The standard bearer. So cool and smoothe just powerful.

The scream/wail master

6 Steven Tyler - Aerosmith

Steven Tyler is number 1 in screaming. Nobody in this world can sing his high note songs except me.

None of the other candidates, excluding Axl Rose, have a scream even comparable to Steven Tyler. None of the other candidates are even capable of singing Dream On or any other Aerosmith song. His powerful vocals make him one of the best rock singers in the history of the genre, if not the greatest of all time.

Steven Tyler is the best, I love the way he works his way in dream on from a low calm voice to finish with which I honestly consider one of the best screams in Rock n' Roll. Aerosmith forever.

I've never heard any great screams other than Steven's brand of screaming. This man is really an epic vocalist. Hats off.

Listen to any of Sempiternal or earlier and there is no doubt he's is quite simply the best scream in rock right now, if not ever. Also, if That's the Spirit proved anything, it's that he also has one of the best singing voices

Oli has the voice (scream) of and angel, absolutely beautiful and amazing

Oli is hands down the best. His evolution as a singer and a screamer over the years demonstrates his amazing range, and he pulls off melodic screams that I have not heard from any other band. BMTH all the way!

The most brutal screams and growls ever. All other screamers, except for Ivan Moody, Jamey Jasta, Christian Machado and Waylon Reavis + Jmann, are cats, he is a lion.

Ivan moody is second only to Corey. No one can scream like that bastard haha. Chester and M. Shadows are great as well.

Slipknot Iowa albums has a lot of very deep brutal screams but there newest album.5 grey chapter sarcastrophe had a very brutal scream same with the negative one and a little bit of XIX towards the end

I hate slipknot with a passion but Taylors vocals from 1-3 albums are brutal

He was a talented yet troubled grunge performer. Kurt Cobain became a rock legend in the 1990s with his band. He committed suicide at his more.

On Tourette's he absolutely lets loose and it's the funniest thing ever. But really most of the songs on In Utero showcase his screaming. In All Apologies he is able to scream one syllable and continue the rest in a gentle voice. Scentless Apprentice is all screaming, and Milk It has some good screaming too. On Nevermind there's Lounge Act and Endless, Nameless. He only screams when he feels it's important, and he does provide emotion and lyrical power in his screams that other screamers can't match. Tourrette's sounds like mindless ranting but the lyrics are still pretty poetic. So he gets my vote.

He can scream alongside all the best of them. But he packs an emotiveness that VERY few can match.

Okay... you had to vote to say something, but HE DOESN'T EVEN SCREAM.

Listen to endless nameless and negative creep, he screams his head off on those songs

His screams have that feelings compared which other screams seem bland

15 Benjamin Burnley - Breaking Benjamin Benjamin Jackson Burnley IV is an American musician, composer, and producer, best known as the founder and frontman of the American rock band Breaking Benjamin.

He is the best. Simply put. This man is my idol and if he ever needed me to do anything for him I would. Breath is the only song that can almost put me to tears every time I hear it and his voice is the only one that can move me in the way it does. Nothing can compare to how I feel after I listen to any song. New or old. My only wish is to hear him live.

I like his voice, and he was born in the same month that I was enuff said

Burnely has an amzaing voice! It combains sounds of angel with devil's scream, like in Foever and Breakdown. All songs are different, but his voice it is everything for me, I've loved this band for recent 5 years with old guys and love them today with a new ones ( even more because of one guy from Red). Shortly say, Ben is one and only

One of the only metalcore singers that can do it live

He's not a typical screamer (not scream-style singer) but he screams pretty often and his screams are awesome - emotional, powerful, melodic and always spot on. The scream to 'Fiddler on the Green' is 10-11 sec long and is brilliantly crafted. He did some screams for other bands as a guest musician, which means he's really good.

32 Fred Durst - Limp Bizkit William Frederick "Fred" Durst is an American musician and film director. Durst is best known as the vocalist of the nu metal band Limp Bizkit, formed in 1994, with whom he has released six studio albums.

His screaming is brutal, mostly on 3 Dollar Bill Y'all$, and that pretty much makes up for everything else that he might lack. Definitely should be higher up in the ranks, especially seeing a couple that shouldn't be there

How is he not #1? Have you heard him on 3 Dollar Bill Yall$?

Needs to be higher, the end of “shadow on the sun” is just amazing

34 Pete Loeffler - Chevelle

Cleanest screams, and best well timed in my opinion... Should be ranked higher, maybe around 10th or so... Band itself, unfortunately! Only downfall, and maybe the ranking, from live shows I have seen, seems to back off on intensity of screams heard on recordings...

Amazing vocals, great range, the ability to sing and scream at the same time makes him sound better than most singers.

Just listen--please just listen--to his scream near the end of Comfortable Liar

Pete is the best simply put

Zack doesn't mess around, man. Just loom at his live performances. - phillysports

He has pure anger in his voice.

37 Bert McCracken - The Used

He should definitely be higher up. He should be in the top 3, he's better than most of the people on this list, and if you don't agree listen to choke me, sound effects and overdramatics, box full of sharp objects and listening. He is even better live when he adds in extra, more intense screams.

David Lee Roth and Sebastian Bach," Slave to the Grind"... Mudkicker! That's how you scream.

46 Andy Beirsack - Black Veil Brides

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! WHEN I VOTED, HE WAS 50 SOMETHING. MY VOTE PUT HIM UP TO 30, BUT IT'S STILL WAY TOO LOW! In all seriousness, I'm not some crazy fan-girl (or guy, in my case) that only likes Andy for for his looks. He deserves to at least be in the top ten. The only reason I might put my vote towards anyone else is because Andy said in his documentary The Making of Andy Biersack, that he only screamed in his first album because he didn't know how to write bridges. I might be taking that the wrong way, but I think he doesn't appreciate screaming that much. That's sad because he has (in my opinion) the best scream ever.

His scream is so powerful and can reach high vocal points that are just astounding I mean this guy has true vocal talent.

47 Dave Grohl - Foo Fighters David Eric "Dave" Grohl is an American rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer and film director. He is best known as the former drummer of the hugely popular 90s grunge band Nirvana and the vocalist/guitarist for the alternative rock band Foo Fighters. He has sat behind the more.
48 Michael Barnes - Red

Such a hard choice between Chester Bennington, Benjamin Burnley, and Michael Barnes. But in my opinion Michael gets it.

This is a truly unfair list. Listen to Release The Panc, Let Go and Feed The Machine. He should be at least top 5.

Why is he not #1

49 Donnie Iris

Puts everyone on this list to shame

Totally agree. Aaaah Leah! Should be top of the list. !

Seen lots of these live - however this guy can reproduce every time. Doesn't loose voice doing it either. He's like 70+ and STILL outdoes most on this list - that's sort of amazing in and of itself. Check YouTube of this guy, you won't believe he's still rock'in like he does.

50 Sean Smith - The Blackout
