Top 10 Most Underrated Sonic the Hedgehog Characters

The Top Ten
  1. Silver the Hedgehog

Silver the Hedgehog is a fictional character from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. He first appeared in the 2006 game Sonic the Hedgehog and is portrayed as a telekinetic hedgehog from a post-apocalyptic future. Silver travels back in time to prevent disasters that would destroy his world... read more

Silver is so cool! He's got a lonely heart, but he's such a loyal friend! Silver is amazing and the best! He is a hero and a very intelligent hedgehog. He's also probably the most handsome out of the three hedgehog guys.

Silver is a lonely guy, but he pulls it together just for his friend. He would die for her! I am head over heels for Silver! Ultimately, my favorite Sonic character!

Silver is a great character. Granted, he's not my favorite Sonic character, but here are my top 3: 1. Sonic, 2. Shadow, 3. Silver. I like Silver mostly because of the Archie Comics and his story in Sonic '06 (I liked '06, by the way). Overall, Silver is the most underrated, in my opinion. For those fangirls out there, I'll buy you a Silver plush.

  2. Amy Rose

Amy Rose is a fictional character in SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is a pink anthropomorphic hedgehog known for her cheerful and competitive personality, and she is infatuated with Sonic, the main character of the series. Amy is notable for being the first playable female character in the Sonic... read more

She doesn't really get too much attention. A lot of people see her as just a person who doesn't do much and is mostly useless. Sure, she may have a huge crush on Sonic, but she does do something.

There have been several examples of her fighting to protect her friends, specifically in Sonic X. Watch episode 9, "The Last Resort," to see what I mean. She doesn't just fight for Sonic because she likes him. She does it because she wants him to be safe.

Amy is not overrated. She is the most underrated character in the whole series. It's really sad, actually, seeing this poor twelve-year-old girl get so much hate when she's not even a teenager yet. Just give her time to mature. Plus, she is improving.

In Sonic Lost World, she didn't do anything to be annoying, and in Sonic Boom, she's a mature young lady. Plus, she's always going out of her way to help her friends! How is that annoying?

  3. Charmy Bee

I just hate the scene in "Defective Detective" where Vector, Espio, and Charmy are introducing themselves, and Charmy never gets a chance. It was kind of rude for Espio to budge in and interrupt him like that.

Sure, this guy was annoying in Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog, but he is just an energetic kid. Cut this guy some slack, huh?!

Seriously, why a cute little bee?!

  4. Big the Cat

Big the Cat is a character that appears in the anime series Sonic X and in its comic series published by Archie Comics. He is a large anthropomorphic cat from Sonic's world who was sent to Earth for a time due to Chaos Control.... read more

Well, Big the Cat and Rosalina (from Mario) are finally meeting their matches - themselves. Anyways, in Sonic Adventure, I best liked Big the Cat's gameplay. Just kidding. I still love that kitty, though.

People hate this cat because of his gameplay in Sonic Adventure (which I do too), but he is not always like that. For example, in Sonic Heroes, he lost Froggy again, but there's no fishing involved!

So, most of his lines consist of Froggy and his fishing games suck. He's just a chill character who would rather relax than fight. Nothing wrong with that. It's nice that he really cares for his only friend.

  5. Cream the Rabbit

Cream the Rabbit is a fictional character from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. She is a kind and polite young rabbit who is often seen with her Chao companion, Cheese. Cream has appeared in various Sonic games and animated adaptations since her debut.

Nowadays there's no reason for her to appear in the games. We've got plenty of characters that can glide now, and she only came in to save her mom. Why would someone kidnap a regular woman, especially over and over again? She's even younger than Tails.

Also, as fun as you might think killer Cheese is, it's too overpowered.

Besides all that, I like that Cream is a sweet and polite little girl.

Cream deserves much better, and she also deserves love and respect. Forget being a sidekick. Cream should be the leader of her own squad, and she deserves a much better role as a hero.

There is nothing wrong with her being girly, and she's better off with Tails - even he himself also deserves much better. I see nothing wrong with her at all, and she is truly a great character no matter what. She is not useless. She has the potential to become powerful. Don't blame her. SEGA, give her a chance. Cream is never useless at all!

  6. Jet the Hawk

Jet the Hawk is a character from SEGA's Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is the leader of the Babylon Rogues and is known for his arrogance, pride, and obsession with wealth and treasure. Although Jet rarely takes his leadership duties seriously, he knows how to assert his authority when necessary.

The reason I mostly play Sonic Riders games is because of the Babylon Rogues. They are pretty funny.

  7. Marine the Raccoon

  8. Vector the Crocodile

Vector the Crocodile is a fictional character from the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. He made his first appearance in the 1995 game Knuckles' Chaotix and returned in Sonic Heroes as the head of the Chaotix Detective Agency.... read more

I wish I could vote for most of the Chaotix. But seriously, Vector the Crocodile is just as powerful as the Flight Leaders and other Power Leaders from Sonic Heroes. What's not to love?!

He's a good character. Sure, he may be broke, but he's a nice guy, despite the fact that he is a crocodile.

So underrated. It's annoying how underrated this guy is.

  9. Espio the Chameleon

Espio the Chameleon is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise who first appeared in the 1995 Sega 32X game Knuckles' Chaotix. He debuted alongside Charmy Bee and Vector the Crocodile as part of the Chaotix team. Initially portrayed with a short temper, Espio's personality evolved significantly... read more

I see people hating this guy because he was the reason Mighty the Armadillo retired. Well, actually, I heard rumors that they might bring Mighty back in later Sonic games.

  10. Fang the Sniper

If Fang the Sniper actually had a Southern accent, I would consider him lovable, like Classic Sandy Cheeks and Mater (from the Cars duology). Team Hooligan is underrated, especially Bean the Dynamite. Fang the Sniper can jump higher than his height and is brainy. I love him for that.

  11. The Newcomers
  12. ?

    Infinite

Infinite is very cool, in sonic forces he was the main antagonist along with Eggman he uses the Phantom ruby to for example create a sun over the resistance.

Some people think he's a copy of Mephiles, but he's not. He's far from that. Mephiles was born from pure darkness and just wants to take over the world because he can. Infinite is different. Infinite wanted to help Eggman because he was tired of losing. In Episode Shadow, it was shown that Infinite's team, the Jackal Squad, was destroyed. Infinite then tried to destroy Shadow because he was upset about him defeating his team. He joined Eggman and got his powers because he wanted things to change, and he thought the only way to do that was to change himself.

  13. ?

    Zavok

Sure, all the other members aren't that threatening, but you can't ignore that Zavok is really evil. He tried to destroy the world and turn Tails into a robot just to instill more hopelessness in Sonic, which is the recipe for a threatening villain.

I'm genuinely happy whenever he reappears.

  14. The Contenders
  15. Chris Thorndyke

Chris Thorndyke is a fictional character and the main human protagonist of the anime series Sonic X, which is based on Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog video game franchise. He befriends Sonic and the other characters after they are transported to Earth. Chris plays a central role throughout the series, especially... read more

I'm glad he's on the list. I used to hate him in the series for some reason, but now, I find him a bit of a likable character and mostly feel sorry for him.

The reason why is because of the deleted scene from episode 51. That scene was about Chris' backstory with his parents. He asked them if he acted good for his caregivers, they'd come back, and they promised him they would, but then they didn't! Especially on his birthday, they didn't appear. It's so sad. It really shouldn't be a deleted scene for the English series. 4Kids is just trying to make Chris a horrible, unreasonable character with a secret backstory nobody could ever notice. I saw a fanmade game series where Chris somewhat appears (Sonic Omens) and dies. I still feel sorry for Chris.

  16. Blaze the Cat

Blaze the Cat is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog series who first appeared in the Nintendo DS game Sonic Rush in 2005. She is a princess from an alternate dimension and the guardian of the Sol Emeralds. Blaze possesses pyrokinetic abilities and can transform into Burning Blaze when empowered... read more

She is one of the greatest female Sonic characters, unlike modern Amy Rose. She is well-loved only due to the broken Sonic fanbase, like many other heroic Sonic characters.

Another incredible Sonic character and should not be underrated.

  17. Vanilla the Rabbit

She deserves a bigger role, and she deserves to be a hero.

Vanilla, she helps a lot, but no one notices. She deserves more! Vote Vanilla!

  18. Mephiles the Dark

This guy deserves a lot of credit. Did Eggman or Shadow ever succeed in killing Sonic? Mephiles did. Even if it was non-canon, it happened before being erased from history.

  19. Rouge the Bat

Rouge the Bat is a video game character in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series. She made her debut in Sonic Adventure 2, released in 2001 for the Sega Dreamcast. Rouge is a jewel thief and government agent, known for her confident and flirtatious personality, as well as her complex relationships with other... read more

Rouge is very underrated. She is an amazing fighter and an awesome thief. She will always be a favorite in my book, and no, I don't like her because she's sexy. I'm a girl, and I think she's a badass!

Another cool character who I don't know how she became so popular in such a short time.

  20. E-123 Omega

As much as Silver is my all-time favorite fictional character, I feel he's both under- and overrated! Omega is like Gamma but if you gave him the Sonic Boom Knuckles treatment. The only difference? Omega is brilliant. Watch the Super Gaming Bros play Team Dark, Sonic Heroes on YouTube, and you'll fall in love with this guy!

Forget Mettaton. Omega is the sexiest robot out there (I appreciated that handsome comment).

On a serious note, in a series full of over-dramatic characters and throwaway robots, it's refreshing to have a character who is good at what he does and stays true to his one goal - annihilating Eggman's robots! Gotta love his quotes from Sonic Heroes.

  21. Sticks the Badger

The crew behind Sonic Boom should have left the comedy to her and Eggman, with Sonic butting in at times.

She should be in more Sonic shows seriously. Only Sonic Boom? She is super cool and very paranoid.

  22. Shadow the Hedgehog

Shadow the Hedgehog is a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series released by Sega. He is an artificially created black and red hedgehog with hover shoes that enable him to move at extreme speeds, rivaling those of Sonic.... read more

Shadow is my favorite, plus he is literally the most edgy and underrated character in Sonic!

He helps Sonic even if he will not admit it! He saves Sonic's life like over five times!

One of the most underrated characters in the whole series.

  23. Princess Elise the Third

I know she is mostly a ripoff of Peach from Mario, but she doesn't deserve as much hate as she gets. I know the scene where she kisses Sonic is a bit weird, but she did it for a reason. She kissed him so that Sonic could be brought back to life. If it wasn't for her, then Sonic would still be dead, and Mephiles would've taken over the world as Solaris. That's all I can really say about her, but think about my words, please.

I can't see why she is underrated. To be honest, I always thought she was badass because she was the only one, aside from Violet Parr, who had the ability to form a rolling Incredi-Ball when pairing up with a speed-type character. So yeah, I definitely give Princess Elise a lot of credit.

  24. Classic Eggman

I was talking about most classic Sonic characters when I added Classic Eggman to the list. Yeah, I know. I prefer Classic Sonic over Modern Sonic for many reasons.

Should be way higher. He's hilarious.

  25. Miles "Tails" Prower

Miles Prower, more commonly known by his nickname Tails, is a fictional character in Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series. He is a significant main character after Sonic, who is also his best friend. Tails is a two-tailed fox who can use his tails to fly and is known for his skills in mechanics and aviation... read more

Miles "Tails" Prower, the most dangerous mind in the series, is underrated. You know that fans talk about him a lot, and he has been mentioned countless times among the most popular Sonic characters, such as Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles, and Amy. Other geniuses like Eggman, Starline, Wave, and Kit, and other cute characters like Marine, Charmy, Cream, Honey, Vanilla, and Cheese, are often compared to him.

Tails is pretty close to being the William Afton of the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. If Tails is going to die, he'd die doing what he loves: being crushed to death in a robotic suit that he made himself. Tails is an amazing character, and to tell the truth, everybody loves him alongside Sonic and Shadow. And Knuckles - we need to throw the meme in somewhere, don't we?

  26. Ray the Flying Squirrel

SEGA revived him and Mighty, so they are thankfully getting more attention now, thanks to Sonic Mania Plus!

Ray deserves a lot more attention and appearances, possibly his own game to help him gain popularity.

Definitely. He's the cutest one too, especially his voice! I love how he was portrayed in Sonic Mania Adventures and how he was revived. His voice would be the Tails and Sonic Pals voice, just because the Sega Sonic the Hedgehog arcade game wouldn't be enough to judge on.

  27. Dr. Robotnik (Sonic SatAM)

  28. Bunnie D'Coolette

  29. Tails Doll

Only by the creepypasta, I guess. I almost never heard of this.

I looked at videos of this, and it's cool. It's like an evil Tails.

I'm not scared of Tails Doll. But I wanted him to have the same eyes as Tails, whether he's Classic Tails or Modern Tails.

Why are people scared of this thing?
