Hetalia: Axis Powers Fans

CommentsTopPopularNewest

Don't get me wrong. I like Hetalia and understand some of the humor because I remember certain things from my history classes. I just find it irritating that a certain 5% of people would make the fandom look bad with immature behavior. Please do the fandom a favor and show some self-control. D:

Yeah I agree I remember the good o'l days when we could just watch the series for a laugh and for fun, we could share what we liked about the anime...but then things changed all of a sudden and the fandom just became awful and it just got worst and worst over time and eventually that made me leave it. Now don't get me wrong here I still like the anime and watch it few times here and there but now it's kind of something that's in the past and I avoid the fandom as much as possible which makes me really sad not just cause of the fact that the fandom is ruined but the entire series got ruined by weird and messed up people I have never looked at it the same again...and I never will.

The funny thing is that most of us fans realise we're a bunch of garbage cans shipping land masses together. We know we're absolutely terrible and we practically bathe in that fact. If we're not the worst fanbase ever, we definitely will go down in history for being close to it. One you join us... Ne ne papa no way out.

While I have met some normal Hetalia fans who just engage in discussion or crack jokes, there's always the few who will take things to the extreme and try to ruin the convention for everyone else there.

I used to be in the fandom because other cultures and languages interest me, especially when people are jokingly have fun with it (the pre justices). And really, Hetalia IS hilarious, especially when your country is one of the mains. You can laugh about your own mistakes.
But the fandom. Oh god, let's not even get started. All they can do is ship the characters. EVERYTHING IS SHIPPING. And if you don't support one of the main ships, you receive hate. Also there are terrible city OCs that have absolutely nothing to do with the actual city's culture.

I am indeed a HUGE fan of Hetalia, however, there is one flaw about that: FAN BASE. FAN F-ING BASE. Out of everywhere, there comes a huge flood of shipping art when you only want to find a picture of your favourite character, for example; and also, speaking of that, what also makes me cringe in pain is... Yes, ship wars: God, I am already SO SICK of all these ship wars when one person tries to prove their ship is canon, another one claims it is not... Immortal combat, dammit.

I actually is a Hetalia fan. It's funny, and make me get interested in history. But its fandom just keeps getting on my nerves. I don't really hate all of the ships, some of them are historically accurate, but the rest are NOT. For example, Prussia and Canada are not relevant in any perspective but PruCan gets a bunch of supporters. And the OCs are terrible too. Most of them are just irrelevant to the actual place and its culture. I guess not the whole fandom is that bad, but some fangirls/fanboys just turn it into one of the worst fandom in the Internet.

I really enjoyed Hetalia. But then I discovered fandom of it. And my brain burst. But I love it. It is so... Without any sense, ship everything, bleeding eyes, oh-my-god-why-I-opened-this, and a lot of just what.

Look, I know the fandom was rabid, but it's not bad now. Feel free to join it, it's a pretty good fandom now. It wasn't in 2011 and before, though. I love this show a lot but won't do shipping wars or anything. (most people don't these days)

If I have to hear the word "tomato" used as a joke-- just the word tomato-- I'm going to strangle someone.

Okay, so in the past I actually pointed out something rather racist about the fandom and because of it I was attacked to the point where I actually was going to hurt/kill myself. Looking back on it, I realize that I shouldn't have reacted so poorly but in all fairness both the fandom and show itself are bad.

I love Hetalia, but shipping just does not work with this show. Like Invader ZIM, Magic School Bus, or Rugrats, you cannot ship these characters. They're COUNTRIES, people! Countries!

I end up watching Hetalia videos every year or so, because some of them are quite funny, but the reason I'm not a fan of APH is because the fandom is nuts. I always see something which makes me think 'nope,' then leave, then come back a year later, then get scared off by the fans again. And the public cosplaying is just so cringey.

Ain't as bad as pewdiepie fans am I right?

The ships are strange, how can countries even do anything without its people? Also, you do not learn all of history from Hetalia. You get inspired to learn more.

I love Hetalia so much, but the fan base is a bit for the lack of a better word... intense. They make it seem as if it is a yaoi anime its is not!

The Hetalia fandom is what ruins it all. I mean seriously they take it too seriously like they can learn something from it..

I was once just reading comments, until someone's comment mentioned Hetalia and someone was like: "HETALIA! " Seriously...

Used to be in this fandom. The bad and embarrassing fanbase convinced me to leave.

Haha the fandom is awful! I know that this isn't factual, but I want to comment on other things, so I just voted for the first thing I saw. I do know the fandom, though, and that its not good.

I used to be in the fandom because other cultures and languages interest me, especially when people are jokingly have fu with it (the pre justices). And really, Hetalia IS hilarious, especially when your country is one of the mains. You can laugh about your own mistakes.

People get really INTO it that becomes really annoying, it is supposed to be dead but every time a event that causes surprise in all the world it comes back to life

I'm a fan. I understand with the intense shipping, but I have one and won't judge other people's ships

I love Hetalia a lot, but the fandom literally makes me not want to love it anymore. Say you don't like GerIta or UsUk (Which, by the way, I hate those ships), they will literally shun you or bash you. You aren't really allowed an opinion in the Hetalia fandom. I'm literally ashamed to be in the Hetalia fandom.

Actually so far in the Hetalia fandom, in my point if view, the fandom is pretty peaceful and I don't why this is #12 or on the list AT ALL. So far, its been the best fandom I've seen. I heard that there have been some shipping wars but I've never seen them sooo... - Vitalia
