Top 10 Most Powerful Star Wars Characters

The Top Ten
1 Yoda Yoda is a fictional character in the Star Wars space opera franchise created by George Lucas, first appearing in the 1980 film The Empire Strikes Back. He is portrayed by Frank Oz.

Would have killed the strongest sith to exist has Sidious stopped running.

The most powerful jedi. Faster than he looks if you've played any games.

Hundreds of years old

2 Darth Vader Darth Vader is a Star Wars character and the main antagonist of the first three original Star Wars films and the main protagonist of the Star Wars prequel trilogy under his original name Anakin Skywalker. He had been trained as a Jedi but defected to the Sith lord and Galactic Chancellor Palpatine. He adopted the name Darth Vader, and was placed in a suit after his legs were cut off and his body was burned after a fight with his former master Obi-Wan Kenobi on the planet of Mustafar. He returned to the light side upon feeling conflict when finding his son Luke and turned stopped the now emperor Palpatine from killing him. In the original trilogy, Vader was physically portrayed by David Prowse more.

How powerful is Vader from the movies?

Force Choke: Vader has used this ability many times in the first three movies. It requires him to think of an invisible hand around someone's throat. However, most of the time this power cannot kill and results in vibration of the throat and coughing. Also, although the hand is invisible the victim can clutch at their throats and break the grip. Also, this power can take a long time to become effective.
Vader can use this to lift small objects or levitate himself.
Vader can use his advanced strength to overcome opponents.

Most powerful force ability is the force choke. The choke is a ability that causes little pain to the throats of victims and appears as if the throat is dancing. The victim will have a little more difficulty breathing but nothing dangerous and the victim can break the grip by prying off the invisible hand placed on their neck. Also gives the victim the opportunity to attack the user as they will waist so much of their energy on this power leaving them drained. Overall, not dangerous and can be broken by getting off the hand.

We should take a look at the force choke! It most of the time can do little more than be an annoyance as it casually dosen't have the power to snap a neck. Powerful force users can kill but requires great focus and some victims can kill the user while being strangled and even then sometimes cannot snap a neck. The force choke is just annoying and cannot really kill and doesn't usually have the power to harm the victims.

Vader is one of the most powerful mortals in all of Star Wars. When he is conflicted, he may be below people like Sidious or Yoda, but when enraged, he possibly exceeds those two in sheer power.

3 Palpatine Sheev Palpatine (also known by his Sith identity Darth Sidious and publicly as Senator Palpatine, then Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, and later Emperor Palpatine) is a fictional character and one of the primary antagonists of the Star Wars franchise, mainly portrayed by Ian McDiarmid.

Able to bring the Jedi order and the Republic to its knees, Palpatine is incredibly powerful. While it can be argued that he lost the lightsaber duel to yoda in revenge of the sith, he probably grew more powerful until the events of return of the jedi, making him number 1 or 2 with vader as his competition.

He could fight both Darth Maul AND Savage Opress at once for a while. All this talk of Vader being stronger than him is stupid. Sidious could kill Vader in maybe 3 minutes, tops.

What emperor is on 4th place. What a rabish. He is most powerful. He is powerful than vader yoda kenobi.

Darth Sidious number 10? This list is Dumb!

4 Obi-Wan Kenobi Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, played by Sir Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.
5 Luke Skywalker Luke Skywalker is a fictional character appearing as the central protagonist of the original film trilogy, and as a supporting character in the sequel trilogy of the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas. He is portrayed by Mark Hamill.

Old Luke Skywalker is the most powerful person in Star Wars. Period. Not only was he able to beat Darth Vader when he was YOUNG, but he has accomplished more feats than any other Jedi in the star wars universe. He is feared by the entire First Order and even is capable of force lightning. He conjured up a ghost of himself to challenge Kylo Ren across the GALAXY. He can defeat Vader, Sidious, Yoda, Rey, and anyone else that challenges him.

No question about this one. George Lucas himself said that Luke was the most powerful jedi who ever lived. End of discussion!

Number 8? Really? George Lucas said himself that Luke is the most Powerful

6 Mace Windu Mace Windu is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, portrayed by actor Samuel L. Jackson in the prequel films.

I would put windu at number 5 maybe. The debate is really between him and a lightside anakin skywalker. I believe vader, yoda and sidious are all more powerful than mace windu but a revenge of the sith anakin is very slightly more powerful.

He is such a bosss! He created Vaapad, and mastered ALL SEVEN styles of lightsaber combat. Not only is he the bestn lightsaber duelist of all time, he is also an EXTREMELY powerful force user who sould use the force crush, which Yoda couldn't. He beat palpatine/ sidious in a duel and was the second most senior member of the Jedi Council, only after master Yoda. He also lead the 212 jedi in the Battle of Geonosis, and... KILLED JANGO FETT, one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, who is very, very famously known for killing MANY, MANY Jedi. Plus, Obi Wan failed to defeat him. Mace Windu should be higher than Dooku, Luke, Vader and Obi wan.

He's awesome. Funny how he's the only character to have a purple lightsaber.

Can use dark side against you.

7 Darth Bane Darth Bane is a legendary Sith from Star Wars. Darth Bane was one of the greatest Sith lords who ever lived in the Star Wars universe. Darth Bane's greatest accomplishment was creating the Rule of Two, making the Sith a secretive order with one master and one apprentice. The apprentice would learn everything they could from their master, than when they were strong enough, they would kill them, and the cycle would repeat. Bane believed this would allow for the Sith to become strong. Darth Bane makes an appearance in Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Lost Missions, as well as the Darth Bane Trilogy. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Bane is voiced by Mark Hamill.
8 Star Killer
9 Count Dooku Count Dooku of Serenno, from the House of Dooku is a fictional character from the Star Wars franchise, appearing in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith as a primary and minor antagonist respectively. He was portrayed by Christopher Lee and more.

He was personally selected by Yoda because Yoda sensed how powerful he was and that no-other Jedi could teach him.

He was so overrated

10 Anakin Skywalker Anakin Skywalker is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He appears in the original trilogy as a main and pivotal antagonist serving the Galactic Empire, while his past as Anakin Skywalker and the story of his corruption are the focus of the prequel trilogy. Skywalker is portrayed by Jake Lloyd in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Hayden Christensen in Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. He is voiced by Matt Lanter in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The chosen one, who at base level is perhaps slightly below mace windu. However, when enraged or if the force wills so, he can perform extraordinary feats (such as defeating the son and daughter on mortis) which makes him deserve the number 4 spot among mortals.

The chosen one

The Contenders
11 Darth Revan Revan is a fictional character in BioWare's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game. The character may be either male or female, though Revan is canonically male and follows the game's light-side path. He also has his own Old Republic book in which he is a male human, turned Jedi, and turned Sith.

Darth Revan could breath Luke Skywalker, obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader easily.

He should be number one because is the strongest person on this list.

He should be at least 15. This list is silly

12 Darth Nihilus Darth Nihilus is a fictional Sith lord who serves as a primary antagonist in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II.

He is can kill planets.

13 Darth Malgus Darth Malgus is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Malgus was a member of the Sith Order during the Old Republic, and serves as an antagonist in The Old Republic video game.
14 Admiral Motti

Admiral Motti was the stockiest man in the galaxy, and could have ruled the Empire if he really desired to. Tarkin and Motti started to grapple, the two briefly struggled but Motti was stronger, not only was he much bigger and taller, his bones were stronger making him stronger. Tarkin was pushed on the ground, Motti now was on top of him about to punch him. Tarkin gauged at Motti's eyes, saving his life for the moment, until Motti lifted up Tarkin and threw him against the ground once again on the ground. Tarkin tried but he could not get the young man off, Motti had a warrior's build being 6'5 and over 220 lbs of muscle. Tarkin heard his bones crack as Motti started choking Tarkin until finally killing him. Motti went to Vader as Vader choked him, Motti started gasping for 10 minutes before clobbering Vader with his superior frame. Motti was choked by the Emperor for 40 minutes until being durable enough to survive it and killing the emperor. Motti now ruled the Empire, the end.

While Motti can't dish out tremendous amounts of damage he can take it. Can Motti survive the force push, yes and the choke as well. In the choke scene one can see an angry Vader attempt to choke Motti in which results in an struggle with Motti at first taking the choke with no hand up to clutch due to the fact Vader's choke was so weak. However Motti was getting annoyed by it so he put an hand up to his throat to prye off Vader's grip until Tarkin thought it was childish. Vader had failed in many ways with first being making himself look immature, and second being that Motti knew the extent of his abilities, and knew that his throat could withstand Vader's grip. What people forget is that Vader is not an op character but rather an armored old man who has a fetish for choking people with the force. Case closed Motti won

Admiral Motti was an intelligent, and physically strong man. He was known for his physique, being very tall and muscular, and was at peak human levels of prowess. Motti was also known for being quite durable as he easily tanked an angry Vader's force choke. Sure, he may not have the force but his intelligence, physical ability with him being strong and durable will ensure that he stays in the fight. Vader choked him which resulted in some throat pain but that's all Vader could do.

What makes him so great is his sassy, strong and sarcastic personality and when he insulted Vader which caused him to telekineticley choke by Vader's power. However Motti clutched at his throat and trying his best to tug off Vader's powerful grip. It was working ever so slowly and he managed to get a few breaths as Vader said I find your lack of faith disturbing and the two continued their confrontation before Vader released him at Tarkin's command. One thing was certain. Vader although powerful couldn't have killed Motti as the choke is not simply powerful enough to do the deed.

15 Padme Amidala Padmé Amidala is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, appearing in the prequel trilogy portrayed by actress Natalie Portman.

Padme's taller and bigger than Leia giving her bone crushing strength compared to her. She's survived a fall that would have been a concern for Jedi. She's proven to be tougher than metal literally a nexus claws who cut through metal only gave her scratch marks and that's it. She's more durable than most Jedi, and just as quick if the movies are to be watched.

Ranking Padme above a skilled Jedi is silly, but she's still impressive. And in peak condition. She's been able to fall hundreds of feet from a gunship, while already being scratched by a cat creature. And although she was incapacitated for about a minute, she had no bruises or broken bones. A Clone Trooper wearing armor designed to absorb energy was incapacitated for about the same time. Able to kick heads off of droids, who are made of metal. Outpace droids and destroy them before they can react. Heal from a big scratch in one day without scarring. Force choked by Anakin, while pregnant and remain in perfect health. Leap dozens of feet into the air. Withstand a blow from a creature that could decimate pillars with only superficial marks on her skin. Casually dodge blaster bolts. React and keep up with Jedi during the Battle of Geonosis without fatigue. While no force user, Padme shouldn't be underestimated.

While she isn't quite as beautiful as her daughter she is still an attractive woman who can use her beauty along with her intellect to manipulate nearly everybody! Although Leia is stronger Padme is more durable and extremely hard to harm and is arguably superhuman as she has survived falls, hits from large breasts and force chokes from bloodlusted force users.

One of the more durable star wars characters, she fell from a spaceship around 100 feet and was only stunned for a few minutes and she had no scratches or bruises and was seemingly unharmed. She also took hits from Nexu which could take out droids with a single swipe and push over pillars, and she sustained minor injuries from it. Padme could take Leia's hits all day.

16 Darth Maul Darth Maul is a fictional character in the science fiction franchise Star Wars. Trained as Darth Sidious's first apprentice, he serves as a Sith Lord and a master of wielding a double-bladed lightsaber. Darth Maul debuted in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, and has made subsequent appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

He is underrated. If Maul fought Yoda, he win 2/10 times. Also, TCW Maul would win 4/10, and can beat Obi Wan Kenobi

17 General Grievous General Grievous is a fictional character and antagonist in the Star Wars franchise. He served as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Armies during the Clone Wars. He is voiced by Matthew Wood.

Grievous is awesome! His four lightsabers make him a powerful enemy.

18 Kylo Ren Kyle Ren, also known as Ben Solo, is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Kylo Ren commands the First Order with a temper as fiery as his unconventional lightsaber. Ren first appeared in 2015's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Ben Solo, the son of Han Solo and Princess Leia, was more.

Kylo is very underrated and is PRETTY good. However, his abiliteies are no match for at least 38 jedi and 44 sith, and even boba or jangon could take hi down... with help, of course!

19 Rey Rey is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise, portrayed by British actress Daisy Ridley. First appearing as the central character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey is a scavenger who was left behind on the planet Jakku when she was a child, and later becomes involved with the Resistance's more.

Maybe even too powerful for her own good.

She should be 1

20 Snoke Supreme Leader Snoke is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. Snoke served as the mysterious leader of the First Order. Supreme Leader Snoke is a CGI character voiced and performed by Andy Serkis.
21 Plo Koon Plo Koon is a fictional Jedi Master who appeared in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2014; 2020).

Didn't plo look beat Yoda? He should be 1. - Unnamed Google User Remade

22 Grogu

Especially for a baby.

23 Darth Vitate

Introduced as the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, she is a central protagonist of both the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent TV series. Ahsoka Tano was voiced by Ashley Eckstein more.
