If you say they're overrated, "might as well jump." - naFrovivuS

Eddie influenced vai, no eddie no vai

Ok, who put Van Halen on this list? Eddie practically invented shredding!

The Rolling Stones are on the list too so obviously people just don't want to hear about the Stones or VH anymore. VH 1978-2012. VH r the real deal. Check out the classics just from the David Lee Roth era...the entire debut album, VH II, Fair Warning, 1984, Women and Children First. All reasons why people wanted to become musicians and start bands to kick ass too. Don't forget A Different Kind of Truth from 2012. We aren't talking' bout some wanna bee clones, these r the guys that kick started the guitar revolution and popularized shredding. enough said about that - frankmartin

Absolutely worthless, generic, unoriginal band that has never done anything we haven't heard before done better by other bands. Their popularity really baffles me.

These guys suck, I don't know why so many people like them...

46 Eagles Eagles The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971 by Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner.

Take it Easy, Desperado, Tequila Sunrise, I Can't Tell You Why, Love Will Keep Us Alive, Life in the Fast Lane, New Kid in Town, The Last Resort, Already Gone, One of These Nights, Lyin'.Eyes, Take it to the Limit, Heartache Tonight, The Long Run, Sad Cafe, Peaceful Easy Feeling, Witchy Woman, How Long, Get Over It, Learn to Be Still Best of My Love, Seven Bridges Road, Outlaw Man...

VERY underrated! If you voted for the eagles, name a song besides Hotel California

Underrated, really

Popularity = overrated. the bands most talked about get the axe seems to be the case. If a band exists for a couple decades with moderate success people let them slide. If they explode with a huge album then they become the talk of the town and then starts the criticism. - frankmartin

49 Def Leppard Def Leppard Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement.

What's overrated generally is a when a band is know for having one really hugely successful album out of nowhere and then a series of lesser successful releases. Not the case with Def Leppard. They started the string with a an ACDC like attitude and grittiness and then on their third release hit the big time with Pyromania but this wasn't a fluke because they hit it even bigger with Hysteria. They continued the success on the next album and then toned it down till around 1999 with the release of Euphoria a back to basics mix of Hysteria and Pyromania but with out all the shine and gloss. Their subsequent albums haven't sold nearly as well but are really cool records. Hysteria was that huge record that got everybody talking and it overshadows all their other achievements. - frankmartin

Might be overrated, but hell I still find myself singing along in the car when one of their many hits come on the radio

Ariana Grande is overrated

51 All Time Low All Time Low more.

Never got the hype for this band. The same 3 chord pattern pop-punk that we've heard a thousand times over. Lost in Stereo, personally is the only song that kinda sticks out from the rest. But yeah, repetitive, necessarily bad but stuff we've heard a lot better before. - Sosbrad

53 Mötley Crüe Mötley Crüe Mötley Crüe was an American metal band formed in Los Angeles, California on January 17, 1981. The group was founded by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, lead vocalist Vince Neil and lead guitarist Mick Mars.

Considering Motley's heyday was short lived you can hardly call them overrated. Most of the pop metal bands of the 1980s were short lived. They had their success and that was it. It isn't like people are still talking about them all the time like The Beatles or Pink Floyd or Nirvana. - frankmartin

They aren't overrated - christangrant

That comment makes no sense. Yeah Megadeth aren't Black Sabbath. So what? They're a completely different style of metal, and regardless, Megadeth are regarded as one of the all time greats of metal for a reason - they are.

People need to stop worshiping this band. They are no black sabbath

They are only overrated because of their fanbase - christangrant

They need to be much higher on the list. They're not even rock, they're pop

I only like one song- My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).

I'm trying to understand their appeal. Still haven't found it. - naFrovivuS
