Probably the best song of 1982 - Ajkloth
Been a long time since I...
2 Guitars and a screamin' lead singer. What else could you want. Direct and rockin' -
Plain out rock and roll at the core

The best “Rock & Roll” song ever!V 1 Comment
Classic rocker from one of the best-selling groups of all time.
I'm too sexy for my shirt
It's amazing. Queen is the best group of all time!
He says: we will rock you. Does exactly that.
Chuck started it all and the Beatles covered it nicely. -
One of the only bands on this list that is still rocking out in arenas today. Rock and Roll all Night is the anthem to all partys anywhere
And party everyday
Anthemic from start to finish and pure rock brilliance to put bagpipes right along side the instrument of rock 'n roll. It crunches and it soars while still remaining true to rock n roll roots. -
GREAT! I love AC/DC. I love the bagpipes in this song also. Awesome!
Any rock song that has a bagpipe solo is awesome.
This is the first good rock song with bagpipes, and its one of my favorites now
It's just a great happy rock n roll song that makes everyone want to clap, dance, and sing along with it. It's got a wonderful beat and tune.
Love this song. Its my favorite of all AC/DC songs - Danielsun182
This is a great song... And ac/dc are the gods of rock n roll.. !

This needs to be higher - Seventies-Music-Fan
Talks about the sacrifices one must make to become a rock star. One of the first songs to do so. - Gg2000
Petty does a nice live cover of this classic song. -
Though "coded" in most cases, this song mentions The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Dylan, The Stones, Chuck Berry, Janis Joplin, The Byrds, Alan Freed, Phil Spector, of course Buddy Holly, and several more.
But I like ithah...
The playfulness that Jagger puts into the vocals is almost contradictory to Rock yet along side the 2 guitar attack and rhythm section of Watts and Wyman this song say loud and clear... I like it tah... -
Wicked vocals, fun song
Talkin' 'bout perceptions. So easy to be a musician. Ask anyone...
Why is it that whenever a song is sung in First Person, and it APPEARS it is the opinion of the singer or writer, there is a lot of controversy? This one and 'Short People' by Randy Newman got a lot of flack for its content. Both are about prejudice as seen from the bigot's view. -
This is one of the greatest songs ever...
"We got to install microwave ovens.
Custom kitchen deliveries,
We've got to move these Refrigerators.
We've gotta move these color T.V. 's! "
Gotta love it.
Absolute hammer of a song!
He says it direct, "Forgit all that macho s*** and learn how to play guitar". He could not have written a more basic rock 'n' roll song than this one. Mellencamp even injects a bit of the 'ole garage band into the piece. I never git tired of listening to this one. Lotsa fun. -
Probably the reason the Dead let their fans video tape and tape record their music/shows is that no one would have remembered them unless they were archived somehow. Ah, to have been there...or was I? -
Great song about the troubles of making a record... Great song, Anyone who says otherwise is crazy.
First record I had & still the best.
Lotsa of fun (like rock and roll), sounds dirty (like rock 'n' roll), makes fun of and is rock 'n' roll. -
Always expect Ray Davies to serve up something different when commenting on any subject. Not back beat here, just a good solid song. -
A funny song from THE Rock Satirists whose stage show was intense, sexy, sensual (especially with Re Styles) and with an acrid taste to it. This song from their live album, "What Do You Want From Live" gores all the punks who were basically low-lifes that burned out quickly (i.e., no talent and lots of personal problems). Skewered and served up with relish. -
Rock music doesn't deserve to be generic, don't you agree?
A power ballad from AC/DC. but it's a tribute to rock and roll
Heavy decibels are playing on my guitar
We got vibrations comin' up from the floor
We're just listening' to the rock
That's givin' too much noise
Are you deaf you wanna hear some more
