Top Ten Best Sonic the Hedgehog Songs
Everyone please note: this list includes level music as well. Enjoy!
This song is honestly the most dynamic song in the franchise because it is supposed to represent the personalities and personal goals of both Sonic and Shadow and it accomplishes that with miles to spare! It's edgy but fun guitar, raw vocals, and seriously catchy lyrics make this song the best the franchise has ever made.
This is probably the best Sonic song that has ever been made. It's a perfect stylistic combination of Sonic and Shadow and bridges the gap between their personalities seamlessly. It's got an upbeat and poppy tempo with amazing guitar to balance it out with a more edgy sound. The vocals are classic and the lyrics are a mesh of the ultimate goal of the characters. Live and Learn. Hanging on the edge of tomorrow.
Passionate and fierce lyrics. I think they perfectly describe Shadow and Sonic. Sonic: "You need to live in order to have your best life" Shadow: "you need to learn to get it right." The two are a perfect duo, and this song is a total masterpiece. I consider it one of the best next to Dream of an Absolution and I Am All of Me.
Most may say this deserves to be higher on the list, but I don't think it's greater than the ones above. It is a great song, don't get me wrong. It acts as a sort of theme for Sonic and Shadow in the situation they're in. If only you Heard more of it. Clips of it in menus and intros isn't enough. Neither is the final boss.

I have never replayed a level more than this one; simply because I wanted to hear the music more! The crazy uptempo beat and fun feeling this song give off are undenyable. From the opening "Wooo!" of this song, you know you're in for a wild ride!
"Rollin' around at the speed of sound! Got places to go, gotta follow my R-A-I-N-B-O-W! Can't stick around have to keep moving on, guess what lies ahead only one way to find OUT! Must keep on moving ahead! No time for guessing, follow my plan instead! Trusting in what you can't see. Take my lead I'll set you free! Follow me, set me free, trust me and we will escape from the city! We'll make it through from me to you! Follow me! Oh yeah! Danger is lurking around every turn, trust your feelings got to Live and Learn! I know with some what faith we'll make it through, got no other options only one thing to do-o-o-o-o-o! I don't care what lies ahead! No time for guessing follow my plan instead! Find that next stage, no matter what that may be. Take my lead I'll set you free! Follow me, set me free, trust me and we will escape from the city! I'll make it through! Follow me! Follow me! Set me free! Trust me and we'll escape from the city! I'll make it through prove it to you! Follow me! ...more
Sonic Adventure 2 gave us Shadow, Live and Learn, some of the best gameplay ever, and of course this masterpiece. This one has such an awesome poppy feeling with a super catchy chorus and exceptional rhyming! It's such a great driving song!
This one of the most nostalgic, memorable and upbeat song in the series. It is no doubt one of the best. It should be higher than Sonic Heroes. Should even be higher than that, in my opinion.

This isn't just the best Sonic the Hedgehog songs. This is one of the best Video Games Songs EVER. Too catchy and inspirational. Not to mention, the game was FANTASTIC, considering what that time period was like for SEGA.
God! This song seriously pumps you up and feels that you can do anything, which is quite inspirational. Pne of the true masterpieces of the sonic franachise.
Oohh yeah. This song is awesome. It's so catchy and it's kinda inspirational when I think about it.
I love this song way too much.
You know what, I have never reached for the stars before... It's night now so... I think I'll try it out!

This song gives of an epic vibe every time I hear it. Much like live and learn, this is the main theme of adventure 1, but is heard more, making it get stuck in your head better.
You opened your heart. But blood came out... Well this song is really good but I think it should've been SA2
Such a kick ass theme for the theme of Perfect Chaos! I hear it and go, "Right, time to kick watery ass! "
I just adore this song. The rock in it is just honey to my ears.
Best song ever! Most favorite have it recorded on my ipad and when I herd this the first time in the credits I couldn't help but smile
It's very close between Live and Learn and this, but I have to give the edge to this.
There is endless possibilities. That is basically what it means.
To be honest Live and Learn is probably the weakest Crush 40 song.

Sonic Heroes has notoriously the best soundtrack of any Sonic game in my opinion. It's got team chaotix, Sonic Heroes, and this one just to name a few! I feel that this would be a song that Sonic, Shadow, Knuckles and Vector would ALL listen to, meshing several styles together to get a unique and original style that still corresponds fantastically with the other songs in the game. It is exceptionally motivational and has a very rocky sound in it's format make it very distinctly Sonic.
Well, In my opinion, WIMO is chronologically repetitive considering the previous Adventure titles, but what's not to love?
Honestly, this is probably the best final boss theme in any Sonic game.
Awesome song love it
Like many Sonic songs, this is both very representative of Sonic the Hedgehog's image and philosophies, and paints life as an exciting adventure or action-packed journey. The part that stands out most to me is the chorus, which is mostly about real life - "Never fear the fall", never be afraid of things that might hurt or hinder you. Just keep going. "Every step meets the rest", everything falls into place, if not now, then in the end.
Another thing is that the background vocals say "His world" while the lead vocals say "This world". This creates sort of a double meaning where what this song is saying is not only from Sonic the Hedgehog's view. It IS "this world". It is reality. All that this song is saying is the TRUTH about this world we live in.
This song has made it's way to a huge amount of sonic fan movies, even fan movies with more video game characters like GAS the ultimate crossover. His world is My song because it gives power to Solaris phase 2 final boss with the epic kind of a beat
This song has an epic mix of orchestra and electric while crush 40 does his amazing rap vocals, such an amazing song for a terrible game.
This song has rock, rap, techno and some violin in there. I sing it every day. ITS PERFECT. I didn't mind sonic 06 either.

I know, drawing 3 times in a row is technically cheating, but you know? I don't care! Both of these songs are epic and rock themed. But the difference is, a change in bands! Crush 40 does the main theme, while with me, the final boss theme is done by all ends
This song some sort of underlying gritty, fierce might that is more than fit for a knight.
It's fairly unlike anything Crush 40's ever done for Sonic, and it's truly an epic.
Best Sonic Song. A perfect fusion of orchestrated beauty and hardocore guitars. The violins here go in, and that creates the best sound for my ears. Sucker for anything orchestral and rock really, so this just hits the sweetspot
Songs like His World, Endless Possibilities, Aquarium Park, Seaside Hill, and Live and Learn are all great, but Knight of the Wind is just so rad!

This song is amazing and unique and perfect and high-tech and emotional and everything. Because it's the theme song for the best sonic character ever (what, I like Silver) makes it even more, nostalgic. I mean, this should be no. 1. By the way, this song is higher on this list than All Hail Shadow, Never Turn Back, I Am... All of Me, Speak With Your Heart and Knight of the Wind. Its not the best song in video game history (that would have to be Surely Someday from Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy) but its number 2
A high-tech, high-emotion beat, with such sad vibes that you can get goosebumps. If you close your eyes while listening to this, you can almost picture the dark world in which Silver fights to make better. The whole aspect of the song is so strong and passionate that it's almost impossible not to love. Open Your Heart and Reach for the Stars are both good, too, but I feel like this is better.
This is the ABSOLUTE best. The lyrics are full of passion, sadness, and dreams. The song is a song of past, present, future, and a broken world. It tells a story--Silver's story! It gives off the best vibe ever!
It really is an awesome song! It reflects so much of Silver's character... so much so that it pretty much tells his feelings on the whole thing in a five min song! Silver is awesome, and so is this song!

Showing the complex emotions and raw power displayed with Shadow, this song is an instant jaw-dropping masterpiece. The iconic opening notes of this instantly pull you into the world that Shadow is living in and brings you to a point where you can understand his perspective. The song brings a new genre to the Sonic franchise and it's a welcome addition. He's not just Shadow or the Ultimate Life-Form when you listen; he is all he can be. All of him
One of the best parts of Shadow's game, this song perfectly captures Shadow's attitude and thoughts toward the world. The rock ballad style with the heavy guitar and drums give it a more edgy flair which is just what Shadow should have in a theme about his internal struggle.
Dark lyrics and strong emotion. Shadow the Hedgehog is a mystery of a character and this fits him perfectly. "Step into my mystery...hold on for dear life." OMG, it's probably one of my favorite songs ever.
This is literally my second favorite song ever! I love how dark and depressing it is. What? I just like that sort of stuff! But this is my favorite Sonic song as well!
The Newcomers

It's either this the Zebrahead version of His world, which never plays in 06, while this one plays quite some times.
The latest and the best song ever please listen and vote for it and also try the game ITS LIT! has rap and pop elements
This song makes me want to give SEGA a fist bump!
Together we can show the world what we can do...
Upbeat opening and the lyrics go quicker. "Runnin' back again, well what you expect? " (sorry if I got it wrong)
Better than crush40.

I absolutely love this song. It truly show someone who has a lot of hate and wants to prove themselves as the most powerful being there is. DangerKids did a great job. Personally I think it should be higher up. Definitely worth a listen for fans of Sonic.
An INFINITELY good song. I believe it represents the character very well. The song definitely conveys the power and threat that Infinite imposed in Sonic Forces, and it did a damn good job.
Infinitely good. It embodies the need to prove oneself to the world.
This song is AWESOME! I am listening to it way too much at the moment...

This song was really what got me into the Sonic music scene and made me a fan. I remember playing this game and this theme song always got me so pumped every time! A perfect song to portray the teamwork at play!
When I think Sonic, this is what I think of! I remember playing this with my cousin on his GameCube and loving every second of it! Even after all these years I still remember all the lyrics and when it plays over my speakers, I just can't help but get pumped up!
I really liked this song. It's one if the more famous songs here, due to it being the same title as the game, and also it being segas first mufti platform game. But, crush 40 does another great job with this one.
What a way to start a game! It's fresh, iconic, and powerful. It makes you want to play the game.

Green Hill deserves to be at least #3. I guarantee you that even the non-Sonic fans would recognize this theme immediately. THIS was the 90's, this is what you heard when you first learned about Sonic. Green Hill Zone is THE Sonic theme. None of the other themes can compare.
It's just original. This has to be on the list because if this wasn't created the future music wouldn't be created
I really love the green hill zome theme. It brings back many nostalgic memories and is very iconic.
This should be higher, this song is a classic.

Awesome guitar and bass mixed in with the rock vocals- this song is awesome.

Super Sonic Racing! Try to keep your feet right on the ground! Super Sonic Racing! There's no time to look around!
This should be top 1! Screw every Modern Sonic song with vocals! Go with Classic Sonic!
Everybody's super sonic racing gotta keep your feet right of the ground!

Honestly, I even like this song more than Shadow's other songs. It starts with that gloriously sad piano playing the notes for I Am All Of Me and from there it descends into a lovely transition of a classic rock song. The verses are better than chorus in my opinion, but I will never turn down listening to this one. It's sad, motivational, and determined all at once. Such a jam.
Never Turn Back Kicks Butt The Rock is Good The Beat is Good and the Lyrics is great Crush 40 Thank you For doing that Song and Make a Music Theme For Sonic Boom the Game and T.V. Show
This Is the best song from a Sonic game that has ever been released.
One of my favorite songs ever!
A masterpiece that veers from the typical Sonic format of high adrenaline and pop-esque sound, and instantly cemented itself as an incredible piece by doing so. It's definitely more serious and uncertain, giving off the vibe that Sonic also shares those same thoughts. It's sad, deep and powerful with a booming chorus and spectacularly emotional vocals. This song certainly belongs with the greats.
Best sonic song .

This song breaks from the typical Sonic mold by starting off with a beat that also includes a serious amount of electronic sound and three verses instead of just two. The guitar is awesome as always and the lyrics are perfect for a racing game, speaking about breaking free and "falling free into the wind,". The rhyme scheme is also so on point it hurts! It's another awesome Crush 40 song that pairs expertly with it's game!
This song is great! If only the game was great...
Love this song! Super catchy and fun!
My number 2 sonic songs

Sonic: "…as long as the voic inside tells me to run and fight, it doesn't matter who is wrong, and who is right! "
Knuckles: "are you seriously singing that song AGAIN? "
Sonic: *rips out earbuds* NO, no. Who was singing?
Knuckles: *rolls eyes*
This deserves top 10!

Okay I like this version better than the one from Shadow the Hedgehog but no offense to anyone who like the Shadow the Hedgehog version better. Just my opinion.
