, took down a star destroyer all by himself, nearly killed vader twice, and if it wasn't for Kota, he would have killed the emperor, saving the galaxy! He is the ONLY Star Wars character who did this all! I would like to see him and Luke fight. Starkiller would totally kick his ass! Enough said.

Not many people actually know about Galen because they don't look at the star wars books/comics or games

My number 1 favourite star wars character of all time, I almost cried when he sacrificed himself at the end of Force Unleashed 1, he's one of those characters that I was rooting for him throughout the game because his life was ruined by Darth Vader and possibly Sidieous, also the only game were I just hated the two villains and wished Galen could get his revenge once and for all. I wish Galen Marek was somehow canon, but sadly Disney doesn't like badass characters and cash in on pathetic characters like Rey and Ezra.

While it sucks that his character is no longer canon, he is a very likable character. His story is basically about him being raised as a Sith Lord, only to revert to a Jedi and fight the Empire. For those who haven't played Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Which is an excellent game) here is what his story is about and why he is awesome. Spoilers will be added so don't read if you want to experience the game yourself. Story takes place after Rise of the Empire/Revenge of the Sith.

He was born on Kashyyyk where Vader killed his father (And no, he didn't seduce his father to the Dark Side. He literally killed him with his Lightsaber) and there stood the little adorable Galen. Still a young toddler who looks up at Vader in fear. Because his father was a Jedi, Galen was force-sensitive. Instead of killing Galen, he took him in to become Vader's apprentice. Vader tormented, tortured and abused Galen when raising him and teaching him to use the Dark Side of the Force. Galen feared ...more - Daviddv0601

He should be way higher. One of the strongest if not the strongest character. I get he's not canon but still. Come on now

Such a cool, laid-back character. my older brother's favourite and he fought against darth sidious ten times as long as two of his fellow council members (them being killed immediately and all). definitely deserves top 15.

This guy looks sick and is one of those background characters that seem whatever but end up doing more.

I'm sorry but what did Kit Fisto do other than look cool? That's what I thought.

He defeated general grievous like a boss

38 Commander Bly Commander Bly

I never really understood my brother obsession with Commander Bly until I started watching them and realized that he was quite a good character! - oceanbreezetheawesomewarrior

Bly is my favorite clone. He hates politics and just enjoys fighting evil and scrapping droids. He's both a good leader and good follower, which is a rare trait in anyone. Not counting Boba Fett, he is perhaps the most similar clone to Jango Fett in that he is deeply mistrusting of certain people, completes missions as quickly as possible, and keeps his feelings off the battlefield. He became very close to Jedi Master Ayla Secura before finally gunning her down on Felucia during Order 66. Plus, he has cool yellow armor. - ShuhBanggg

Darth Bane's greatest accomplishment was creating the Rule of Two, making the Sith am secretive order with one master and one apprentice. The apprentice would learn more.

Took down the entire Sith army in a matter of seconds. He is merciless, smart, strong, and a master of the force. He also brought back the "Rule of Two"

47 Grand Admiral Thrawn Grand Admiral Thrawn Grand Admiral Thrawn is a Chiss male from the Star Wars universe. He first appeared in Star Wars Heir to the Empire. Thrawn has more recently appeared in Star Wars Rebels, and also has a novel that was released in April 2017, titled Thrawn. In summer of 2018, Thrawn: Alliances will be released, where more.

There is no other character as intelligent, cold, intimidating, and alluring as Grand Admiral Thrawn. He is a normal man who's intellect and foresight can defeat practically anyone. Just by studying one's culture he gained insights into who he was fighting, and how to counter specific alien species. He himself almost defeated the New Republic. I've never seen such a great character.

Come on. Grand Admiral Thrawn should at least be in the top 25. He's a genius commander, and his interest and use of art is really cool.

Honestly, he was likely comparable to Palpatine when it came to intimidation.
