Top Ten Predictions for Star Wars: Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker
So you guys definitely saw the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. Some things will certainly happen, I guarantee it. Here's a community list you guys can add to. None of these are accurate of course. Some of these are based on the trailer, some aren't.The laugh at the end, plus the fact that Ian McDiarmid is alive, can give some hints to this.
Yep, this is for sure, but the question is, how?
Given that this is going to conclude the main movie series, we can probably expect a Rebel victory.
While I can probably predict the demise of the First Order, it will likely come at a great cost. The Falcon has clearly made its mark as the true rebel ship, but perhaps it has overstayed its welcome.
Well, Rey is not really a Skywalker. Mark Hamill is doing the voiceovers, but he's probably a force ghost by that point. Still though, with a title like The Rise of Skywalker, we can probably expect a Skywalker, regardless, playing a big role in a movie with the title.
Given that Carrie Fisher has already passed away but still appears in the role here, I can tell she's not going to last long. I still somehow think she's getting an offscreen death considering that Carrie is already deceased, but you can never really know for sure.
The saga should end with a great duel.
She's probably a Mary Sue, since I never heard of this character, but given Poe's rash attitude and Leia's obvious conditional ambiguity, she'll probably be the most likely to lead the Resistance and perhaps get some actual development. Hopefully, they don't make the mistake of keeping her a Mary Sue like Holdo.
This may sound stupid, but given that Luke's doing the voiceover and Palpatine's laugh at the end, these two characters are quite obviously in this movie. But given their fates, they're probably ghosts. However, as you may have seen in The Last Jedi, Yoda's ghost had the power to do something. This could mean that Luke's ghost and Palpatine's ghost - or possibly another famous ghost - could come into play against one another using the power of the Force.
This might happen but I hope it doesn't because it would be too unrealistic, in my opinion.
I don't really understand why Rey is holding the blue lightsaber, especially since it was destroyed by both her and Ren during their showdown in The Last Jedi. However, I can guarantee that given it's probably the only blue lightsaber left, it's likely they managed to repair it somehow. Another theory is that she's using Obi-Wan's blue lightsaber, but then again that was on the original Death Star when it blew up. Of course, with the destroyed Death Star remains, anything is possible.
Another silly theory is that the two medals that were awarded to Han and Luke at the end of A New Hope are going to play a role, somehow. They weren't really seen past that, until this trailer came by.
Just like how Darth Vader sacrificed himself to save Luke Skywalker.
Yoda, Obi Wan, Luke, Anakin, and maybe Mace Windu and Qui Gon Jinn will train Rey and try to teach her everything she needs to face Palpatine.
