Top 10 NBA Teams that Had the Best 2018 Draft

A lot of teams had amazing drafts. Some had good ones, some were okay, some were bad, and some were horrible.

We will be reviewing the amazing and good drafts.

The Top Ten
  1. Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are an American professional basketball team based in Phoenix, Arizona. They compete in the National Basketball Association as part of the Western Conference Pacific Division. Founded in 1968, the Suns have reached the NBA Finals three times but have not yet won a championship.

I love what the Suns did in this draft. They took Ayton to create a Kobe/Shaq-like combo. I also love the trade with the 76ers to get Mikal Bridges. I love Elie Okobo with the first pick in the second round to possibly end up backing up Elfrid Payton or maybe even starting.

And then they ended off the night with George King, who could end up being a role player for this team.

Kind of a given as they are the number one pick every year. But the Browns are the worst every year and they always make very bad picks. Suns picking Ayton was the obvious move and a good thing they did it because he's going to be great.

  2. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers, also known as the Cavs, are a professional basketball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. They compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Eastern Conference Central Division. The team won its first NBA Championship in 2016.

I absolutely love the pickup of Collin Sexton and he provides a solid leadership role with the new look Cavs after the King leaves. If he doesn't, the Cavs have a second ball handler with Sexton.

Yep, I really liked Collin Sexton. Maybe they'll finally be ready to win an NBA championship.

Their only major pick was Collin Sexton, but I like Sexton. That was a good pick.

  3. San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are a professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. They compete in the NBA as members of the Western Conference's Southwest Division. The Spurs were founded in 1967 as the Dallas Chaparrals before relocating and rebranding, and they have won five NBA championships.... read more

The Spurs had a really good draft. They got a steal with Lonnie Walker IV, who fell to 18. They also ended up getting a young, raw prospect to play the 4 in the second round.

  4. Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are a professional basketball team based in Sacramento, California. They compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Western Conference's Pacific Division. While the franchise has struggled to win championships, it maintains a passionate and loyal fan base.... read more

Love what the Kings did with the 2nd pick. They have a really bright future now with Bagley, Fox, Bogdanovic, Hield, and Justin Jackson.

  5. Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are an American professional basketball team based in Denver, Colorado. They compete in the NBA as part of the Western Conference's Northwest Division. Originally established as the Denver Larks in 1967, the team changed its name to the Nuggets before joining the American Basketball... read more

The Nuggets got an absolute steal with Porter and got a pretty good raw second rounder to back up Nikola Jokic. I disagree with the pick of Justin Jackson and Jared Vanderbilt, but the pickup of Porter just counteracts that and then some.

  6. Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are a professional basketball team based in Los Angeles, California. They are a member of the Western Conference Pacific Division of the National Basketball Association. As of the 2024-2025 season, the team plays its home games at the Crypto.com Arena.... read more

I love the pick of Moritz Wagner to play center and maybe even start. Isaac Bonga is also a really smart pick.

If you ask me, they should be number 1. The Suns are the worst NBA franchise.

  7. Orlando Magic

The Orlando Magic are an American professional basketball team based in Orlando, Florida. The Magic compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division. They were established in 1989 and have reached the NBA Finals twice, in 1995 and 2009.

Bamba's upside warranted picking the best player available, regardless of having Biyombo and Vucevic on contract for next season. Love the pick.

Love the pick of Bamba and it should end up being amazing. Also like Melvin Frazier's pick.

  8. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are an American professional basketball team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Bulls compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of the league's Eastern Conference Central Division. They play their home games at the United Center, a venue they share with the NHL's Chicago... read more

Love the pick of Carter, but I don't really like the pick of Chandler Hutchinson.

  9. Dallas Mavericks

Founded in 1980, the team won its first NBA Championship in 2011. The Mavericks have featured notable players such as Dirk Nowitzki,... read more

  10. Boston Celtics

Forgot the Boston Celtics had a great draft, picking a defensive talent in Robert Williams and not ruining everything they have going by trading for Mo Bamba.

Danny definitely made the right pick. Let's see how this plays out. Also, I think Doncic is going to be better than any of the other draftees.

They got a lottery talent at #27, and he fills a need.
