Top 10 Best Cities in Malaysia
In your opinion and based on your knowledge, what is the best city in Malaysia?Big buildings, nice food, amazing malls, really cool houses and flats - you should visit this place sometime!
Yes, Kuala Lumpur has a lot of big buildings and shopping malls. Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia (if I'm not wrong). If I were Malaysian, I would choose this place as my favorite in the world, but since I'm Italian, my favorite is Rome. (Don't be mad.)
KL is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The city that never sleeps.
I think Kota Bharu has one of the lowest crime rates in Malaysia. Additionally, the city has a high level of education. You can find many students from Kelantan in local or overseas universities.
Even though Kota Bharu is not the biggest city, its low profile makes it feel so natural.
You can find a lot of delicious food in Kota Bharu, such as nasi kerabu, akok kedut, ayam percik, nasi dagang, and much more! Kelantanese cuisine is definitely a highlight of this amazing city.
Kota Kinabalu is the metropolis of Borneo. Day and night, you can find everything from super cheap to super expensive. The nightlife is amazing - whether it's Choc Factory Club, The Bed, White Room, Q Bar, and more.
The city boasts incredible supermalls like One Borneo Hypermall, Oceanus Mall, Megalong, Warisan, CP Mall, Asia City, Pacific City, City Mall, and Suria Sabah. The food is also amazing, a heaven for seafood lovers! The people are gorgeous and friendly. Despite all the upcoming development, people can still enjoy nature at its best. Love KK!
Georgetown offers a great mix of big-city life and tropical island vibes with its awesome beaches and seven-floor shopping malls. I love this place, especially the markets that sell nearly everything. I'm from the UK and never have problems with language here.
There's a lot to do in terms of attractions and activities as well!
For me, Georgetown is the best city in Malaysia, mainly because of its delicious food, culture, and so much more.
Beautiful colonial buildings, nice food, good demographics. Similar to Singapore.
Gateway to Singapore. Not as busy as KL. Overall, a nice place. Slightly expensive, as most people here live in condos or gated communities, but it's much more chill and relaxed than KL.
Best city... Everything is here... Huge space for future development.
Future best city in Malaysia... It's got more space than KL and Penang. Everything will be there in the future.
Ipoh offers delicious food like Ipoh Shredded Chicken Noodles (Kai Si Hor Fun) and the legendary Ipoh White Coffee. And let's not forget the pomelos!
Ipoh is a beautiful city surrounded by limestone mountains. Absolutely the best city in Malaysia!
I think Ipoh has more tasty food than Penang. Ipoh feels like the Hong Kong of Malaysia, with its British colonial-era buildings and the culture of eating dim sum, which is quite similar to Hong Kong.
Not to mention, the Chinese Malaysians in Ipoh mainly speak Cantonese.
This is the town where my school is located. I love it during marathon days. You get to see the beautiful surroundings and experience the cleanliness. It's confirmed that Ipoh is the cleanest city in Malaysia.
Seremban has some of the most affordable housing and better infrastructure over the past five years. The local council performs well.
There is also an important and good variety of excellent Chinese, Malay, and Indian food that is inexpensive. Keep it up!
With fewer foreign workers compared to Selangor's industries and Johor's plantations, Seremban seems more peaceful. Moreover, the presence of many small traders allows people to earn a living here.
Best city ever. How is it only ranked number 10?
Has a lot of nature and some buildings there.
The most beautiful city in Malaysia.
Here we have a little bit of everything: beaches, rivers, shopping, nature, and leisure. There's good connectivity with highways to the west and north. I live here, man.
It's good here.
Fabulous city.
The Newcomers
This is the heaven between Malaysia and Thailand, where you can find a lot of goods originating from both countries, from clothes to accessories and food!
It is rare to find a city in Malaysia that exists with such easy grace as Kuching. Modern buildings overlook the clean and beautiful Sarawak River, with the legendary Mount Santubong as a backdrop. The people are laid-back and friendly, both to each other and outsiders. Racism is NOT tolerated here.
You can experience culture and ethnic diversity at the Sarawak Cultural Village and explore wildlife at Bako National Park, which is not far from the city center. Kuching is also like a garden city, with beautiful trees planted everywhere. And the food! Kolo mee and Sarawak Laksa are must-haves. What's not to love about Kuching?
Excellent shops, excellent food! The best gourmet food in the world!
The most beautiful city in Malaysia. I love this city very much!
Best city I've ever visited. Top-class facilities.
Miri is a small city with minimal traffic jams. It has many shopping centers and beautiful beaches. Niah Cave, a historical site, is located in Miri.
Miri is very near to Brunei, so many Miri residents like to visit Brunei, and likewise, people from Brunei often visit Miri on Fridays.
Miri is a nice, clean, and well-organized seaside city. The residents are friendly and helpful too. If you haven't been there, some places you should visit include Mulu, Niah, and Miri Coral Reef National Parks. If you have extra time, arrange a one-day trip to Brunei.
An unforgettable experience in Miri - I'll definitely visit again.
Petaling Jaya is the best city in Malaysia. Kuala Lumpur is close by, and the city is well-planned. A retail area is just 5 minutes away from any residential setting.
Sungai Petani is the most successful city in Kedah, and arguably in Malaysia. It is growing with successful projects such as malls, housing developments, and educational institutions. The prices of food and drinks are still affordable compared to other cities in Malaysia.
Sungai Petani is the best place to build a family. With its thriving new settlements, everyone seeks a balanced economic lifestyle here.
Putrajaya is one of my favorite cities in Malaysia. If I had to choose between Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, I would choose Putrajaya. The city is clean, there are no traffic jams, the buildings are futuristic, the people are nice, and the sunsets are beautiful.
The bridge designs are mind-blowing, and the high-class cruises are available at cheap prices. The only word I can use to describe this city is incredible!
The seat of government since 1999. Beautiful buildings, islands, rivers, parks.
Sandakan has a lot of nature parks.
Peaceful and no traffic jams.
A peaceful place to live.
Taiping is a town rich in history, with many first achievements like the first railway line between Taiping and Port Weld. The Lake Garden is the best in Malaysia, and Maxwell Hill is one of the oldest hill resorts, unspoiled by too much commercialization.
Food is cheap, and the cost of living is low.
Food heaven with a blend of Indonesian, Malaysian, and Filipino cuisine.
Tawau is rich in local, multicultural heritage and is home to one of the oldest rainforests. This harbor town also serves as a transit city to the Semporna Islands, the Lost World of Danum Valley in Lahad Datu, and the Maliau Basin near Kalabakan. It also borders other Indonesian cities.
Although small in size, Tawau is packed with things to do. It's a seafood paradise and has peaceful spots, making it suitable for retirees.
A very peaceful town in Sarawak. I love Sarawak.
