Randomator's Favorite Mario Characters

Okay, this list was so hard to put together. I like a wide variety of Mario characters. Anyway, here are my favorites.

This is kinda personal, so it's non-votable. (Don't want anyone to be stupid enough to add PGP.) However, feel free to message me what you think or tell me your favorites.

The Top Ten
  1. Bowser

Bowser is the main antagonist of the Super Mario franchise. From kidnapping Princess Peach to causing trouble in the Mario Party spin-off series, the King of the Koopas has become one of the franchise's most recurring enemies. He first appeared in the 1985 video game Super Mario Bros., in which he kidnapped... read more

Yes, the Koopa King himself is my favorite character of all time. And what's not to like about him? He is powerful, has shown some wicked powers, has the most advanced technology, is a great father at the same time, and is just cool on top of that.

  2. Luigi

Luigi is a major character in video games and related media produced by Nintendo. He was originally introduced as a green-colored palette swap of Mario and is portrayed as Mario's younger, taller twin brother.

Created by legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, Luigi appears in many titles across... read more

Of the Mario Bros., I think Luigi is the more interesting. (I still like Mario.) Luigi is kind of the shy underdog coward, but it makes his accomplishments that much greater. Luigi is shy yet bold enough to conquer his fears when the situation calls for it.

  3. Shy Guy

Shy Guys are recurring enemies in the Mario and Yoshi video game series. They are known for wearing masks that hide their faces. These characters have appeared in various games, often acting in different roles such as enemies, racers, and sports players.

Personally I think Shy Guy is an awesome character. He always has a mysterious feeling to him. He's either good or bad. He reminds me of a cartoon villain character that isn't good or bad. Those types of characters are always the most interesting.

  4. Ludwig Von Koopa

Ludwig von Koopa is a villain in the Super Mario franchise. He is the self-proclaimed leader of the Koopalings and is known for his pompous and arrogant personality. His abilities have included creating clones, causing earthquakes, teleporting, shooting magical projectiles, and performing a flutter jump... read more

Ludwig pretty much is me. If I were a Koopaling I would be Ludwig. We are the oldest of our siblings, smartest, creative, and have been the wingman for our parents. And both like the color blue.

He is normally the most challenging Koopaling to fight and always has an evil look on his face, like he has another evil plan cooked up. I'm glad that he's getting more attention like the others. It's a shame that they were put in the spinoffs at the cost of some veterans, but they were nice additions.

  5. Bowser Jr.

Bowser Jr., sometimes simply called Junior, is a video game character in Nintendo's Mario franchise. He is depicted as the son of Bowser, the primary antagonist of the series. Bowser Jr. first appeared in Super Mario Sunshine in 2002 and has since become a recurring character in both mainline and spin-off... read more

Bowser Jr. is just like his father. But he's more insane. In Super Mario Sunshine, his debut appearance, he raided an entire island pretty much. He also builds insane machines like E. Gadd. Just look at him in the Mario Galaxy games.

  6. Rosalina

Rosalina, known as Rosetta in Japan, is a major character in Nintendo's Mario franchise. She first appeared in the 2007 Wii game Super Mario Galaxy and later returned in its 2010 sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2. Since then, she has appeared in selected main-series Mario games and numerous spin-offs. Rosalina... read more

Rosalina is a character that I completely flipped on. At first I didn't care about her. Then I remember going back through the Galaxy games again a few years ago and I just think of her when I think of Mario Galaxy. She's an icon for one of my favorite Mario games of all time.

  7. Yoshi

Yoshi, once romanized as Yossy, is a fictional anthropomorphic dinosaur featured in video games published by Nintendo. He often appears as a sidekick and helper to Mario, playing key roles in many of Nintendo's most popular titles. Yoshi is especially well known for his appearances in the Yoshi's Island... read more

You should know why he's here. No explanation needed.

  8. Dry Bones

My main in Mario Kart DS and Wii, which were my first two Mario Kart games. He's just always been a favorite of mine. Don't even know exactly why. Nostalgia I guess?

  9. King Boo

In the Super Mario series, King Boo is the leader of the Boos and a recurring antagonist. He is a large white Boo who wears a crown and has appeared alongside Bowser in conflicts with Mario and his friends.

In the Luigi's Mansion series, King Boo plays a more central role as Luigi's primary nemesis... read more

It's not too often that we see a main boss other than Bowser. King Boo is a fresh idea and he's overall a unique character.

  10. Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong is an arcade game developed and published by Nintendo in 1981. It is an early example of the platform game genre, with gameplay focused on maneuvering the main character across platforms while dodging and jumping over obstacles. The game marked the debut of both Donkey Kong and Mario, who... read more

DK is a character that I have always loved since I got Mario vs. DK: Mini-Land Mayhem when I was 6. I just have always liked gorillas and so that's kind of how I liked him.
