Best Actors In the Sam Raimi Spiderman Trilogy

The actors can come from any of the original Spiderman movies, so Spiderman (2002), Spiderman 2 (2004) and Spiderman 3 (2007) actors can be included.
The Top Ten
1 J.K. Simmons - J Jonah Jameson

Of all the actors in the trilogy J.K. nailed Jameson's disgruntled and angry nature, and his scenes always provide a good laugh throughout.
The reason why his character isn't in The Amazing Spiderman was that they couldn't get another actor as good as J.K. Simmons. That should speak volumes.

Defiant key the veins of the movies!

2 Tobey Maguire - Peter Parker/Spiderman Tobias Vincent "Tobey" Maguire is an American actor and film producer who gained recognition for his film roles in Pleasantville, The Cider House Rules, Wonder Boys, Spider-Man, Seabiscuit, Spider-Man 2, The Good German, Spider-Man 3, Brothers, and The Great Gatsby. He was nominated for the Screen Actors ...read more.

For me Tobey is the definitive Peter Parker. Sure Andrew Garfield is a good actor and might be a more realistic teen, but Tobey always seemed more likable in general more believable as a nerd.

3 Alfred Molina - Dr Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus

A scientist with a dream that collapses before his very eyes Otto is a villain who you can really feel sympathy for when things went wrong for him, but still legitimately believable as a threat.

4 Willem Dafoe - Norman Osborn/Green Goblin William J. "Willem" Dafoe is an American actor. A member of the experimental theater company The Wooster Group, he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Platoon (1986) and Shadow of the Vampire (2000). He is also well known for his performances as Jesus Christ in The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) and Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in Spider-Man (2002)

Sure he may have been over the top and silly, but his on screen presence was always fun to watch, plus the Jekyll and Hyde like persona was portrayed very well here.

5 James Franco - Harry Osborn James Edward Franco is an American actor and filmmaker. His first prominent acting role was the lead character Daniel Desario on the short-lived cult hit television program Freaks and Geeks.

Whilst he didn't have much to do in Spiderman 1 his character arc grew over the course of 3 movies and was faced with some serious conflicts like believing his best friend killed his father. Good actor overall.

6 Cliff Robertson - Ben Parker

Cliff certainly got down Uncle Ben as a compassionate man who shares concern for Peter and always wants to do what's right. His death scene was also really sad.

7 Rosemary Harris - May Parker

As Peter's only family left she does her best to be there for Peter when he needs her. Whilst distraught over her husband's death she still manages to be a sweet and compassionate woman.

8 Thomas Haden Church - Flint Marko/Sandman

One couldn't help but feel sympathy for a guy who got mixed up in a bad crowd trying to save the life of his daughter. For more proof of this just watch his birth scene, great acting without needing any dialogue.

9 Kirsten Dunst - Mary Jane Watson Kirsten Caroline Dunst is an American actress, singer and model. She made her film debut in Woody Allen's short film Oedipus Wrecks for the anthology film New York Stories.

Sure she may play the damsel in distress, but she does show traits of being a nice character I.E. she's opposed to Flash bullying Peter. Also in the sequels she's more self dependent and wanting to make her own decisions in life.

10 Bryce Dallas Howard - Gwen Stacy Bryce Dallas Howard is an American film actress and director. The daughter of director Ron Howard, she made her acting debut as an extra in her father's film Parenthood and went on to have small roles in films and make stage appearances for the next several years.

Personally, didn't like her portrayal of Gwen Stacy.

The Contenders
11 Elya Baskin - Mr. Ditkovich
12 Topher Grace - Eddie Brock/Venom

OK some of you may hate me for this but I thought Topher Grace did well in his respective role. His character may have been more jerk than threat but he at least seemed to have fun with what he was doing.

13 Randy Savage - Bonesaw McGraw Randy Mario Poffo, better known by his ring name "Macho Man" Randy Savage, was an American professional wrestler and color commentator best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation and later the World Championship Wrestling.
14 Stan Lee - Unnamed Characters Stan Lee (December 28, 1922-November 12, 2018) was a comic-book writer, editor, publisher, media producer, television host, actor and former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. He is best regarded as an influential figure for the comic book industry and general entertainment.
