Top 10 Potential Landing Spots For Deshaun Watson

Deshaun Watson officially requested a trade from the Houston Texans today (January 28) after the hiring of David Culley as their next head coach. Several NFL teams are in need of a quarterback, so someone will undoubtedly be willing to pay the price for a player of his caliber.

The Top Ten
Miami Dolphins

He has expressed interest in playing here, and for good reason. They were on the verge of the playoffs. Landing a player like Watson would make them much better and could pose a threat to Buffalo and the AFC as a whole.

San Francisco 49ers

I think San Francisco would be a good fit. They have weapons, and they're just as dangerous as anyone when healthy. They made the Super Bowl with Jimmy Garoppolo.

They can definitely make it with Watson and win a ring. They are still in win-now mode. If he doesn't go to Chicago, I'd like to see him go here.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts lost Phillip Rivers to retirement. Jacoby Brissett isn't the answer, and Andrew Luck isn't walking back in that door. They need someone like Watson to push them over the edge.

The problem is, do you really think Houston would let him walk to a division rival?

Washington Football Team

Washington has a nice young defense forming. They have pieces on offense but no long-term quarterback solution. Watson could make Washington a really scary team.

Detroit Lions

The Lions are going to get a new quarterback and are finally getting rid of Stafford after he's been in Detroit for over a decade. Who knows, they might deal him to Houston for Watson. This could potentially boost the Lions' offense significantly.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas is still in negotiations with Dak Prescott. I don't know if he will stay or not, but if they can't get a deal done this time, Jerry Jones would be the one to propose a deal to bring in the quarterback from the other Texas team in the NFL, Deshaun Watson. That would get them their quarterback and give them a leg up on the other teams in their division.

This is somewhat likely if they can't get a deal with Dak, which may or may not happen. I think this injury showed them how important he truly is to the team.

Chicago Bears

I really hope that he comes here. I know we missed him in 2017, but we really regret that decision. Besides, we have a good defense, and the offense desperately needs a good quarterback under center.

Then we could go from mediocrity to decency and respectability.

New York Jets

He has expressed interest in going here, which is weird, but maybe he sees something we don't. Robert Saleh could be a good coach, but they ruined Sam Darnold, so I don't know. Maybe they get him and take care of their quarterback, then use the number 2 overall pick for the offensive line or DeVante Smith.

Basically, they wouldn't have to use it on a quarterback.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh may want to move on from Big Ben. He's not getting any younger, and their offense was very inconsistent. Deshaun Watson has the ability to change that.

There's no DeAndre Hopkins, but Pittsburgh could provide him with better weapons than he had in Houston.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Contenders
New England Patriots

The Patriots are expected to part ways with Cam Newton. He didn't exactly live up to what Brady did. He had flashes where he was okay, but that's all.

This is pretty unlikely, but who knows? Bill Belichick, if he wanted to, could make a move for Watson. But I wouldn't hold my breath if I'm the Patriots. The odds are low.

Carolina Panthers
Las Vegas Raiders
Denver Broncos
Kansas City Chiefs
