Top 10 Mario Enemies that Attack from Above

This top 10 list is about Mario enemies that fire weapons from above. As the list goes from #10 to #1, bombs will be mentioned more. No bosses are included.

The Top Ten
  1. Albatoss (Super Mario Bros. 2)

These birds are born to bombard their foes. They fly with Bob-ombs in their talons. When an Albatoss releases a bomb, it'll walk around for a while and then explode. Albatosses are capable of handling these explosives before they release them. These bombarding birds make great invaders.

  2. Ukiki (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)

It makes sense that these mischievous monkeys play with bombs. They hop around branches and trees, then drop bombs on you. They often hide, so they bombard you when you least expect it. They're so sneaky that they can outsmart you.

  3. Skeeter (New Super Mario Bros.)

Usually, bombs defuse underwater, but Skeeters drop skull bombs that explode underwater. When a Skeeter stops moving on the water, it'll drop a skull bomb. Some Skeeters are unarmed, but not these kinds.

  4. Boo Guy (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)

Some Boo Guys don't chase you. Instead, they stay in one place while passing a bomb around. Whenever you're underneath the Boo Guy that has a bomb, that ghost will be the one to drop it. As more bombs keep appearing, each Boo Guy will have its turn to bombard the target.

  5. Baron von Zeppelin (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)

Three words: balloons bombard bombs. The bomb is not too much weight for Baron von Zeppelin. The balloon has more strength than the bomb. Later, the balloon's string lets go of the bomb. When they are equipped with bombs, they are not easy to pop.

  6. Cluckboom (Super Mario Galaxy)

This odd bird may be fat, but it can fly and lay lots of eggs. Explosive eggs. Cluckbooms lay bomb eggs in the air. They are one of the bombers of the desert.

  7. Lakitu (Super Mario Bros.)

Lakitu, known in Japan as Jugem, is a fictional flying character in the Mario franchise. Created by Shigeru Miyamoto, it first appeared in the Nintendo Entertainment System game Super Mario Bros., where it throws Spinies from its cloud vehicle to challenge players. Since then, Lakitu has appeared in... read more

When it spots you, it'll throw Spiny eggs from above. If you get away, Lakitu will follow you. Some Spiny eggs are not easy to dodge, either.

  8. Blow Hard (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island)

The Blow Hards we're focusing on are on the ceiling. What they do is lock on to their target and fire by spitting round, spiky weapons. They're like guns on the ceiling, locked and loaded.

  9. Amazing Flyin' Hammer Brother (Super Mario World)

This is a Hammer Brother on a flying platform. From above, it'll throw hammers. These hard objects are thrown left and right.

  10. Coo Coo (Super Mario Sunshine)

This enemy flies helplessly in circles through the air. If you get too close to it, it'll drop lots of ooze. It can make a really big mess with that icky stuff. Only number 10 because it's more of a coward than a fighter.
