Top 10 Best Things Related to or that Happened in 2018

The Top Ten
  1. 90,000 valentines sent to the Cincinnati Children's Hospital

This year, people worldwide sent Valentine's Day cards to children at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

How is this under the Royal Wedding? This is heartfelt. The Royal Wedding is just a wedding.

That's so nice of them. These children must be really happy.

  2. Net neutrality repeal is overruled

The good news is that it passed the Senate (though barely). The bad news is that it still has to pass the House for the overrule to be fully agreed upon. Even worse, it must also be signed by the President (which we all know might not happen).

I've heard that any presidential veto can be overridden, though that is even harder to achieve than getting both parties to agree on a bill. We aren't out of the woods yet.

This deserves to be in the top 3. The Senate are the true heroes for denying the FCC's dark plans to tamper with internet speeds as they pleased.

Now that the repeal has been overruled, the possibility of a sickeningly slow internet is no longer a threat. With just the House vote left, we should be okay.

  3. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married

This was an amazing moment for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. It was both historic for the world and meaningful to them personally, so it deserves to be mentioned here.

Upon her marriage, Meghan is expected to have children who will become part of the world and take on the roles of prince and princess. This shows that new lives can come into the world and make a difference, and that's the case with them.

  4. SpaceX launched and landed the Falcon Heavy

It was such a historic mission when SpaceX launched the Falcon Heavy for the first time and landed multiple boosters almost at once.

Although one of them crashed and a trajectory issue caused the Tesla to go the wrong way, making it a partial failure, the mission proved that we can launch something powerful, reuse it, and land more than one rocket at the same time.

Someday, they'll plan on launching and landing the same rocket twice within 24 hours.

  5. Logan Paul quit daily vlogs

Listen, Logan is a human - a flawed human, but still a human. He deserves to be treated like one. He can change. All people can change. If quitting vlogs is helping with that change, then good for him.

On another note, if he weren't a famous YouTuber, people would be seeing how immature and reckless he really is. Let's be honest: if you knew nothing about Logan's fame or money, just his personality and the way he acts, would you want to be friends with him? No. He's a jerk. He does stupid things on the internet because he wants attention. He knew he was posting an extremely graphic video for his young viewers to see and did it anyway.

If he were treated like any other human, he could be fined and probably get into some legal trouble. But because he's famous, nobody bats an eye. And yes, he took the video down and made an apology, so apparently, that fixes everything.

  6. Eagles win their first Super Bowl in franchise history

I'm a Packer fan, and I'm proud of Doug Pederson for leading his team to a Super Bowl win. After all, Pederson was Brett Favre's backup quarterback in Super Bowl XXXI, which he also won with Green Bay.

I'm from near Philly. When the Eagles won, it was crazy! There were hoards of screaming fans, and just such overhype.

I'm a Patriots fan, but good for the Eagles. They deserved a Super Bowl.

  7. Los Angeles parking meters helped homeless people

Many people were homeless until Los Angeles installed parking meters, which helped them.

This is much better than sports.

  8. ISIS is contained

  9. Childhood Cancer STAR Act passed

STAR is an acronym for Survivorship, Treatment, Access, and Research.

This looks to be a significant step forward for a disease variant that receives only a small 3.8% of overall cancer funding. I sincerely hope this marks a significant milestone in the history of pediatric cancer.

  10. Bill Cosby found guilty on all counts of indecent sexual assault in retrial

It is very sad and tragic that he committed all of these crimes, but I am glad he got the punishment he deserved.

He was funny, but he deserved what he got.

Bill Cosby was an iconic legend in TV comedy. He inspired Little Bill, The Cosby Show, and Fat Albert.

However, it was revealed that he raped 50 women, leading to his trial. This year, he was found guilty on all counts. Thank goodness, but what a scandal nonetheless.

  16. Avengers: Infinity War

This movie has it all! Super awesome, extremely action-packed, and very funny. One of Marvel's best movies. More of this please!

One of the best experiences I had at the movies. It had everyone from Brolin to Johansson in it.

I liked Deadpool 2 better, but it's still brilliant.

  17. March for Our Lives rally

Ever since the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, the world has been in fear, and people have been scared to go to schools.

With the March For Our Lives rally, awareness has spread about mental health issues and how we should deal with challenges in these situations.

Although gun violence continues to persist throughout our country, the rally marked a step toward addressing it.

Trenton Lewis's coworkers found out that he walks 11 miles to work every day for his daughter, which is quite the feat.

  19. My Hero Academia Season 3

  20. RiceGum quit daily YouTube

He hasn't uploaded a video in a month. I think this is a gift from YouTube. I just hope he doesn't come back at all.

  21. Winter Olympics

  22. Brexit

  23. Blue Moon lunar eclipse of January 31

This was the first time in 152 years that a blue moon coincided with both a supermoon and a lunar eclipse. It won't happen again until 2037.

I thought it would be a purple moon. I took the blue moon too literally. At least I saw something rare.

  24. Deji lost against Jake Paul

  25. Attack on Titan Season 3

  26. Justin Timberlake's halftime performance at the 2018 Super Bowl

Justin Timberlake is a good singer, and his performance at the 2018 Super Bowl Halftime was flawless. He nailed it.
