Dragon Ball Z
Dragon Ball Z is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation. It follows the adventures of Goku and the Z Warriors as they protect Earth from various villains. The series emphasizes themes of good versus evil and teaches values such as teamwork, loyalty, and perseverance.
First real breakout anime that, even after a long period of being over, came back again to give us a new storyboard. Love it.
The show that transcends anime and pop culture. With such a deep story and great action, it is simply the best.
Easily the most accurate thing I've seen! I love DBZ with all my heart. Even though I watch other shows (all by Funimation, of course), DBZ will always be my number one!

Fairy Tail
Fairy Tail is a manga franchise created by Hiro Mashima. It was adapted into an anime series produced by A-1 Pictures and Satelight, which first aired in Japan on October 12, 2009. BEST ANIME. So interesting, and with all the fights and action, they just keep the audience waiting for more! It's in its 7th season in dubs and subs, I believe, but I'm not sure.
Anyways, if you're into magic and comedy, totally check this anime out. Oh, and don't skip it just because everyone says it's cool or it looks dumb or whatever. I did that too for a long time until I started watching it on Netflix out of curiosity about why it's so good to most people.
Now I'm a HUGE fan. This is definitely one of my top tens.
My favorite anime. I will always love this anime. This anime is like my life. I never want it to end, not ever.
The characters are all awesome, and yes, I cannot help but like old enemies. Always making me smile and laugh no matter what mood I'm in. If anyone could make an anime like this one, then my anime world would be complete.

Fullmetal Alchemist
Fullmetal Alchemist is an anime series adapted from the manga of the same name by Hiromu Arakawa. It follows two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric, who use alchemy in a quest to restore their bodies after a failed attempt to resurrect their mother. The original series aired in 2003, and a more faithful... read more
Fullmetal Alchemist is downright amazing. No other show has ever managed to make me cry, but I found myself teary-eyed on many occasions and in tears during one particular unforgettable moment (You all know the one...).
No other show has had antagonists that I've found so fundamentally terrifying and pitied so much when they died. The whole series is extremely amazing, except for maybe the last season. But hey, Brotherhood has one of the best endings ever.
The emotional depth and plotline are far better than DBZ. This show also has action, and it's way more realistic than DBZ. It has way better animation too.
Fullmetal Alchemist is considered one of the best animes of all time by many anime watchers, and anyone who watched it would at least say it's a decent series. It has such a beautiful story, and the characters are so fun to watch grow.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

It closely follows the original manga storyline, in contrast to the earlier 2003 adaptation. The series is highly acclaimed for its animation, character development, and faithful adaptation... read more
Watching FMA03 is great, but Brotherhood is the better of the two series. My favorite anime of all time. My recommendation is to watch the 03 series to get some more background on the characters and then watch Brotherhood.
Yes, some backgrounds are slightly different, but you will appreciate Brotherhood so much more if you watch the first series.
This show has a longer journey for you, with more character growth and better animation. It is truly a heartwarming anime, one recommended for teenagers who love action. This is my number one best anime in the world. It truly has a touching meaning in it, love.

One Piece
One Piece is a manga franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. The manga was adapted into an original video animation (OVA) produced by Production I.G in 1998. The anime series produced by Toei Animation began broadcasting in Japan in 1999 and, as of now, has aired 851 episodes.
This anime has now surpassed DBZ after I finally caught up to the manga and anime. Naruto was my first anime, and I loved it till the very end of the manga. However, One Piece is the greatest of all time due to the character development and hilarious comedy.
This anime made me theorize about things that have not yet been told but show lots of foreshadowing. I love lots of anime, especially mainstream ones like One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, and Fairy Tail. I have not really fully watched DBZ, but its plot is not as good as One Piece, not gonna lie.
All these anime are amazing, but if I had to choose one, it would be One Piece.
Hold up, where are the sports anime? They should be in the top 20, e.g., Kuroko no Basket and Haikyuu.

Attack on Titan

It gives off an amazing teary beginning that always made me curse at the Titans. After watching the anime, you will definitely continue to the manga!
I love this show. It should be right under Fairy Tail. It's absolutely amazing, and the storyline is so intense. It's an amazing show with amazing characters. So much girl power in it too.
The best anime that I have ever seen. It has the best story, full of mystery, awesome main characters, soundtrack, and battle theme. It truly stands with honor to its name. Best anime.

If you want great storytelling, this is the pinnacle of anime. It combines the advantages of a limited series with beautiful animation, great performances in both Japanese and English, thrilling action, and four of the greatest characters in anime.
It's pretty much the best anime you can find. It should be fighting for the number one spot. The artwork is gorgeous even though it is 20 years old. The characters are deep, with deeper backstories. It's just masterfully done. This anime is the GOAT.
This is a classic anime that everyone should watch. The plot is excellent, the characters are intriguing, and the jazz-based soundtrack is to die for. If you haven't seen this, go watch it!
-
Soul Eater
Soul Eater is an anime series directed by Takuya Igarashi and produced by Bones, Aniplex, Dentsu, Media Factory, and TV Tokyo. It adapts the Soul Eater manga written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo. The anime aired in Japan from April 2008 to March 2009.
My first anime, and although I liked the manga ending better, this anime was action-packed, with deadly and suspenseful fight scenes, humor, romance, and a great storyline with different and unique characters (such as Kid's OCD).
Although they can seem a bit naive (ahem, Blackstar, Patty), they all seem to care for each other and get the job done. This anime must be watched in order, but it's one of my favorites.
Soul Eater is action-packed. However, it only appeals to the kind of people who love fighting and friends and whatnot (if you liked Attack on Titan, you MUST watch this).
The ending is definitely unexpected, and the series has unique characters that you're sure to love. Balanced with romance, humor, action, and adventure, Soul Eater is great!

Truly the best show you will ever see. It'll have you in tears by the end of the first episode. It also features some of the greatest characters of all time. A massive step above DBZ.
Honestly, this is my favorite anime of all time. It's funny watching the characters interact with one another, and the moves are badass. The Dark Tournament is the best story arc I've seen in an anime.
My all-time favorite show. Definitely better plot and character development than DBZ. It's up there with Inuyasha being my second favorite.

This is one of the best anime ever. It's cute and has a lot of friendship moments.

An amazing show. It really hits the feels. It's a great reverse-harem that I would 100% recommend to anyone into that genre.
I like the different characters in this anime. The boys in the host club are very naive when it comes to how Haruhi lives her life as a middle-class civilian, which just adds to the already funny plot.
Dubbed shows capture the emotions of each character so well. All in all, it's so funny. The twins are hilarious while in sync. Bravo to Funimation because that must have been really hard to do, considering when they talk separately, there is just a small variation in voices.
It works with the twins' whole concept.

I absolutely loved this anime! It is new but so well written. This anime deserves to be in at least the top ten. It is one of the only anime series that I have ever been so passionate about.
One of, if not the best, anime coming out. I can't wait to see where it goes. My dad doesn't like cartoons, but I was able to get him to watch and enjoy it.
An anime for those that love superhero origin stories. With an emphasis not only on the MC but on developing side characters, there are amazing characters to love.

Absolutely a must-see if you like mystery, somewhat horror (depends on the person), and an overall well-done storyline, in my opinion. Although it ended so sadly that every time I watched the whole thing over again, I always cry at the ending. Sad it didn't make the top 10.
It has a full story arc that actually closes, something that a lot of animes don't have these days. They made a few spin-off series that occur by pretending the last few episodes never happened, but the first season is a complete story in itself.
-
Rosario + Vampire
Premiering in 2008, this anime series is adapted from a manga by Akihisa Ikeda. It follows a human boy who accidentally enrolls in a school for monsters and becomes involved with a vampire girl. The series blends romantic comedy with supernatural and fantasy elements.
This show was awesome! It made me laugh every episode. I am now currently reading the manga because the anime just kind of ended so suddenly.
Rosario + Vampire is an awesome anime. It made me laugh non-stop, and I love it a lot. I hope more people watch this anime. Good luck laughing your ass off.
I love Rosario + Vampire. It makes me remember my high school days. The music soundtrack by Nana Mizuki is good music.

It is emotional and dark. The story is so good, and I cried a bit in some scenes. The gore is not heavily glorified. Mostly, it is necessary when it is necessary to have some. The comedy is really good in this. It also clears up a lot of questions you may have about the events of the story. Go watch it.
Loved this show. The only thing that would make it better is to have even more of it to watch.
Best show I have seen so far. I will never stop loving this show. Just wish there was more. It would be nice in real life too.

This show is awesome. It is one of the goriest animes I have seen. If you enjoy violent animes about vampires and Nazis, check out this one.

One of the best anime I have ever seen!

At times, especially right off the bat, you'll think this is super corny, but the character development is awesome. The storyline is super interesting. Can't wait for season 4!
Often funny, occasionally dark, and full of supernatural action and developments.
One of the best I've seen in a while.
The plot is good. I repeat, the plot is good. If you went for the fan service, you will keep watching because of the plot.

One of my absolute favorites! Although when it comes to "Funimation," they suck! It doesn't matter if a show is doing really well or not. They will and do cancel a show if five or more people ask about it.
It's the dumbest thing ever! How many excellent shows were canceled because of their ridiculous rules! How this company is even still around... well, I'll never understand!
One of my favorites. Action, monsters, swords, and a mysterious organization in charge of the warriors called Claymores. Too bad it stops after season one. I'll have to read the manga.

This is the best anime I have ever watched! I love how it has a horror feel, but it is also very heartwarming. Words cannot express how addicting this anime is. I stayed up until 4 in the morning watching this because I love it so much.
It has a little bit of every genre, so it will appeal to the majority of people. It is exciting, sad, heartwarming, creepy, dramatic, and loving. You will just want to keep on clicking the next episode. You will have a mix of emotions when it ends and will beg for the next season.
Plus, the characters are hot and crazy.
This is a horror anime about creatures called "Ghouls" who can only eat humans and are hunted by them. A boy gets turned into a ghoul unexpectedly in an accident at a hospital, and must fight between his hunger, humanity, his new ghoul friends, and his human friends. Very exciting, very sad, and has enough horror to keep you on the edge and always clicking the next episode.

Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple
Kenichi is a masterpiece. Having only 50 episodes makes it more desirable. Every OVA released adds to the anticipation of the next season. Very good mix of comedy, action, and character growth.

This show is amazing! My all-time favorite anime! It is hilarious and inspiring.

I loved the range in this anime, how it's dark and slightly disturbing at times but jumps right back to romance, comedy, and action. With a dark twist at the end, it was much worth watching. I would watch it again if I could.
I'd like to see a lot more shows like it that delve into dark topics that most will not even touch.
A perfect mix of action, romance, and dark psychological themes. This is the type of anime that will make you rethink your expectations of life itself. No other show will be able to perfectly fill the hole that finishing this anime will leave in your heart.
A true must-watch.

Baka & Test
Indeed, it's one of my favorite comedy series I have ever watched.
I loved this. It was by far one of my favorite animes!
No matter how many times I watch, I always enjoy a good laugh. The characters are great.
