Top 10 Wings of Fire Characters Who Deserved Better
-
Arctic
He was killed by his own son. And that is really sad, not to mention that he was stabbed in the foot before, then forced to disembowel himself.
I wish it would have described it in more detail, but I do feel really sorry for Arctic. Why couldn't Darkstalker just give him a do-over? Then they could both get along again, and Arctic could have died naturally. None of this would have happened, and it would have been a whole lot less violent. But of course, that would take all the fun out of it, and who would want that?
I still feel sorry for Arctic.
Darkdrop the Rain/Night
Arctic deserved better. He was misunderstood and, although he was bad in some parts, he was a decent character. He didn't deserve his disemboweling.
-
Kestrel
She didn't deserve to die. She was one of my favorite characters because she was a mother and couldn't even see her children grow up. She never knew her dragonets were even alive. I wish she could've seen her dragonets, Sky and Peril.
She could have been more important in the series if Blister hadn't totally murdered her.
Tui straight up murdered her after setting her up for so much. Poor Kestrel, poor Peril.

Darkstalker
Darkstalker was brought into a really bad life. He had a father who hated him, a mother who loved him but had doubts, a horrible queen, and racism for being half IceWing.
Also, I would like to point out that Indigo was basically setting him up to become dangerous. All he wanted was love. He had a sister, a love, and a mother (who got kidnapped and tortured for years) who all betrayed him, except for his sister.
He definitely deserved better.
He shouldn't have gotten a jerky ex-girlfriend who ran away to be with some other idiot the minute she shoved her friend under a mountain for two thousand years.
Jaguar the RainWing

Clearsight
She literally had to say goodbye to the love of her life, her two best friends, her parents, her would-be sister-in-law, and everything she ever knew. She shouldn't have had to bury the "love of her life." She shouldn't have trusted Darkstalker. But she is the wisest dragon in all of WoF.
She literally had to say goodbye to the love of her life, her two best friends, her parents, her would-be sister-in-law, and everything she ever knew.
At least she found happiness with Sunstreak.
She shouldn't have had to bury the "love of her life." She shouldn't have trusted Darkstalker.
-
Foeslayer
She was imprisoned by a vengeful queen for stealing their animus prince for two thousand years, and then had to basically destroy her own son years later. She never saw her daughter again, was already having problems with her husband, then found out he was gone forever.
She had a mother who only approved of her relationship for animus grandchildren and was always scolding her, an entire tribe hating her to the extent of going to war, and she was killed over and over again. So yeah, she deserved better.
-
Whiteout
First of all, I love Whiteout. Second of all, her story is heartbreaking. She was born with parents fighting, and then Darkstalker. Her father hated her, Foeslayer got abused, and everyone thought she was weird.
No one except her brother would take her like a dragon. Then, Arctic used her. He took Whiteout to the Ice Kingdom, stealing her life. Then, her brother killed her father in front of her eyes. Even though Arctic wasn't a good father, SHE STILL HAD GRIEF, WHICH IS SOMETHING!
Her mother got captured, and her brother got put to sleep, as her friends left. Everybody thought she would end up like her brother. No one deserves that, but still, she forgave and became a better dragon unlike others! I LOVE HER!
-
Winter
Winter is literally the fandom's enemy for little to no reason other than "He was a jerk to Moon and his friends." He did have character development, but people ignore that.
Other than being hated, his only family except Hailstorm hates him. And Hailstorm was captured for years and even brainwashed.
So basically, Winter had no emotional support whatsoever before the Jade Mountain Academy. And you wonder why he has anger issues?! Seriously?!
I probably would also be mentally unstable with anger issues if I were in Winter's place.
His entire family hated him, besides Hailstorm, who was missing for years and wasn't in his right mind when he was freed and had to kill him. The love of his life chose someone else, and he nearly died. Multiple times.
-
Fathom
Poor Fathom. So sad, and he lost his love for ages, felt betrayed so many times, and even his own sister hated him for being an animus, which is really cool to be.
-
Peril
If you remember in Escaping Peril, Peril was shocked when she burned the eggs in the prongle.
The only dragon she trusted was obviously manipulating her. She also had no good parental figures for all of her childhood. Then she learned Kestrel was her mother and had no time to bond with her before the author had her killed off.
Her father is no better than Scarlet, and she is hated by her own tribe (except Ruby after Escaping Peril). So yeah, she deserves the world, and Clay.
The dragon she trusted was manipulating her the whole time.
Her mother died before she could really connect with her, her father is evil, the dragon she loves is oblivious to the fact, and basically everyone hates her because of Scarlet and her firescales.
So, deserves the whole world.

Glacier
She almost made me cry. Saddest death in the series.
I wish she hadn't died. She is such a good queen.

Carnelian
I cried when she died. She didn't deserve to.
She was just a battle-ridden soldier who, sure, was a bit grumpy, but fine otherwise. If she'd survived the bomb, I would've liked to see her connect more with the Jade Winglet and go on adventures with them, possibly falling in love too!
-
Starflight
He definitely deserves better.
He was blinded, found out the love of his life loved him as a brother, and has a terrible family, one of whom is stuck in quicksand.
Poor Starflight. Everything happened to him. Betrayal by his family, blindness, horror moments, and stress.
He shouldn't have been blinded, even though it was supposed to ruin his life.
-
Glory
Glory is the best already, but she didn't need that whole underestimated thing. She is awesome!!! Also, Kestrel was just being cruel, and so were Dune and Webs, who is, well, you know, lazy? Boring? Selfish? Cowardly?
- Glory Is the Best
-
Indigo
She is so awesome that dragons should have respected her more, and she should have been famous like Fathom, Clearsight, and all the other famous dragons.
-
Kinkajou
-
Freedom
I like to defend that she's good, because she saved a continent, and unlike the other heroes, all that was in it for her was subtraction. Her death was necessary, though.
-
Crystal
-
Moonwatcher
-
Orchid
She was imprisoned and experimented on by Mastermind and thought her lover would abandon her. Poor girl.
