Top 10 Most Forgotten Super Mario Characters
-
Pinky Kong (Donkey Kong Jr. Math)
We don't know why he's pink or why he's even in Donkey Kong Jr. Math.
-
Princess Shakora (Wario Land 4)
Despite beating Wario Land 4, I never knew about her. Many years later, I did some Google searches about this game and learned about her existence.
The Golden Diva cursed her, turning her into a black cat. When you end the game, depending on the chests you collected, the princess will return to her human form in a different way in each ending and thank Wario. Because I got the worst ending, I didn't recognize her. This is because the princess returns to her form shown in the upper image in the good ending or in a mature version of herself in the best ending.
She is cute, helpful, and my personal favorite Mario princess.
-
Axem Rangers (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
No one has spoken of them in years.
-
Wart (Super Mario Bros. 2)
Classic Super Mario Bros. 2. I love that game. Why can't Wart be brought back?
How is this villain from a well-known Mario game so forgotten?
Wart is my favorite Mario character of all time!
-
Draculad (Pumpkin Zone 1-1)
He only appears in a secret goal in Pumpkin Zone 1-1.
-
Fizzi (Paper Mario)
Fizzi wasn't in any game but Paper Mario. She is the gatekeeper of Mario and Luigi's house and is mentioned in Luigi's diary.
-
Captain Syrup (Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3)
Back in the day, they should have picked her over Waluigi or Daisy for Mario spin-offs. For one, she has history with Wario, Peach, and Mario. Secondly, she isn't a carbon copy of an existing character and has a different role (how many female villains are there? Exactly). She isn't just another princess and has her own individuality.
But this is the series that glorifies clones. Unfortunately, unique characters like her fade into obscurity while simple edits of existing characters like Rosalina get massive amounts of exposure.
She should come back. I see an opportunity in Mario Strikers: Battle League as a DLC due to the rivalry with Wario.
Besides, being a pirate makes her even more interesting for the game, with a water special shot that grabs Boom-Boom with an anchor.
A pity that she is so forgotten. She was nice.
-
Inviso (Yoshi's Story)
Inviso is only in one level in Yoshi's Story. You have to beat this hard level, and he's hard to defeat too. He never returned.
-
Tatanga (Super Mario Land)
Tatanga is a villain from the Mario Bros. franchise. He is known for kidnapping Princess Daisy and serves as her arch-nemesis. His most notable appearance was in the 1989 game Super Mario Land, where he was the main antagonist defeated by Mario.
This guy was an underrated villain. He should have appeared in future Mario games with unique 3D styles, especially since Mario Odyssey was released. I wish he had been included in the Mario franchise.
In the game, an alien kidnaps Princess Daisy (who became Luigi's significant other) and forces her to marry him. Mario (or possibly Luigi disguised as his brother) goes into action to rescue her.
In 6 Golden Coins, Tatanga returns from the space level as the boss, seeking revenge on Mario for ruining their marriage. If this guy appeared in Mario Odyssey, it would be the best.
I don't forget him. He is a nice-looking character who is not Bowser himself.
-
Funky Kong (Donkey Kong 64)
Funky Kong is a character from the SNES game Donkey Kong Country, where he runs Funky's Flights, providing transportation between game levels. He is best known for his appearance in Mario Kart Wii, where he became a fan favorite due to his high-performance stats. In the game, he has a +4 speed and +3... read more
Funky Kong is amazing! The last reference to him (I think) was in Mario Kart Wii.

Lemmy Koopa (Super Mario)
Lemmy Koopa is the youngest of the seven original children of Bowser, the Koopa King. Fascinated by the circus and acrobatic acts, he has made performing his life's calling. Lemmy dreams of showcasing his physical feats and never misses a chance to captivate an audience.... read more
He deserves to be forgotten. I'm tired of seeing him and his other little siblings in every single game.
-
Chestnut King (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door)
This guy isn't anywhere to be seen but in the realm of Eclair. The story of Eclair was told with Luigi getting beaten up by Eclair's father, the Chestnut King.
-
The Three Pig Heads (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)
-
Mallow (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
Mallow is way more forgotten than Geno. I hear about Geno often, especially in messages where people want him to be in Smash.
Many people who played this game remember Geno, but Mallow is forgotten.
Forgotten? Well, everyone mentions Geno, not him.
-
Baby Wario (Yoshi's Island DS)
I believed Baby Wario was fake until I played Yoshi's Island DS. Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and Baby Princesses were all real.
-
Chunky Kong (Donkey Kong 64)
Chunky Kong is one of the five playable characters in the Nintendo 64 game Donkey Kong 64. He is known for his large size and super strength, which are used to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Chunky is the older brother of Kiddy Kong and a cousin to Dixie and Tiny Kong.
And then there's Chunky... he's dead.
-
Geno (Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars)
-
Tamanoripu (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)
This teddy bear only appeared once in Super Mario Land 2 and was never seen again.
-
Koopa Kid (Super Mario)
I never heard about him, only in a YouTube video about forgotten Mario characters.
Not really forgotten, but he has not appeared in a Mario game since Mario Party 7 and Advance.
-
Bouldergeist (Super Mario Galaxy)
-
Foreman Spike (Wrecking Crew)
Mario's second rival behind Donkey Kong, referenced in Mario Maker, Smash Bros, WarioWare, and Mario Kart. But he is so forgettable that no one remembers him.
A forgettable character from Wrecking Crew who is considered the prototype of Wario. Who even remembers this guy?
-
Sabasa (Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins)
Her name is Sabasa, and Waluigi looks a lot like her. Maybe his face was inspired by her.
This annoying girl was seen once and never returned.
-
Antasma (Mario & Luigi: Dream Team)
-
Holly Koopa (Mario Party 8)
-
Sarissa (Wario's Woods)
-
Lubba (Super Mario Galaxy 2)
