Top 10 Worst Theatrical Movies of January-June 2017MegaSoulhero The year isn't over yet, but here are the worst movies to hit theaters in the first 6 months of 2017.
The Top Ten
I didn't even finish this one! You can tell just from the beginning where this is gonna go! I absolutely hated Fifty Shades of Grey! One of the worst films ever made! And I was able to tell that Fifty Shades Darker was going in the same direction! I'll try to watch the rest of it later, but from what I saw in the movie, I knew I wasn't going to like it. And there's gonna be a third one! Because they need to make a movie about all of the books! You know a franchise is bad when a parody movie is better than the movie that it's parodying! I would rather watch Fifty Shades of Black again rather than one of the actual Fifty Shades movies! These movies are torture! They are worse than Twilight! Awful! - MegaSoulhero
I made the right decision of not paying to see this in a theater. Instead, I found it online and watched it to see how bad it was. WOW! It was horrendous! But that was actually pretty obvious. All of these Transformers movies are practically the same movie! They give us nothing new! Another thing that bothered me about this film was the humor. I hate when these movie try too hard to be funny! None of the jokes were funny! Optimus Prime barely appears even though he's seen a lot in advertisement. Just look at the poster. Some of the characters don't really do much. Laura Haddock as Vivian is clearly just there to be the sexy female character. Other than that, she doesn't have much of a purpose. The action scenes were atrocious! The CGI itself isn't bad, but it's just so all over the place! This movie isn't as bad as Age of Extinction, but it is the second worst Transformers film! - MegaSoulhero
Another bad movie from a dead franchise that overstayed it's welcome!
Worst movie of 2017 so far
The Boss Baby is Dreamworks's worst movie. Why was this made? It's such a stupid idea for a movie! There is absolutely nothing funny about it! The jokes are very childish! The story is very generic! Two people who hate each other end up working together and start to bond. Something that Toy Story did but that movie did it a lot better! The animation feels like a step down from Dreamworks usually does. It's not bad animation, but it's nothing amazing. The characters are very irritating and forgettable! The baby doesn't even have a name! I'm just glad Dreamworks managed to get back on track with Captain Underpants. Which was a surprisingly great film. - MegaSoulhero
Emma Watson sucks! Can we just stop casting her in movies? She has no talent! "Oh, but she was in Harry Potter, so that automatically makes her a great actress! " Yeah, if you consider talking without showing any emotion good acting. To her credit, her performance in The Circle is better than in Beauty and the Beast. But that's because she doesn't sing in this movie and isn't acting in the exact opposite of how the character she is playing is supposed to act. With that being said, this is still a bad performance considering she doesn't show any emotion! I'm seriously thinking about doing a "Mega Rants" on Emma Watson. As for the rest of the movie, it's just boring. They hire such a great actor like Tom Hanks and he's barely even in it! His talent is absolutely wasted in this movie! Bill Paxton is also in this movie. I feel kind of bad that this had to be his last film. The writing was bad, the story was weak, and the trailers were misleading. Terrible. - MegaSoulhero
Come on, tom hanks & Emma Watson! Your better than this! >:(
OVERRATED! Quite possibly the most overrated movie to come out this year! This is a remake that definitely didn't need to happen! I'm not a huge fan of King Kong, but it definitely deserves better than this! The movie mostly focuses on the human characters. If the humans are the main focus, they should at least be interesting. And they're not! I really like the actors in this movie, but their characters are written so poorly! The effects aren't good either. There are moments when you can easily tell that they used green screen! It did not look convincing! There's not a lot of action in the movie, but when it happens, I guess it can be pretty entertaining. I just wish there was more of that. Kong: Skull Island is such a bland an unnecessary movie. - MegaSoulhero
None of the characters are interesting (Except, for John C Riley and Samuel L Jackson), the musical score is generic (Henry, you can do better than that! ), it's unnecessary and it rips on the Jurassic Park franchise! While, Not as bad as the Jurassic Park III, It fails to be a great movie and to exceed expectations. I guess, it can be entertaining at times, but other than that, it sucks!
What? , this is good, much better than fate of furious, - VideoGamefan5
And cue the Nat King Cole song. Honestly, why was Rosario Dawson in this? Ironically, she was also in one of the best movies of the year. And that movie was Lego Batman! I'll admit though, she did a pretty decent job in this movie. I can't say the same for the other actors though! It seemed like they were all just phoning it in because they didn't care. And I can understand that because this movie has such terrible writing! This looked like it could've been a good movie, but it failed! And the ending is just awful! This is a very forgettable movie! - MegaSoulhero
Unforgettable? Ha! More like forgettable!
This is not a good year for Scarlett Johansson. But in this movie, she must've been desperate for money. I'm not a fan of movies that involve people having over the top parties and getting drunk at those parties and getting lucky and what not. You know what I mean. But that's not what this movie is entirely about. What it's actually about is actually much worse! The girls kill a stripper! That's something I never thought I'd say. So most of the movie is just them trying to not get in trouble. This movie is filled with nonsensical stuff that are used to keep the plot moving. Also, the plot twist involving the stripper is just too stupid. Most of the actors weren't even trying! Scarlett Johansson was HORRIBLE here! She seemed to be acting so serious in a movie that's more comedic. It doesn't really work. But I understand that this was kind of out of her comfort zone. Rough Night is such a rough movie! - MegaSoulhero
Where to even start? Sadly this has not been a good year for the lovely Scar Jo. I haven't seen this yet, but I just don't know what to expect after the film"s somewhat mixed reviews. What if Chris Stuckmann is right about this movie? What if the negative reviews are right? I just don't know what to believe! Don't get me wrong I love Scar Jo and all! who doesn't! She does look so sexy in this mo... I mean even though the trailers looked rubbish, it had a female driven cast, the plot sounded solid and it had a female director (One of the many reasons why wonder woman worked), so this movie could've worked despite it looking ridiculous. But so far this has been her weakest year sadly! First of all this movie is out of Scarlett's comfort zone as well as mine, second of all this movie might be as bad as the hate she gets on this website, and last thing, she looks so sexy in that red dress and those curves! Beautiful cur.. there are a lot of great Scarlett Johansson flicks you could be ...more
Johansson & Mckinnon are way better than this, but this is surprisingly ranked higher than some of the other crappy blockbusters on Rotten Tomatoes for now. Higher than Judge cringe, King Arthur: Legend of the Terrible Reboot, Suicide Garbage, Transformers: The Last Disappointment (Not really! There is more garbage to come! ) And Crapwatch! At least, Scarlett got a chance to get drunk with her elderly look-a-like.
The Dark Universe is not off to a great start. Also, why does it seem like everything needs a cinematic universe now? I know Marvel wasn't the first to do a cinematic universe, but I feel like they made it so popular to the point where a lot of movies are gonna start doing it. I already knew the 2017 Mummy movie was going to suck, but I was still surprised by how bad it was. Tom Cruise has been in worse movies, but this still isn't good. Tom Cruise gives a good performance but the movie seems to mostly focus on his character to the point where the movie is all about him. When it should be about the actual mummy. I actually enjoyed Sofia Boutella in this movie. She was the best thing about it. I also though Russel Crowe was pretty good. However, there wasn't really anything memorable about the movie. All of the previous Mummy movies were better than this one! There was no point in making this! - MegaSoulhero
The one from 1999 was awesome, but this one was mediocre at best!
Almost the same plot of that overrated reboot of 1999. 7/10
SHUT UP HATERS AND SHEEPLE MOB WITHOUT CRITERIA! I'm very sick of the people saying: 'the darc uniberse iss dead' 'the gorzt Tom Cruize mobie', stupid village angry sheeple mob without they own mind. All repeat the same thing of the partial reviews and critics. They like the one from 99 but there the mummy is NOT the protagonist to (different from the original) but they hate that here Mummy is not a protagonist either, you hypocrites double standard. The superhero movies are 2 hour trailers, but here they hated the references to Gill-Man or vampires in Prodigium. The Dark Universe is a full all new and modern remakes of the Classic Monsters, but you prefered action-films of pathetic superhero genre CGI full, and partially get double standars with another films like The Mummy. Now I hope I hope that Bride of Frankenstein be better received. You haters without life only enjoy ruining everything and destroying franchises for their pathetic virtual masks without personality, or ignorance.V 1 Comment
This is the worst movie ever.
This movie was awesome.
Stop giving this Feminazi attention!
Why do people think making live action remakes of anime is a good idea? Anime already sucks but the live action remakes turn out to be worse than the original source material! Just look at Dragonball: Evolution! In this version of Ghost in the Shell, the robot character is played by Scarlett Johansson. Yep! The main character got white washed! I really hope that doesn't happen to Mulan. The best thing about about this movie would have to be the visuals! If this doesn't win an Oscar for best visual effects, then something is seriously wrong! As for the rest of the movie, it's pretty much dumbed down. The story is different in such a terrible way! The original Ghost in the Shell wasn't good, but after watching this, I have a little more respect for it! And the worst part is, we don't get to see Scarlett Johansson naked! This movie sucks. Just stick with the original. - MegaSoulhero
Overrated to the max - VideoGamefan5
"Hey! You know that show from the 80s called Baywatch? Well let's make a movie based on it like they did with CHiPs and 21 Jump Street! Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron seem to be available, so let's have them star in it to get more girls to see the movie! And we'll add a bunch of girls with huge boobs so a bunch of men will rush to the theaters too! " It seems as though Dwayne Johnson will agree to be in anything these days. This is supposed to be an action-comedy but I didn't even laugh once! And the action wasn't very good! There was one scene where they rescue people from a burning boat and the fire looks extremely fake! There is way too much sexual humor! It gets very out of control! I also hate that editing where they move in slow motion and for a second they speed up and then go slow again. It just gets annoying! I knew this movie was going to be bad, but this is ridiculous! - MegaSoulhero
This movie and a few others this year proved that star power cannot save a movie from bombing the Box Office. I knew this movie was going to be bad!
This movie Makes a great addition to disappointing movies to throw at the wall along with Unfunny Night, Pirates of the Cash grab, Jurassic Kong, forgettable, and many more! This along with all the other movies on this list are the main reason why I don't Like going to the cinemas anymore! Why watch crap when you can watch great stuff like Memento, Saving Private Ryan, Terminator 2: Judgement day, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Fantasia and many more at home! But there's plenty of great movies this year like Wonder Woman and Logan that are worth watching!
This was good
I actually hated this one to be honest.
It was more of a kids film
It looks good - VideoGamefan5
How is that bad?
Dead franchises tell no more tales
It wasn't bad, just overrated... - judo8alex
Why is this on the list? It comes out in July! - MegaSoulhero
The perfect example of an Oscar bait movie!
The black version of Rough Night! Not really, but it does look stupid.
