Top Ten Reasons the Star Wars Prequels Aren't that Bad

The Top Ten
1 They tell the story of Darth Vader.

Whether you liked how it was told or not, the tragic backstory of Darth Vader I believe was effectively told.

They turn Vader into arguably the most sympathetic of all fiction

Yeah, it was a well-needed story.

2 The lightsaber duels were amazing.
3 The sound effects and music were outstanding
4 Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars film after Empire Strikes Back.

Totally true! But 4 and 6 were awesome as well.

5 They introduced a new generation of fans.

The prequels allowed for thousands of new fans to join us in experiencing the amazing Star Wars films.

Yeah its no ones fault they weren't born when A New Hope came out.

6 They teach you more about Sidious.

In certain cases, it is good for someone's past to remain a mystery, but the Original Trilogy did not touch on how Sidious to power at all. I like that the prequels effectively told us how Palpatine rose to power while still keeping his past somewhat of a mystery.

7 The CGI was good.
8 A fan proved that they can be amazing with a little bit of editing.
9 They gave us a deeper understanding of the Sith.

Thanks to the prequels, we now have a much wider knowledge of the Sith.

They weren't mentioned at all in the original trilogy

10 We saw Yoda in action.
The Contenders
11 Ewan McGregor delivered an excellent performance.

Hayden Christensen may not have satisfied us fans so much, but Ewan McGregor certainly did.

Yes he did, a great one.

12 We learned more about what The Force is.
13 The space battles were so much better than all of the space battles in the originals.

Once you have seen the sequences in the prequels you will be incredibly underwhelmed by the battle in the OT.

Opening to episode 3. Period.

14 They added so much to the Star Wars universe.

The Clone Wars T.V. series is but one amazing product of the prequels. These movies truly gave us so much more to explore.

15 They tell the story of Obi Wan Kenobi.

Aside from Darth Vaders past, we learn a lot about Obi Wan. And while I believe the films should have touched a bit more on Anakins friendship with Obi Wan, and a little less on this weird forbidden love story, you can clearly see that Obi Wan and Anakin are brothers, and that they have a great respect for each other. This makes that duel between Obi Wan and Vader in A New Hope all the more emotional.

16 They tell you more about Boba Fett.

Many people will disagree with me on this but I personally didn't mind the backstory provided for Boba Fett. A lot of people said that it made Boba Fett less mysterious and cool, but I think that seeing his dad's head lobbed off before his own eyes is what began Boba Fetts path from the cowardly and admittedly annoying little clone to the rutheless mysterious, bounty hunter we all know and love.

Yeah, it actually does.

17 We learned more about the Jedi and Sith.
18 They have awesome villains.

Awesome villains, unlike the originals which didn't have much, although Darth Vader was great!

Example Darth Maul Jango Fett and Count Dooku

19 They were much more emotional
20 They were original.
21 The Obi-Wan vs Anakin Fight was awesome.

I have to admit, it was probably the best of the prequels.

22 They introduced new, amazing planets
23 There were very powerful scenes.
24 Jake Lloyd was only in one prequel
25 They were creative.
