Top 10 Reasons to Not Commit Suicide

There have been a rising number of suicides in recent years, so I've decided to share my thoughts on why you shouldn't take your own life. Please, don't attempt suicide. It truly isn't worth it. Trust me.

Anyone considering suicide, remember, you're not alone. Confidential help is available.

In the U.S., you can contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline for free by phone at 988. Or by online chat at 988lifeline.org/chat/. A counselor will listen to you, understand how your problems are affecting you, provide support, and share resources that may be helpful.

The Top Ten
  1. Suicide does not take away the pain. It gives it to someone else

I know emotional pain, tenacity, dehumanization, genocide, death, and isolation. Far more than most could imagine. My soul cannot bear to harm another human, let alone the ones I love, just in case they ever wonder or blame themselves. So, I am cursed to live longer and endure this pain, and hope for the end. I can hope the quiet end is near, but it cannot be from suicide.

Your friends and family will end up grieving for you, and the memory will stick with them for their whole life.

    Don't cause them that pain.

  2. You only have one life

Unless you believe in rebirth, you can be reborn after you die. If you get lucky, you'll get the opportunity to start your own life all over again.

But yes, suicide is quite risky.

Precisely. There's always a vast selection of opportunities, and always something to live for.

Even if you go to heaven, you will still see what's in store on earth.

  3. People will think you deserved to die because you killed yourself

I've seen a lot of this on YouTube.

  4. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem

It may not be temporary, but even if you do die, no one can reverse that, which is a scary and sad thought.

  5. Somebody might need you

Even if you don't know it, you could be making someone's life a whole lot better, brightening their day just by being there. And even if it's not happening now, it may happen later in life. But only if you stick around to see it happen.

  6. You'll miss out on all the great, positive things about life

You can smile and laugh. Maybe not right now, but eventually. And when you do, you will be thankful you made it through this. Thank you for being here.

Yes, it's true. I have so much to live for. I want to become a YouTuber, travel around the world, adopt a puppy, and do so many things that other people do. I will never commit suicide, EVER!

Most people commit suicide because they get bullied in school. Getting bullied in school won't affect you that much in the future.

  7. You won't go to heaven

Hell is a real place. Do not commit suicide. Instead, give your life to Jesus Christ. Serve Him. Repent of sins. Read a KJV Bible.

The biggest reason there isn't 55 grains of lead and copper lodged in my head.

Yes, in religions, this can be very true.

  8. Somebody will always love you

If you don't know who loves you, then you haven't met them yet.

  9. You'll never get to do what you've always wanted to do

Yeah, one time at school, I said I was going to kill myself by climbing the roof and jumping off. But a lot of friends and colleagues came to save me from my actions. If it weren't for them, I could've been dead by now because I nearly jumped.

I have so many things I want to do in life. If I ended my life, I wouldn't get to do them.

  10. It will affect the lives of others

If you kill yourself, everyone else will have to go through the pain. What do you think will happen after you die? No matter what happens in your life, don't kill yourself. Please, just think before you act.

As a Christian, I believe there is a hell. If you do not give your life to Jesus and believe that he died on the cross for your sins, you will go to hell. Please think about this.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    There are better solutions

Such as talking to someone you trust, going to therapy, journaling your thoughts, and taking medications (not like that).

  13. ?

You can live to spite them

I live to spite all that wishes for my death, even a part of me.

  14. The Contenders
  15. You will break your parents' hearts

I don't want to commit suicide because people will be sad, and I won't be able to do anything about it. People do care about you, and I know that positive remarks don't fix depression, but I just want to say that people do love you no matter who you are.

  16. Your life is valuable

You were born for a reason. People say, "I was born to die," but that's not true. We all have the potential to make a difference and leave our mark on the world. There is real, true value in simply living. Passing the burden of pain onto others because you want life to end is selfish. Get up, get a life. People need you, whether you realize it or not.

You should exercise caution when making decisions regarding your life because it is very valuable.

  17. People will miss you

True. If you kill yourself, you're only hurting yourself and the ones that love you and care for you. So very true.

It may not always feel like it, but there is someone who cares about you. Trust me.

The only reason I don't do it is because I don't want people to be sad.

  18. The bad people will win

If you hate me, listen to me:

I am not a bad guy! You turned me into this. I am a nice person! I've chilled out man, I'm cool now, I've evolved. But you, you're still the same! Still full of audacity, and that's why you don't deserve to have the joy of me dying!

It's the only thing that keeps me hanging on. I don't want the bad people say: good riddance. Everybody hold on, we can make it.

Now, why would you want to give them that kind of satisfaction?

  19. No one deserves to die

  20. Everybody matters

  21. Suicide is not always effective

Sometimes, you don't succeed in killing yourself. Rather, you end up seriously injuring yourself instead.

If you fail to commit suicide, you might end up with disabilities or brain damage.

That's pretty much why I haven't done it yet, but I really want to.

  22. You're not the only one who has a difficult or depressing life

Many people feel suicidal and they could feel worse than you, like you aren't the only one feeling like that. People don't have to feel offended by this.

  23. You will burden others with funeral costs

  24. The good in the world will always outweigh the bad, even if it seems like the opposite

  25. You were born for a reason

God did not just randomly create you.

  26. It's not worth it

For a while, I was suicidal. But then I thought to myself, "It's not worth it." No matter what, there is one person who loves you in the world. I can assure you of it. Even if you feel alone.

  27. You have too much to live for

  28. Even if you're scarred, you're still beautiful

  29. Everyone is special in their own way, and so are you
