Top 10 Strongest Super Mario Bros. Characters

The Top Ten
Bowser Bowser is the main antagonist of the Mario Bros. Franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to simply destroying a fun game between Mario and Friends in the Mario Party spinoff series, this king of the Koopas has set up a certain hatred towards himself amongst the large cast of Mario Characters. He first... read more

With a king koopa, Bowser with his rocking mind, with koopa children and the head of a devil, Mario would be screaming to his mommy because of this beast princess-napper.

There is a good reason why Bowser is slow. If he were fast, he would be a god considering all his other powers.

The king of the koopas. Bowser is no joke. He was a threat to Rosalina, a literal god. Also, he managed to survive lava and being whacked into the sun.

Mario Mario, originally named Jumpman, is the main character of the Super Mario Bros. franchise, created by the creative director and video game designer at Nintendo of Japan, Shigeru Miyamoto. Mario has appeared in almost every Mario game, including games in spin-off series as a playable character, with... read more

Mario is superhuman, and Donkey Kong is a super gorilla, which makes him twice as strong as Mario. Donkey Kong has tougher smash attacks and has lifted 100 million tons at full potential. It is obvious he is stronger and more durable than Mario.

Donkey Kong weighs 800 lbs and is athletic, which is four times heavier than Mario. Donkey Kong also has more muscle mass.

However, Mario has enough other advantages compared to him. Mario is a little faster and more agile, and his skills are better than Donkey Kong. He has more intelligence and always outmatches Donkey Kong. Mario would still beat him without his power-ups. He has more skillful move sets and fighting styles in the Super Smash Bros. games. He would burn and launch Donkey Kong hard in a battle.

Mario should be higher on the list.

Donkey Kong Donkey Kong is an arcade game released by Nintendo in 1981. It is an early example of the platform game genre, as the gameplay focuses on maneuvering the main character across a series of platforms while dodging and jumping over obstacles.

Donkey Kong is extremely powerful but not Bowser or Mario level. He was able to punch the moon, and it fell straight to Earth with not a single injury at all. So DK is ALMOST god-slayer tier, but he is still very powerful compared to Rosalina, Luigi, Bowser, and Mario.

Donkey Kong punched the moon so hard it fell onto the Earth. He can also punch at what's basically light speed. Do I really have to explain anything else?

Donkey Kong is strong, but against other characters, he is nothing.

Wario Wario is a character in Nintendo's Mario series who was originally designed as an antagonist to Mario. His motives are driven by greed and he will take the side of whoever will give him the most pay. Although he may seem like just a mean man with no heart, he does have a very tragic past.

Canonically, Wario can't die because he doesn't "feel like it." He's also capable of destroying hard, stone-like materials using just his shoulders and being able to chuck enemies hard enough to crash and break pillars. He also has amazing speed, as seen in Wario Land 4. And while we're at it, he has power ups that let him shoot fire, ground pound hard enough to cause an earthquake, and glide at great speeds. He also has the Earthshake punch, letting him punch the ground to cause the entire world around him to shake. He'll literally do anything for money, which could be a strength and a weakness at the same time. Let's not forget that he's literally died before (Zombie Wario) and yet he still gets back up and continues. Wario truly is the greatest achievement. (Wario Land 4 to be exact.)

Princess Rosalina

She is the "goddess" of the Mario universe and even wiser and more powerful than all the demon kings that exist. Her love and self-confidence will not be shaken anymore. Maybe she is more suitable than Peach to be with Bowser, who wants to build up a family: "father" of the Lumas and "mother" of Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings.

Rosalina can't actually destroy the universe. She merely helped it safely reset. But she can still destroy and create entirely new planets. This makes her hands down the strongest character.

Luigi Luigi, originally a palette swap of Mario named Green Mario, is a major character featured in video games and related media released by Nintendo. Created by prominent game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi is portrayed as the slightly younger, taller fraternal twin brother of Nintendo's unofficial mascot... read more

He has stronger legs than his bro and the Super Jump Punch is a near insta-kill to anybody when landed correctly. He has the strength to run on water for a while and can lift a 20-billion-pound castle just like Mario. He has the power of electricity and learned the Thunder Hand from the thunder god himself. Luigi also has the ability to move and manipulate people and objects with this strength.

If that's not enough for you, he has also learned a few fire techniques like Mario, just not half as much, and made his own, green, floaty version of it. He can ram into people using his head, and has his Poltergust 5000 to help him suck up his foes. He is very overpowered, yet stuck under his bro's shadow. Why? Because his only weakness is his cowardliness.

Roy Roy Koopa is one of the seven Koopalings. In the DIC cartoons Roy is called Bully Koopa. Roy has a tough guy demeanor, but wears pink which is most likely a reference to real men wear pink. Roy also wears hot pink sunglasses and from an angle it looks like he has no eyes.

Roy is the best because his bully personality shows how tough he is. Even though he is pink, he still looks very tough, and I love his sunglasses. He is the best.

He was in Super Smash Bros 4 before the Roy of Fire Emblem and is the favorite Roy of Sakurai.

Bowser's minion Roy can be strong, but he's not hard to beat and not easy to beat.

Yoshi Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur who appears in video games published by Nintendo. Often appearing as a sidekick and helper to Mario, Yoshi is most known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island and the Super Mario franchises.

Yoshi is a dinosaur that can eat anything and then turn them into eggs to use as weapons. He also can use his fast legs to make an entire other jump!

I played as Yoshi in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and I was versus Bowser and I won. But how is Yoshi weaker than Bowser?

Yoshi is my favorite character, and he's the best, but there are two stronger than him.

Bowser Jr. Bowser Jr., or sometimes simply Jr., is a video game character who appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise as the secondary antagonist. He is the youngest son of the series' primary antagonist, Bowser.

He was chucking giant cannonballs in Paper Jam.

Bowser Jr. is Bowser's evil child! I like it!

Jr. is the strongest because he can make robots and lead an army well at a young age.

Princess Toadstool (Peach)

Peach is incredibly powerful, and yes, she beat Bowser once. Even then, she had help from the vibe powers and Perry. Mind you, Bowser mostly relied on the vibe scepter during the battle, meaning he wasn't using much of his own power. Peach beat the vibe scepter, not him.

Keep in mind Bowser has actually whooped most of the main cast's butts in combat. Even Mario has lost to him on occasion. Yes, Peach has helped defeat Bowser before, but in all of those instances, she never directly joined the battle. She just gave Mario more power. She never fought herself. If she was as powerful as you say, she wouldn't be kidnapped so often. She would just do what she did in BIS (which she likely only did because she knew he wouldn't retaliate).

The Newcomers

? Captain Toad Captain Toad is a variation of the major character, Toad in the Super Mario Bros. Franchise. He first appeared as a playable character in Captain Toad levels in Super Mario 3D World and later appeared as a playable character alongside Captain Toadette in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
? King Boo In the Super Mario series, King Boo is the leader of all the Boos and a major antagonist. He is an ally of King Bowser. He is depicted as a large white Boo with a crown similar to that of Princess Peach... read more

Hands down, he is the most powerful character of all. He is the master of illusions and was able to capture and beat Mario multiple times. Aside from that, there is a theory saying King Boo is also possessing Bowser, which just goes to show how powerful he really is.

He's a challenging opponent and he deals a lot of damage, but his weakness is the star power-up.

King Boo possessed the current most powerful character on this list.

The Contenders
Boom Boom

This character is so powerful. It can go invisible!

He can be quite aggressive, but Mario is able to defeat him easily.

King K Rool King K. Rool is a fictional anthropomorphic crocodile and the main antagonist of Nintendo's Donkey Kong video game franchise, as well as the archenemy of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.
Dimentio Dimentio is an evil harlequin magician and the main antagonist of the 2007 Nintendo Wii video game known as "Super Paper Mario". One of his notable features is that he has created his own Dimension, known as Dimension D.

Dimentio literally almost destroyed all of the dimensions in Super Paper Mario. Since this guy has the power to destroy the universe, he should be higher on this list! Of course, he didn't do it alone. He used Luigi's power too, so Luigi should also be very high on the list as well.

Dimentio was nearly able to destroy all worlds, just to create perfect new ones which he would rule. He wrote the very prophecy which he made to ensure him rule all worlds. He is clearly the most powerful Mario character and one of the most powerful characters in all of fiction.

Waluigi Waluigi is a lanky self-centered, brusque young lad as he is considered evil and the main rival of Luigi. Waluigi is shown causing local havoc in most games he appears in alongside his partner Wario. Waluigi is not instinctively evil or the antagonist (not counting DDR), as a matter of fact, he shows... read more

He murdered Bowser instantly in Mario Party 3. He is therefore #1. Just look at how he plays tennis. He's so powerful they had to keep him as an assist trophy in Smash Bros.

Waluigi is the Master Hand, ruler of all things Nintendo.

Waluigi is very strong! He kicks Bowser in Mario Party 3.

Birdo Birdo is a dinosaur that is well known for her (or his) confused Gender. It was originally stated that Birdo was a male who believed he was a female, but this was changed in later games. Birdo is commonly referred to as a girl, however, they are in a relationship with Yoshi. Birdo first appeared in... read more
Fawful Fawful, known in Japan as Gerakobits, is a fictional character appearing in the Mario & Luigi series of role-playing video games developed by AlphaDream.

Fawful has once wielded the Dark Star. That's gotta put him high on this list.

Princess Daisy Princess Daisy is a fictional character in the Mario series of video games, in which she is the princess of the fictional region of Sarasaland.

Daisy debuted in Super Mario Land in 1989, after few other appearances she disappeared for nine years until she was brought back in Mario Tennis (2000).

Daisy... read more

While she isn't on Mario's level, she is quite powerful. While she isn't as physically strong as Bowser and doesn't have as much magic as Zelda, you cannot underestimate her.

Rosalina uses her wand to do magic. Peach uses her emotions. But Daisy doesn't need a wand or loads of toads to protect her. She can slap Bowser away with her own hands. She is super tough. If I were you, I would not want to get in her way! (Unless you want to get slapped to the moon like Bowser.)

If Daisy can slap Bowser thousands of miles away and is already strong and tough as a tomboy, she can easily make the number one spot.

Metal Mario Metal Mario is a character that appears in both the Mario series and the Super Smash Bros, where he made his first appearance in the Nintendo 64 version. He's pretty similar to Mario when using a Metal Cap, but instead of being a transformation, Metal Mario is his own character.

Metal Mario is Mario but metal. How is he not higher on the rankings?

Count Bleck Count Bleck, true name Lord Blumiere, is the central antagonist turned anti-hero of the 2007 Nintendo Wii videogame Super Paper Mario.

Count Bleck is the creator of the Chaos Heart and the Void. The Void was an inter-dimensional rift in the fabric of space-time destined to destroy the multiverse. Only the power of eight pure hearts could stop the Chaos Heart and destroy the Void.

A lot of people thought Dimentio was more powerful than Count Bleck because, after Count Bleck was defeated, Dimentio stole the Chaos Heart and fused it with himself and Luigi (who was the perfect host for the Chaos Heart) to become Super Dimentio. However, if we look at their stats, we find that Super Dimentio, despite being a fusion of Dimentio, the Chaos Heart, and Luigi, was still only as powerful as Count Bleck. Super Dimentio has 200 health. Count Bleck does 8 damage. It would take Count Bleck 25 hits to destroy Super Dimentio. Count Bleck has 150 health, and Super Dimentio does 6 damage. It would take Super Dimentio 25 hits to destroy Count Bleck! They're equal, despite Dimentio having literally fused himself with Luigi and the Chaos Heart.

This guy literally almost destroyed the Mario Multiverse! He can summon vortexes, slow down and speed up time, and can fly (useful since he has no legs). He can teleport at will and, despite being a 2D enemy, he doesn't need to flip into 3D because his attacks are already three-dimensional. He is the most powerful villain Mario has ever faced. Had Mario not had the help of Bowser, Luigi, and Peach, and had Dimentio not been secretly plotting against him the whole time, Count Bleck would have won. Even Mario couldn't beat Count Bleck without the help of three other people and one of Count Bleck's villains betraying him. Because if it weren't for Dimentio, Mario would have never found Peach and would have died before he even reached Merlee's Mansion. Count Bleck is truly the single most powerful Mario character Nintendo has ever created.

Ludwig Ludwig Von Koopa is a villain in the Super Mario Franchise. He is the self-proclaimed leader of the Koopalings and has a pompous and arrogant personality. He is said to have all the powers of the other six Koopalings. He can clone himself, cause earthquakes, teleport, and shoot lightning bolts from... read more

He's normally the seventh boss in Mario games. In Mario Bros. Wii, there are platforms he lands on, making it hard to hit him.

He is powerful, can shoot a follow bolt, can shoot four bolts at the same time, can flutter jump, and can turn into three!

Tied with Roy and Iggy for most powerful Koopaling, you should not mess with this kid.

Kamek Kamek is a common enemy in the Mario Bros. Franchise. He usually appears in New Super Mario Bros. Games, Super Mario Bros. Games, or other similar games. He also appears in spinoff titles, like Mario Party, in which he is not a playable character but creates an obstacle for the players on their way... read more

Kamek is a powerful wizard who increased the size and strength of his master, Bowser. He also makes powerful spells to stop the menace Mario, and some worked - like disguising himself as Princess Peach.

Gold Mario

Mario but with more durability and most likely strength.

Gold Mario can turn a lot of things into gold coins!

Mario but gold. He can turn everything into coins and has a fireball that is made out of gold.

Vivian

Vivian is very extra and really super powerful! In the field, Vivian is able to pull Mario into the shadows in order to avoid detection. This can be used for many purposes, including evading roaming enemies and eavesdropping.

These are some of Vivian's moves: Shade Fist, Veil, Fiery Jinx, Infatuate.

Cappy

If Cappy can take control of nearly anything, then he could take control of Rosalina, therefore becoming the most powerful being in the universe.

Shadow Queen The Shadow Queen is the overarching antagonist and final boss of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. She is widely considered one of the most difficult bosses in the Paper Mario series.

Uhh, really, guys?! The Shadow Queen literally wasn't at full power when fighting Mario. She was weakened by Peach fighting against her, was only a spirit, and was still insanely hard to beat.

She should be higher, but Super Dimentio is still more powerful. Like him, she was entirely invincible without the Crystal Stars.

Second to absolutely no one. Only when she's handicapped in some way can she be beaten, or by getting sealed away, it seems.
