Most Underrated Mortal Kombat Characters

The Top Ten
  1. Stryker

I've heard so many horrible things about him. Well, I still love Kurtis Stryker. I love his outfit, fighting style, weapons, and fatalities.

Stryker is very underrated and deserves a chance. But people toss him aside as garbage because he's a cop.they say he has no powers in a world that has flame fists eye lasers and shadow powers just to name a few. But people like batman right. Think about that for a moment.

I agree. But it's a shame that he did not make it to MKX despite how badass he is. So, yeah.

Back in the days of MK3, he used to be a stupid looking cop, but now in MKA and MK9, he looks so badass that people kept forgetting.

  2. Tanya

Tanya is MK4 magic woman, his have many spell a super body. She is doing to way trap Liu Kang. In trap is be terror Shinnok and Quan Chi. Tanya is his werry smile and Quan Chi and Shinnok is killing to Liu Kang, best of round fighter. Tanya is yellow beautiful suit, she is good female fighter.

She's hated by many people, but I disagree with it. Tanya is a great and mysterious fighter. Yes, she is evil and a traitor, but this is Mortal Kombat. The franchise is nothing without evil characters. I hope to see Tanya in future MK games.

  3. Sheeva

Sheeva is a fictional character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise. She was created by Midway Games and continues to appear in titles developed by NetherRealm Studios. Sheeva is a Shokan, a four-armed, half-human and half-dragon species, and made her debut in Mortal Kombat 3.

Sheeva is 4 hand princess and fighter master woman, he is good kick classic warrior style.

Could've been a warlord instead of having jobber role

    Another overlooked character in MK.

  4. Kabal

Kabal is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series, who made his debut in Mortal Kombat 3. He's a former member of the Black Dragon crime syndicate who frequently wields a pair of hook swords. He's easily recognized by his facial respirator and his ability to move at superhuman speeds.

You should feel sorry for him, spoilers: he got burnt by that idiot Kitaro, and he looks like a freak now, but he still fights for the special forces; what a good person. In game he might be hard for some people but he is easy once you get used to it.

I don't know why people don't like him they say he is so bad because he has asthma I say he can kill you un 1 second even though you are more healthier than him

One of the most mysterious fighters in Mortal Kombat, but that only makes him more special. Kabal's story is very interesting.

  5. Mavado

Back in the Deadly Alliance days this was the guy I played as

He's not as bad as MK fans say.

  6. Nitara

Based on how much the team seems to love providing us with setbacks instead of developing promising characters, she's not the only one. But I think she's a serious contender for the most underrated since she's not a cyborg, nor a ninja but a vampire. Wish she remains the only one for the franchise. Also wish she ends up granted the little she deserves at least. I hate looking at 2 similar characters with only colors to see the difference. She's a really well designed and cool character. Possibly one of the best of the franchise, all biased opinions aside.

Can't believe that particular character was forgotten for years after MKDA! She's the only one who happened to do something in this one. If they really knew how to write/build a story, they would have started from MKDA and made chars like Nitara allies to the earthrealm warriors, or threats. They fail almost at everything stoywise though.

  7. Nightwolf

Nightwolf is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. He first appeared in Mortal Kombat 3, which was released in 1995. The character is a Native American warrior known for his spiritual powers, which play a key role in his fighting style.

Deserves to be in more mk games than just 5 games (including mk11 dlc)

  8. Darius

  9. Taven

I love his design and moves. Probably one of my favorite character in Mortal Kombat along with Kitana, Sub-Zero, and Jade.

Sadly he never got his chance to shine as the new main hero representing the Forces of Light He deserves better same as Daegon

He was introduced in MK Armageddon (2006), and he was such a great fighter. Taven's Konquest Mode in Armageddon is one of the greatest gaming experiences I've ever had.

  10. Bo Rai Cho

Bo' Rai Cho is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series who debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance in 2002. He gets way too much hate from ninja lovers and protagonist worshippers.

His character is developing under NRS Studios, and it's developing one step at a time. He'll have his own chapter in MK11, and by MK12, he'll have a major role in the story and probably his own chapter again.

  16. Kai

Constantly taking a backseat because of the Liu Kang & Lao

Can't never get his chance to shine because they're constantly pushing Liu K & Kung L

Kai was very cool in MK 4 and Armageddon, but unfortunately, MK fans ignored him.

  17. Ermac

Ermac is a fictional character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise developed by Midway Games. He originated from rumors about a diagnostics menu in the original game that displayed the term ERMACS, which some players believed indicated a secret character. Takahashi Kenshi is a fictional character from the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise, originally developed by Midway Games. He debuted in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, released in 2002. Kenshi is a blind swordsman who possesses telekinetic abilities, making him a unique fighter in the series.

Yay! Kenshi returns in the new Mortal Kombat!

Kenshi is one of my favorite characters in MK. His Hara-Kiri was the best in Deception.

Kenshi is so underrated. He's a boss

  19. Sektor

Sektor is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. He made his debut in Mortal Kombat 3. Sektor was a member of the Lin Kuei, along with Cyrax. If cyrax is scorpion than sektor is sub zero, I really like him because his compacter fatality

Sektor is red robot of game: Mortal Kombat ultimate and many games. He is me weapon raket and he is great fighter.

I don't adore him or anything, but I think he's underrated

  20. Fujin

Fujin is mystic old god. Great art Fujin to game MK 4, he is god of fuji, his costeem to green trousers and magic black waistcoat, grey long hair. He is magy to fuji, werry speed fighter. He is of advice to biggist god.

Idiot Raiden has been constantly taking his spotlight over the years

  21. Li Mei

Li Mei is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. She made her debut in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, released in 2002. Li Mei hails from Outworld and is known for her acrobatic fighting style and storylines involving rebellion against oppression.

She has a huge potential and she does deserve more attention from the creators, I hope she'll be included in the next sequel to the MK series

Why did they even bother giving her a new makeover in mkx when they didn't include her in playable roster doesn't make any sense

She's an interesting character with an harsh story, she deserves more attention

  22. Reiko

Reiko is doing many years general deadly Shao Kahn army. Reiko, red costum and strip eyes. Reiko in MK4 game and serial MK Conquest.

Reiko's style is a bit similar to Shao Kahn's, but he's great too.

I like Rekio, he just docent get enough attention. He is Shinnok's general and wears Shao Khan's helmet. Cool!

  23. Hsu Hao

I must've listened to hundreds of people rant against Hsu Hao over the years, and I have yet to hear a single convincing argument as to why he was so bad. Hsu Hao hate is little more than a dumb and forced internet fad that got by 2008. It's gotten downright retarded now. I've actually heard a few people say that they'd except a new character with Hsu Hao's powers, moves, and back story. Essentially saying Hsu Hao with a different name would be better than Hsu Hao. In what universe does that even begin to make any sense? It's high time everyone cut this bullcrap out, it's reached levels of stupid that's gone beyond comprehension.

He had some of the most devastating chain combos in Deadly Alliance. To me he was just another one of the new characters. I must've missed the part where he becomes the worst character in MK history. Some people went so fair as to proclaim him the worst fighting game character of all time! Anyone who says that obviously hasn't played too many fighting games (seriously, I've seen entire rosters with worst designs and play styles than Hsu Hao could ever be, even on his worst day) or they're just a fanboy hack. I hoping he'll beat the odds and return to the series someday, along with Moloch and Drahmin!

  24. Sareena

Sareena is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. She debuted in Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and first became playable in Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition. A demon from the Netherrealm, Sareena allies with Sub-Zero and seeks freedom from her past as an assassin under Quan Chi... read more

1 of the best characters introduced in MYTHOLOGIES. Should have appeared in MK the AND MK D.

Great, attractive, and very strong, but a very underrated MK fighter. In Armageddon, Sareena was one of my favorite characters.

  25. Rain

All I need to say is: super badass kick that sends the opponent flying across the WORLD and lands behind Rain.

Badass and super fast combos. My favorite to play with

Danger purple ninja of quest Edenia. He is doing transmith lightening and he is great fighter. Rain is discoveh him PC Game MK Ultimane and serial MK Conquest and last Mortal Kombat affers.

  26. Tremor

Baraka is Edenian MK warrior, he have big mouth and teeth, worst face. Baraka is to game MK 2, in hand is zords. And film Mortal Kombat annihilation and legacy is werry intelect creature.

Baraka was my go to in mk2 I just loved how he had all the sword based moves, people might say he's not special, but man he's cool!

  28. Skarlet

Skarlet is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. She made her debut in Mortal Kombat (2011) as a downloadable character. In Mortal Kombat 11, she returned as a playable character with an expanded backstory and a reimagined design.

Such a ripoff from both Kira & Nitara she sucks plus her design is so bland

  29. Kano

Kano is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game series. He is one of the original characters, making his debut in the first Mortal Kombat arcade game in 1992. Kano is known for his cybernetic eye and affiliation with the Black Dragon criminal organization.

Very underrated character, has some great moves (KANOBALL), iconic finishes (heart rip) and cool design. The only reason I've ever heard anyone hates them is because there evil, but mk is nothing without the villains- PLUS many people like milena and quan chi so I don't see that as a genuine reason to hate.
