242 Simon and Garfunkel Simon and Garfunkel Simon & Garfunkel were an American folk rock duo consisting of singer-songwriter Paul Simon and singer Art Garfunkel.

What! 476 oh wait there not really a rock band more of a soft folk band. Still love em though.

HOW IS THE DRAKE BELL BAND BETTER

243 Paul McCartney and Wings
244 Meat Loaf Meat Loaf Michael Lee Aday is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor usually known by his stage name Meat Loaf.

THIS is a rock band...Michael Aday's vocal performations are brilliant and Jim Steinman's songs are masterpieces, like the entire Bat out of Hell saga or Couldn't Have Said It Better...Even its greatness and to have one of the most sold albums of all time, it isn't recognized as it deserve, but with songs like Bat out of Hell, I'd Do Anything for Love or Bad for Good (with Brian May) they're at least one of the best bands ever

Meat Loaf?! You kidding me? Meat Loaf was a heavy metal band that didn't sing heavy metal. I mean what kind of song is I'll Do Anything For Love But I Won't Do That? Clearly he'll do anything for love because he disgraced metal and took a dump on some loose-leaf paper and put a slow tune to it. But I guess that's just the eighties. Metal bands in the eighties (excluding the actual good bands like Sabbath, Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Dio, Slayer, and Anthrax) had to have at least 3 crappy slow

Meat Loaf at 100 no way he should be in the top 4 With amazing Songs like Bat out of Hell Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Seize the Night - Greenday

I accidentally tapped the vote button while scrolling down on my ipod.

245 Kansas Kansas Kansas is an American rock band that became popular in the 1970s initially on album-oriented rock charts and later with hit singles such as "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind".

It is disgusting that this band receives so little to no public recondition, yet it easily deserves to be in the top ten of best rock bands In history. That may sound like an arrogant thing to say, but listen to the band there guitarist and you'll find they match the quality of Angus McKinnon Young, there drummer is unmatchable, there singers sing at the level of Freddy Mercury (not to mention they all play at least one instrument). They are unmatched all together and therefore forced me to spend 3 years trying to find a more perfect band -- none, even the Beatles, lead zeppelin, and Queen are out-gunned. Give this band a chance music lovers.

A very underrated band, known only for Carry on Wayward Son and Dust In The Wind, both of which are nowhere near their best song. They are, in my opinion, the best progressive rock band out there, or at least best American Progressive Rock band, and songs such as Journey From Mariabron, Lamplight Symphony, The Pinnacle, Miracles out of Nowhere, Magnum Opus, Lightning's Hand, Sparks of the Tempest, and A Glimpse of Home are really great songs, and I bet if you listen to them, you will find them better than most other bands, including many other Prog bands such as Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, and King Crimson. - DarkenedBrutality

Possibly best band EVER! An example of there greatness is their best song ever "Carry on Wayward Son"

These guys are great! They kind of remind me of the band Boston.

246 Switchfoot Switchfoot

This is just sad. Heck, the JONAS BROTHERS are in the low hundreds. This band at least deserves a place in the top fifty, probably the top ten. Switchfoot's lyrics are pure and meaningful and relevant. Their music is moving like so few bands can pull off these days. Best albums: Oh Gravity and Vice Verses. Best Songs: Restless, Your Love is a Song, Dark Horses, Awakening, American Dream... This band deserves WAY more than what the world gives them, one of the few GOOD bands still alive and running out there. Thanks Switchfoot for giving me hope that the music industry isn't in ruins!

THEY ARE so so COOL MAN ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! The person who has made this list... Please LISTEN TO DARE YOU TO MOVE! And YOUR LOVE IS A SONG! AND THEN GIVE ME REASONS WHY THEY aren't IN THIS LIST!

They're amazing. Just because they have Christian songs, no ones voting for them.

247 Billy Talent Billy Talent Billy Talent is a Canadian rock band from Mississauga, Ontario. They formed in 1993 with Benjamin Kowalewicz as the lead vocalist, Ian D'Sa on guitar, bassist Jon Gallant and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk.

It is a great injustice that an incredible band such as Billy Talent is lower on this list than the Jonas Brothers. Their uniqueness should be embraced.

I like all of their songs and they just never get old. Good lyrics and an epic stage performance make this band worth the first spot!

This great talented hard-working band is just amazing and unique! Plus, Ian, Jon, Aaron and Ben are awesome human beings who bring very much to their fans!

Simply amazing

Way more hits than most of these bands. Foreigner deserves top 50

250 Manowar Manowar Manowar is an American heavy metal band from New York City, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy and mythology.

Because they can make music nobody else can create. That's why I think they should be on top 5. Manowar is awesome! Manowar is one of the best rock bands in the world.

251 Placebo Placebo Placebo are an English alternative rock band, formed in London in 1994 by singer-guitarist Brian Molko and guitarist-bassist Stefan Olsdal.

PLACEBO SPASEBO! RUSSIA LOVES YOU! YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME HERE!

I wanna say that Placebo is the most deepest band in the world. They make me feel happy and sad, make me cry and laugh in the same time. Their music is really wonderful and breathtaking! Love, Russia

I listen to all sorts of music, but Placebo is forever my number one. I've been a devoted fan since 2005 and I will forever be. When bands keep selling out and going very much mainstream and pop when they rocked like no tomorrow just a few years ago, Placebo stays true to themselves. Their music has changed over years, of course, you can easily differentiate earlier and latest stuff. But the mood, the unique style, Brians signature voice are forever there. Much love from Russia, Moscow.

Love these guys, I forgot about them lol...it's weird that Acarde is ahead of them...

254 Bush Bush Bush are a British rock band formed in London, England in 1992. The band found their immediate success with the release of their debut album Sixteen Stone in 1994, which is certified 6× multi-platinum by the RIAA.

Bush deserves better than 361 they are a very important part of 90s music.

Not the best band, but had lots of decent stuff, should probably be higher - mtndewlord

WHY IS THIS IN 246? This band should be in the top 20. They were awesome in the 90's.

Bush is very solid. Should definitely be higher than this.

255 Bee Gees Bee Gees The Bee Gees were a pop music group formed in 1958. Their line-up consisted of brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb.

Quite low for a band that sold 100 million records and had a zillion top 40 singles, don't you agree?

Thing about your love will thing be gees song! It should be top 100

Definitely, it should be at the top of the list. This great band is constantly overshadowed by the disco hits, when really they are so much more. They have great music from almost every genre. Barry still continues to crank out hits in the U.K. despite the loss of his brothers. How many other bands have as many great songs? Most bands at the top of this list are known for for the small amount of great work that they did at the right time. timing is everything for fame and legacy, but it never should overshadow real quality, which is what many forget.

It's a crime that Bee Gees aren't top 10, what though #255? they're THE band that defined 70s sound

258 Halestorm Halestorm Halestorm is an American rock band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, consisting of lead vocalist and guitarist Lzzy Hale, her brother drummer and percussionist Arejay Hale, guitarist Joe Hottinger, and bassist Josh Smith .

Maybe not the best band of ALL TIME yet - give them a few years - but definitely the best of the 2000's. I don't think they've written one bad song. They've done some awesome covers as well. And their live show is epic! Plus they're really good to their fans.

The female lead gets a lot of attention (well-deserved; she's awesome) but the three guys in the band are talented, too. I love that all four of them are good musicians in their own right, besides being amazing as a band.

Amazing female voice! You must listen her songs such as angels, love bites and shatter me with Lindsey stirling, I bet you will love her

They have some really awesome stuff! Check them out if you haven't!

Really? This low?! Unbelievable.

260 Crowded House

Neil Finn is one of the best songwriters of ALL TIME. Seriously, the man is a genius - listen to any of their albums for definitive proof. Pure gold people.

Can't say enough about how good the songs are - never seem to lose their magic.

Temple Of Low Men and Together Alone are back to front masterpieces. Timeless music on par with any of the greats - Finn is incredibly unhearlded and underrated. Sublime.

Finns forever.
