Top 10 Best Shooting Guards of All Time
-
Michael Jordan
Michael Jeffrey Jordan, also known by his initials MJ, is an American retired professional basketball player. Widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time, he made six NBA Finals appearances. Jordan won the NBA championship each time.
There is nothing to say. The only thing you can say is that he will ALWAYS be the best. Not only at the shooting guard position, but he is the best ever to walk on this planet.
Are we seriously debating this?
Simple really: he is the greatest basketball player of all time.

Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant (1978-2020) was an American professional basketball player who played his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. He won five NBA championships with the Lakers and retired in 2016 as the franchise's all-time leading scorer.... read more

Dwyane Wade
Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr. is an American retired professional basketball player. He played 16 seasons in the NBA, primarily with the Miami Heat. After retiring in 2019, Wade became involved in sports media and ownership, including part-ownership of the Utah Jazz and Chicago Sky, and was inducted into the... read more
Wade is not the number 3 shooting guard of all time. How do you go from MJ to Kobe to Wade? You don't. Wade is not over Allen Iverson, Joe Dumars, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, or Reggie Miller.
Allen Iverson is the reason people wear sleeves, get tattoos, cornrows, etc. If it wasn't for Allen Iverson, do you think Wade would even be wearing a sleeve? Also, Allen Iverson carried that 76ers team to an NBA Finals by himself. The only reason they lost the Finals was because they faced Kobe and Shaq. But as soon as LeBron left Miami, the Heat didn't even make the playoffs.
Don't say he's better than Iverson just because he has rings. Look at who was on his team when he got them. Shaq, LeBron, Chris Bosh. If Iverson had LeBron and Chris Bosh, he would've gotten a couple of rings too.
Jerry West is the damn logo, and you're telling me Wade, with his bad knees who can't even shoot, is above him? No. Wade is a great player, and he does deserve to be on this list, but not at number 3.

Top 3 no matter what: M.J. #1, Kobe #2 (longer career and same team entire career), Allen "THE ANSWER" Iverson #3. At 5'11" tall, A.I. was, and is, the toughest and most electrifying player to ever play the game. He changed the NBA forever!
A.I. is just ill. How is he not even in the top 5?! He crossed Jordan! He is by far the best shooting guard to never win a championship... Yet...
Iverson is better than Dwyane Wade.
-
Clyde Drexler
Clyde Austin "The Glide" Drexler is an American retired professional basketball player. During his career, he was a ten-time NBA All-Star and was named one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. Clyde Drexler was great on defense and offense. Jordan wouldn't have won any championships without Pippen and Rodman.
-
Jerry West
Jerry Alan West was an American basketball player known for his time with the Los Angeles Lakers. He spent his entire professional career playing for the Lakers in the National Basketball Association. West is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
How is Jerry West (aka THE LOGO) 6th on this list? That's just crazy. At worst, he should be top 3, if not top 2. I just wish the younger generations would look up old-school players.
-
Reggie Miller
Reginald Wayne Miller is an American retired professional basketball player. He played his entire 18-year National Basketball Association career with the Indiana Pacers. Way more than just a three-point shooter. All-around scorer, playmaker, and athlete. He led Milwaukee and Seattle teams to the playoffs before Boston. Many forget how great he really was.
The best pure shooter of all time. He surpassed the record of Reggie Miller. He is surely one of the greatest shooting guards of all time.
Ray Allen is just a knockdown shooter. No way is he better than Reggie "Knick Killer" Miller or T-Mac.
-
Tracy McGrady
Tracy Lamar McGrady Jr. is an American retired professional basketball player. He is best known for his career in the National Basketball Association, where he played as both a shooting guard and a small forward. McGrady was a seven-time NBA All-Star and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball... read more
Tracy McGrady should be number 2. All those injuries are what kept him from being the best player of all time. If he had stayed healthy, he would be the best player of all time. No one can touch T-Mac.
Have you ever seen 15 points in less than a minute against one of the best teams ever, the San Antonio Spurs? Insane. Long live T-Mac. Greatest NBA player of all time. Yeah, I said it.
Bruh, do they really have Ray Allen and Reggie Miller ranked higher? Neither of those was the player that Tracy was. Tracy was an unstoppable machine. In 2003, T-Mac was the best player in the NBA. Phil Jackson wanted to trade Kobe for him.

Harden is also recognized for leading the league in scoring for three consecutive seasons and for his exceptional... read more
There are only four shooting guards better than James Harden in NBA history: MJ, Kobe, DWade, and Drexler. James Harden is the most underrated and underappreciated player in NBA history. He can give you 30 points a game, 15 assists, or a triple-double here and there.
The only negative thing you can say about Harden is that he has had bad playoff moments, which were due in large part to being fatigued from carrying Houston every single year with no help. And a lot of you who still live in 2014 and say he plays no defense haven't watched Harden play on that end since then. It's disrespectful to keep him out of even the top 10.
Most underrated player in NBA history. Dude has never missed playoffs. Has had no star help since going to Houston and still making them relevant. Easy top 7 SG, if he wins just one ring I put him at #4
-
Vince Carter
Vincent Lamar Carter Jr. (born January 26, 1977) is a retired American professional basketball player who had a 22-season career in the NBA. He played for eight teams, including the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, and Sacramento Kings. In 2024, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball... read more
Statistically, at the end of his career, Vince Carter will most likely eclipse 25,000 points, 6,000 assists, 5,000 rebounds, and 2,000 three-pointers made. Along with eight All-Star appearances and being the face of two franchises (as well as being the second all-time scorer by total points with the Nets and Raptors, or first if you count by PPG or PER), he's clearly in the top 10 list.
Carter led NJ to the Finals. He led TOR with no help. He helped Howard get to his first Finals. He made the clutch shot against SA.
-
Oscar Robertson
Oscar Palmer Robertson, nicknamed "The Big O," is an American retired National Basketball Association player who played for the Cincinnati Royals and Milwaukee Bucks. He was the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double over an entire season, a feat he accomplished in the 1961-62 season... read more

During that time, he won four NBA championships, and in 2019, the Spurs retired his No. 20 jersey in honor of his contributions to... read more
Manu should be in the top 3! Reasons: 2004 Olympics (Manu vs. prime Iverson, prime Duncan, upcoming superstars like Wade, James, and Anthony, plus NBA All-Stars), and some NBA championships.
I think Ginobili is a top playmaker. He makes almost impossible paths to the basket.
Innovator, magician, winner, ultimate competitor. He belongs behind MJ with Kobe and Wade.
