The Top Ten

1
Appetite For Destruction - Guns N Roses
These were the days when Guns N' Roses were #1. This album was the only reason they were as big as they were. This album is sensational! Legendary!
Best album ever. This should be #1. Axl and Slash rock. Sweet child O mine best song ever!
When Guns and Roses was the best...

2Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
Led Zeppelin. Country musicians. Blues musicians. Rock musicians. The band with the greatest drummer of all time, one of the greatest guitarists and possibly the best lead singer. Oh, and John Paul Jones - a one man band who gave Zep the edge and yet is often overlooked. Bit like a cake mix, they're outstanding on their own, but mix 'em together and you have something far, far superior. Best band ever.
The greatest rock album ever... But only real rockers could understand it. Why is Guns N' Roses on top? Appetite is a very good album and maybe the best debut album too but it is definitely not the best rock album of all time... And what the hell's linkin park doing on this list?
By far their best album. Why is Escape on here? I mean it's an ok album but NUMBER 1? That's just biased.

3Nevermind - Nirvana
This album changed rock and I'm sorry if you don't know this album you have no TASTE in MUSIC PEOPLE!
This is one of the greatest albums with some of the greatest tracks of all time for example. Smells like teen spirit lithium come as you are in bloom drain you polly are all great tracks can't believe kurt killed himself but nirvana will always live on in my heart let it be!
This album changed the definition of rock music and introduced a new type of sub genre, grunge, using Kurt's gritty vocals and wasted attitude. Absolute legend.

4Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
It is hard to pick between this and Zeppelin IV, but overall as an album the songs are put together so perfectly. This will honestly be the most well spent 42 minutes of your life. And honestly... Journey is alright but it has nothing on Floyd, Zeppelin, Queen, and a bunch of other bands.
Led Zeppelin IV and Night at the Opera are also really epic but this one can really change your mind. The Dark Side of the moon has a concept, a whole lotta great wise lyrics and I love albums that are like a trip into the music.
This album experimented so many sounds, every song fades beautifully into the next one, and its the 2nd most sold album in rock history

5Night at the Opera - Queen
Definitely THE ALBUM you must hear before you die
Clicked the wrong button -. -
You're Joking. This has got to be number 1. Guns and roses absolutely suck compared to Brian May alone! But adding freddy mercury completely blew queen off the top.

6Hybrid Theory - Linkin Park
best album ever! This is the album that has made linkin park one of the greatest bands of 21st century!
It deserves number 1 position... No match for chester's voice
PhaH. Bunch of pusseys who don't deserve to be here.

7Master of Puppets - Metallica
The Greatest album ever. This album has 5 songs that that just as monumental as the band itself. You can listen to just one song fifty times and it will still sound fresh. Other songs are great too, but can't be compared to other songs in this album. The worst song in this album-Leper Messiah is it self a great song. This album just pushed metal beyond everything. Undoubtedly number 1. And it's dedicated to living memory of The Great CLIFF BURTON.
I think this should be higher, this should be at least in the Top 5
How can Hybrid Theory be above the greatest album of all time? Master Of Puppets is the best album ever created! 8 songs, 8 masterpieces, 8 gifts from heaven.

8Back in Black - AC/DC
This is the best Rock Album ever, no doubt about that. The whole Album is a masterpiece; especially Hells Bells, Back in Black and You shook me all night long are just brilliant. It's a mystery for me, why it is only on Rank No. 12.
This is the Greatest Album In all the time! AC/DC ROCKS! And they have one of the best albums... Back In Black! This Should be Number 1!
people this is THE BEST rock album the only thing that beat it or could beat it is thriller or if AC/DC came out with a non live greatest hits album

9The Beatles (The White Album) - The Beatles
Top 10 list of best rock albums of all time could be easily filled with Beatles albums only. What makes The Beatles (The White Album) outstanding is that this is their only double album, meaning two times more music to enjoy.
The Beatles are not just one of the best rock acts of all time: they are considered to be some of the greatest musicians of all time. Surely, their works should be more represented on this list.
No one on this list is even close when it comes to diversity...

Whos next and Quadrophenia are the best Albums ever!

13The Number of The Beast - Iron Maiden
Dickinson, Harris, Murray, Smith & Burr... Nothing more to say...

14The Doors - The Doors
About half of the bands on this list grew up with posters of The Doors and Jim Morrison tacked up on the wall in their bedroom, basement, or garage.
From Billie Joe Armstrong's swagger, to Freddie Mercury's theatrics, to Kurt Cobain's sullen countenance, to Axl Roses' leather pants; it all started with Morrison.

15Exile On Main St. - The Rolling Stones
Altho not appreciated when it was released, over time, it has become recognised as one of the best Albums ever.. Certainly the best by the Stones

16Colour and the Shape - Foo Fighters
Definitely the Foo's best. Everlong, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, Hey! Johnny Park, and so much more.

17The Wall - Pink Floyd
How can the wall be 27? Come on people! Another brick in the wall, in the flesh, young lust, etc...

18Use Your Illusion I - Guns N Roses

19Quadrophenia - The Who

20Meteora - Linkin Park
Every song on this album is amazing! How is this not in the top ten and Hybrid Theory is? This Album is Way Better than Hybrid Theory! This Album is a piece of Art!

And where is AMERICAN IDIOT
I had decisions on what to vote master of puppets by metallica or dookie by green day. I chose this because not all the songs on M.O. P are that good.

49In Utero - Nirvana
Top 10 I mean come on this album is a work of art no matter how messed up it is

50...And Justice for All - Metallica

51Highway to Hell - AC/DC
The votes are for albums where there are no throw away songs. Highway to Hell, and really High Voltage are both in that category.
Highway to Hell is one of the best albums in the history, why is 40th?

52Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
It was really good how Jimmy Page and John Jones did all of their guitar stuff in the record; I really liked the one riff on black dog, where it goes up and then it goes down, like a spectrum (CIS scum), and then when the levee breaks was so cool how the drums fed off of the guitars and the screech from Robert was just so intense. Best guitar album of the year: all years

53Hosianna Mantra - Popol Vuh

54A Night At The Opera - Queen

55A Thousand Suns - Linkin Park
This album is truly a masterpiece... highly underrated... Linkin Park at its best... !

56Ain't Life Grand - Slash's Snakepit

57Live at the Filmore East - The Allman Brothers
Acknowledge by most fans and music writers alike as the best live recording ever produced (Tom Dowd - Producer) It not only captured the live music of one of the greatest live bands in history but it was recorded at the Church of Rock and Roll - The Fillmore East.

58Wasting Light - Foo Fighters

59Pump - Aerosmith

60Modern Dance - Pere Ubu

61All the Right Reasons - Nickelback

62The Poison - Bullet for My Valentine

63The Joshua Tree - U2

64Cowboys From Hell - Pantera

651984 - Van Halen

66Minutes to Midnight - Linkin Park

67Infest - Papa Roach

68For Those About to Rock We Salute You - AC/DC

69Rubber Soul - The Beatles
Guns n' Roses and Journey have beat out this and countless others on this list... Please!

70Keep the Faith - Bon Jovi
The only BJ album on the list, so I voted it, though the two best rock albums are American Idiot by Green Day and Have a Nice Day by BJ.

71Deep Purple In Rock - Deep Purple
I'm shocked that this album wasn't even on the list let alone not in the top 5. So many average albums listed here and yet this breakthrough masterpiece is totally ignored. Speed King and Child In Time would have been enough to make the album on their own, but the raw intensity of the music and vocals leave most other albums in the shade. No Machine Head on the list either. Another great album but In Rock started the ball rolling and was more in yer face.
The very first hard rock album (no blues, but not metal either) it's so dynamic and raw you put it on and you are practically in the room. Put down more or less live, limited overdubs and finished within weeks. That's how they did back then. Nearly 45 years old too, a genius band.
THIS is the BEST Hard Rock album of all time! (way ahead of Sabbath, Led Zeppelin & Co. ). Shamefully underrated!

72The Ultimate Sin - Ozzy Osbourne

73Twin Infinitives - Royal Trux

74War - U2

75Led Zeppelin ll - Led Zeppelin
Lz at their best

76Déjà Vu - Crosby Stills Nash & Young

77Powerslave - Iron Maiden

78Vulgar Display of Power - Pantera

79Hysteria - Def Leppard

80Slippery When Wet - Bon Jovi

81Come Clean - Puddle of Mudd

82Fare Forward Voyagers - John Fahey

83One More From the Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd

84One by One - Foo Fighters

85Peace Sells Who's Buying? - Megadeth

86Take the Crown - Robbie Williams

87Death Magnetic - Metallica

88A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay

89Boston - Boston

90Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols - The Sex Pistols
Never mind the Bollocks by the Sex Pistols and Nevermind by Nirvana are the 2 greatest albums ever. This album should be in the top ten or 5 but greatness always suffers to lower quality commercialism...

91Reign In Blood - Slayer

92Hemispheres - Rush

93Desert Shore - Nico

94Sticky Fingers - The Rolling Stones

95Deuce - Rory Gallagher

96Infestissumam - Ghost B.C.

97Ecliptica - Sonata Arctica

98Vs. - Pearl Jam

99Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
Are you kidding me!? If not for this album most all the others would not exist!

100Blood Sugar Sex Magic - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Chili peppers are still good today they will never die

Sabbath
