Top 10 Best Sonic the Hedgehog Voice Actors
Who were the best voices of Sonic The Hedgehog throughout the legendary icon's history? Here.This was a really tough choice because for me between Jason and Roger (sorry Ryan, but you lacked some emotion at many times. These two never lacked proper emotion), especially considering I grew up with Jason, but I think that Jason, although having trouble finding his own style of Sonic at first and tried to sound like Ryan in Shadow the Hedgehog too much, portrayed his Sonic a little bit better in his final performances. But while I can admit Roger found his style of Sonic ever since he first performed in Colors, I feel like Jason did a slightly better job in his best performance than Roger did in his best performance.
Initially, he wasn't good. I sometimes watch reruns of Sonic X and his line delivery is borderline cringe at times. However, by the time Sonic Unleashed rolled around, he'd found his footing and his performance in Sonic and the Black Knight is to this day his best performance in anything he's done. Seriously, he's REALLY good in that game and I was excited to see what he'd do next. It wasn't just Griffith either. Pretty much every one of those 4kids actors were giving good performances at the time of their departure. Aside from Tails, there is not a single voice actor in the current roster that I feel is an improvement. Roger Craig Smith has the cocky part down, but his voice lacks heroism and most of the time, he just sounds bored. The guy they got for Knuckles sounds almost exactly like Dan Green so why even bother replacing him? And don't even get me started on the guy they got for Shadow. He. Is. AWFUL!

I totally disagree with this list. Jun'ichi Kanemaru is a much better voice actor than Ryan Drummond, Jason Griffith and Roger Craig Smith.
Drummond will always be my favourite. The way he portrayed Sonic... It was just wonderful. It felt like it's not a man voicing a blue hedgehog, it felt like it WAS a blue hedgehog. Sorry, Jason and Roger, you both are great, but I just love Drummond's acting!

No way roger sucks as sonic because it makes us feel like he is voiced by a black guy plus roger's tone does not fit for sonic at all.
Roger for me just suits Sonic's cool, laid back personality but has that energy and excitement to him. Sonic Colours was a highpoint of his.
Roger Craig smith is great. In the upcoming game sonic forces he will hopefully win a lot of fans over.
