Koopalings with the Best Personalities

The Top Ten
  1. Iggy Koopa

I used to hate him, but after reading this list, I like him. He reminds me of that crazy, partying older brother you see in movies, but is still grounded enough to know right from wrong. He's wild and out of control, but he uses that to his advantage in NSMBWii.

Iggy is the weirdo nerd of the bunch, and I like it for some reason. He really reminds me of Waluigi. Anyway, my favorite boss battle against him is with the Chain Chomp in NSMBWii. Oddly enough, I found it the second hardest in the game (only the final Bowser is harder).

  2. Larry Koopa

Larry Koopa is the youngest of the Koopalings. He first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3, which was released in North America in 1990. Larry is recognized for his blue mohawk and mischievous personality, and he was created by Nintendo as one of Bowser's seven loyal minions.

A lot of people say that Larry has no personality. He has one, but just doesn't show it as much as the others do. Larry is supposed to be the sibling who wants his own peace and quiet and gets easily annoyed with his very outgoing siblings.

He's by far the most relatable Koopaling for most people.

I adore Larry. He is adorable, and after Color Splash, his personality became a lot more interesting. He might be one of the less developed ones, but I still adore him!

My favorite Koopaling, he's so cute and cool and has a good personality (which is the one that wants peace and quiet). This is very relatable, but what's even better is that he's not "grumpy," which means he likes peace without being an easily annoyed jerk like Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants. He also likes to have fun, proving that peace and quiet lovers aren't grumpy jerks.

  3. Ludwig Von Koopa

Ludwig Von Koopa is a villain in the Super Mario franchise. He is the self-proclaimed leader of the Koopalings and is known for his pompous and arrogant personality. He is said to possess all the powers of the other six Koopalings, including cloning, causing earthquakes, teleportation, and shooting lightning... read more

Of the Koopalings, Ludwig is the most developed. Being the so-called leader of the bunch, he really has a similar personality to Bowser Jr., which isn't a bad thing. His boss battles are almost always unique and hard, from flutter jumping to meditating in midair and creating clones of himself.

He was the only boss I actually struggled with in NSMBU. Also, he has probably the most unique hairstyle of all.

Even though he's my 5th favorite, he is great!

I love how he tries to be a leader (even though the others don't agree with him) and he's very intelligent! The only one who is as intelligent as him is Iggy! (I'd say the 2 smartest characters in the franchise!)

I do like a good half of the Koopalings more than him, but he is great!

  4. Lemmy Koopa

Lemmy Koopa is the youngest of the seven original children of Bowser, the Koopa King. Fascinated by the circus and acrobatic acts, he has made performing his life's calling. Lemmy dreams of showcasing his physical feats and never misses a chance to captivate an audience.... read more

Lemmy just say (see what I did there?) that despite being on the lower end of this list, I am quite fond of Lemmy. Probably the cutest of the bunch, he has a goofy personality that fits him perfectly. His boss battles are always entertaining. He balances on a ball and it keeps you on your toes.

Not much else for me to say other than that he is rumored to be on the older side, yet he has the highest-pitched voice of the group (including Bowser Jr). Interesting.

I like him in NSMBWii. He has this kiddish, playful personality that really shows in the boss fights. I like how he uses a bouncy ball, and his design and weapons just scream, "I love toys and I love destruction, so I'll combine BOTH to defeat the Mario Bros!"

Lemmy is the perfect mix of little kid and evil villain.

  5. Morton Koopa Jr.

Morton Koopa Jr. is one of the seven Koopalings in the Super Mario video game series by Nintendo. He is typically depicted as one of Bowser's children, although this relationship has varied in different game iterations. Morton is recognized by his large build, gray skin, and distinctive star-shaped birthmark... read more

I like Morton, but I like most Koopalings better than him. His level of brawn (noted by Randomator's comment) makes him a tough and intimidating opponent and shouldn't be trifled with!

I will admit, in Color Splash he was definitely the weakest Koopaling. He is the only one who can't one-shot players after they miss their chance to use the required item, and his attacks did less damage than the other Koopalings. His boss fight was also a little less interesting.

I still love him and every Koopaling though!

I like Morton because he stands out. His personality is the brawler without a brain. His dark skin tone really complements his personality for some reason. He looks tough, but I never found him too challenging.

My favorite battle against him is the one from NSMBU where he uses a hammer to hit segments of a Wiggler at the player. It's actually unpredictable whether it will be high or low, so you have to pay attention.

  6. Roy Koopa

Roy Koopa is one of the seven Koopalings, a group of recurring antagonists in the Super Mario video game series. In the DIC Entertainment cartoons, Roy is referred to as Bully Koopa. He has a tough-guy personality, wears hot pink sunglasses, and often sports pink clothing, which may be a nod to the idea... read more

I honestly don't think that Roy is unique. He's basically Morton only with sunglasses (and a few other minor things). He is slightly smarter.

If I had to pick a favorite boss battle against him, it would be NSMBU where he has a Bullet Bill launcher. Other than that, he's pretty dull and mediocre.

Seriously, Roy isn't all that bad, so stop picking on him for the way he looks because he is still an awesome boss. Let's face it, he is very brave and is good at his job!

  7. Wendy O. Koopa

Wendy O. Koopa is a female villain in the Super Mario Bros. franchise. She is the only female member of the Koopalings and typically works alongside Bowser in his schemes.

Wendy first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3 in 1988 and has since been featured in the Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario... read more

Like I said with Morton, I like characters that stand out. I like how Wendy is the only female. It really changes things up. Her personality fits perfectly with her for some reason (and no, I'm not talking about the cartoon version).

I like how she can throw her rings during a battle. Other than that, I think she's the most underrated simply because she's hated for her cartoon counterpart. This is stupid considering that it's been around 25 years since it last aired, and it's not even canon.

I always loved her because she was the girl and because of her boss stages. Her ships look so sophisticated and elegant while at the same time having this fierce, pirate touch.

Her rings look awesome in water, and I love how she leaps around like a ballerina, like in a "female assassin" way.
