Top Ten Best Indie Rock Bands
The Contenders: Page 12
Can't believe this isn't higher on the list. Guess they're debut album, Days Are Gone has only released recently meaning they've only just started to become known. The vocalists are triplets and there songs are feel-good, great beat, amazing lyrics, dance too, pop your head on ipod. One peice of evidence of how good they are is that they're song 'The Wire' was number 13 on triple J's hottest 100 for 2013: you need to be a least good to get on too the list, and triple j is known to have great taste and good indie bands
Give them a go.
Danielle (24, guitar, lead vocals)
Este (27, bass, harmonies, occasional lead vocal)
Alana (21, keyboards, harmonies, occasional lead vocal)
The Grandmothers of "indie" and post-punk from the 60's. If you don't like their music, you don't know anything about what indie really means.
They are the best band ever. Listen to them
The Format is one of the best indie rock bands, and should definitely be higher on this list. The Format doesn't get as much attention as they deserve, and that's a shame because their last album "Dog Problems" is a really great album. Nate Ruess and Sam Means really write some great songs together. I'd recommend you listen to I'm Actual, Dog Problems (the song), Snails, Inches and Falling, Time Bomb, and The First Single. Once you listen to those songs, you'll want to vote The Format up!
Amazing absolutely amazing band. Silver Lining is my jam! In Guards We Trust album ROCK SOLID
I think Last Dinosaurs are really low on the list is because they came in very silent. Not a lot of people know about these guys. I have loved these guys for a long time and they may not have a lot of songs. BUT! If more people actually heard these guys, this would at least make it on the top 10's
Band from Australia. Never "in a million years" would they come to do a concert in Hawaii even though they have songs name 'Honolulu' and 'Hawaii'. Sean's voice is perfect, and the rhythm is amazing. What an underrated band...

Absolute beast, lump, blank baby, peaches, these are just a few of the amazing tunes written by these guys great to listen to and great to play
Zachary Cole Smith, formerly a guitarist for Beach Fossils, creates something truly unique in his band, DIIV's debut album Oshin. The made-up words Smith uses truly are a testament to how unique this album is. Take one listen and you'll suddenly feel as if you're swimming in cold water. All of the members are Water signs, and it truly shows. It's more of a liquid experience than I have ever felt whilst listening to an album. The first half of this Album is calm with cooling pop songs, while contrastingly the second half feels more energetic. With DIIV's biggest hit, "Doused" you can finally see a glimpse of the things this band is headed toward: a more energetic feel while keeping the same serenity with which they began their career. There's nothing life-changing about this album but it truly is a sensory experience. It is more guitar-led than vocally led which adds a unique element. I would recommend this band and album to everyone I know and I cannot wait until their new album drops ...more
They're must listen! Venice & Pioneers simply unique!
