Why don't the people who say this get a life, a brain AND some real friends? - 906389
I got friends with and without it
This list is dumb. I have aspergers and I have a LOT of friends - venomouskillingmachine
This list should be called “Top 10 most offensive things people can say to autistic people”
This is the worst thing you could say to someone that has autism. Why would someone want to draw attention with that excuse? It's horrible, I think nobody would want to do something like that.
How could someone even say this? Why would you fake something like this? The really sad thing is that I can see the popular people at my school saying this to someone with autism. - Minecraftcrazy530
Yes, my years having no friends, developmental delays, sensory pain, struggles to stick to a daily routine, etc. are all a performance JUST FOR YOU. You're THAT SPECIAL. (/sarcasm) And autism has neutral and good parts too, but clearly you don't care, because you're only interested in putting me down. If you are going to be like that, then please give me 0 more seconds of your attention. Yes, I mean leaving. I strongly dislike your attention. Please have a nice day, somewhere else.
Aaah god I hate this sayingV 2 Comments
It is annoying. When I'm in the cafeteria at school, I can barely hear my friends because people are yelling across the room, and they start having a casual yelling conversation, even though they are told not to. - CinderpeltandCinderheart
"If you want me to suffer, then I can go ahead and stop covering my ears! " Since our ears are more sensitive, loud noises can be painful to us. This is why I wear headphones so much.
I cover my ears when loud music starts. - DynastiSugarPop
I ALWAYS put on headphones/earbuds whenever my relatives starts speaking in baby talk, mostly when they’re speaking to babies, toddlers, or my cousins. If they are not extremely loud, I blast my music so I can drone out them talking.V 3 Comments
Definitely sick of hearing this especially with annoying Autism programs like Autism Speaks that make it seem like it's a disease or virus. It's not that, it's just a birth defect and hearing this garbage makes me cringe.
It basically is saying we shouldn't exist and that hurts. Imagine being told your very existence needs to be cured. Hurts, doesn't it? - LydiaLuna
Some people have special help for it, but it isn't a disease. Our lives aren't limited!
Sick and tired of the curebies!V 8 Comments
Although I'm not a MLP fan myself, I think that just because they like the show doesn't mean that they have autism, and people should respect other's opinions. - MarioMikuFan380
And these quotes are the most severe form of You-Need-To-Get-A-Life Syndrome!
Also, I don't mean autistic people are stupid, sorry if it came across as that to you. - CinderpeltandCinderheart

I do talk a decent amount, but people always tell me to speak up. - Turkeyasylum
I don't have autism, but man does this one annoy me. - keycha1n
Oh my.. I really hate this stupid "theory." - MarioMikuFan380
That's probably an urban legend
I have anti-vaxxer parents and I know what this feels like. My parents believe that autism is caused by thiomersal (hasn’t been used in vaccines since 2001 and I didn’t even exist back then) and that before vaccines, autism was very rare and came from mercury getting in the water. Then they tell me that the world would be worse if there were no autistic people! They told me that I was a typical child until I got my flu shot and MMR together, then I became very sick and became autistic. They want me to no longer be autistic. I want to tell them that Andrew Wakefield was a fraud, but I am afraid that there won’t believe me. They believe the government is hiding this, and that this is possibly to do research on autism by making kids autistic. The reason why autism diagnoses increased over the years is because as we know more about autism, the diagnosis criteria change, thus changing the amount of people diagnosed. I only realized this when my mom had me watched Vaxxed last ...moreV 3 Comments
I'm not offended by the word most of the time. But when people assume I'm in fact congenitally/Intellectually delayed just because I have autism, that's when it does offend me. Most autistic people are very smart people, and me as an autistic, I would say I have at least an average level of intelligence, if not slightly higher than average. Autism most of the time does not affect intelligence, the only time it does is in severe versions of it, which is more rare than you think. - RogerWatersfan1999
God, I get this a lot, I have high functioning autism and hate it when people say this to me.. "there are two retarded kids in our class" no we are autistic..
Autism is a social disorder, making it hard for kids who have it to be social. Autism is not in any way related to the intellectual part of the brain.
I hate when people say that because half of the time they don't know what a simple maths question isV 9 Comments
I am retared but I am Autistic
One time, My classmate, who has autism, throw a tantrum while I was trying to forcing him to watch my anime clip, Trigun, through my phone and called him a baby.
I know right some autistic people get butthurt over small jokes and I don't really like it since I tell a lot of jokes though most aren't really pffence. Anyway they're pretty cool once you understand them - AlphaQ
No, but he won't look at my anime video. how do I get him to pay attention to my video clip through my phone?
YES. Some of the jokes that people in my family tell me wouldn't even be funny who ISN'T autistic! I don't see WHO would laugh at being forced into doing something else that you have already done and didn't like as a joke.
This one annoys me, some jokes aren't meant to be taken seriously. I do know that not all people with autism can't take a joke, but a lot can't. Ex: Danteem. - Therandom
I've got austisim and some jokes I just don't find that funny
When somebody who is failing all their classes, and does extremely stupid things (yolo things) calls somebody with Autism who is towards the top of all their classes, and doesn't do stupid things, just lacks social skills an idiot, that is just extremely hypocritical. Many autistic individuals are intelligent, just lacking communication skills.
Eat my middle finger... Wait, that sounds a bit wrong. Forget it! - JaysTop10List
I am not faking it
I don't know an emotional autistic. - PanthersFTWpatriotsFTL
I meant emo. - PanthersFTWpatriotsFTL
I know that, yes.Does it bother me? No!
That is true. - CinderpeltandCinderheart
I am an autistic girl who loves watching Steven Universe, but that doesn't mean that I have no brain or lack of intelligence like idiots who say these kind of stupid things out of spite hate. At times I'll admit that I'm wrong, instead of acting like I know what I'm talking about.
Steven Universe is a very creative show that shows important life lessons, and I learn so much from them. Like self acceptance, parent issues, kid issues, finding out who you really are, and it shows us that there are different kinds of relationships from stable to unstable. Steven himself shows that he's comfortable with his masculinity by showing that he's not afraid of having empathy for others, and that he looks up to women for strength as well. ( Even though they're gender-less space alien rocks who go by the pronouns of she and her).
Now if an autistic girl like me can notice these things, then I'm surprised that the people who called us idiots and hates the show didn't even notice those ...more
Can't you let people like what they like? I like Steven Universe, mostly because of the gem thing, and I collect crystals. That's why I'm intrigued by it, as it is an original idea. - CinderpeltandCinderheart
At least Steven universe is better than teen titans go
Well, Pearl will kill the one who says that with a spear. - BorisRuleV 3 Comments
That was mean
No, you repent! God made me an aspie on purpose. It is a trade off of social and motor skills for intellectual and creative skills. I have a purpose for society, whether big or small! So, you should repent for your rejection of neurodiversity, and ask that the evil spirit of discrimination be taken out of you!
One time I was at an all autism party my parents sent me to and there was those two kids my age that hanged around a party and they didn't know it was an all autism party and when they found out they just shouted "WHAT? I'm in a disease party for sick people?! " - JelloLife
Autism is not a disease. - DynastiSugarPop
Autism is NOT a disease! - BorisRule
I know but it is annoying. - PanthersFTWpatriotsFTL
I'm autistic and I have a sense of humour. I tell jokes, and laugh at jokes.
Who are you talking to? I'm not a boy. - CinderpeltandCinderheart
EVERY TIME WE HAD TO DO GROUP PROJECTS, and I was put in one group, everyone, who knew I was autistic and thought I was dumb and gullible, just said that on purpose to get me out. I cried and didn't do the project.
AND I MEAN EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Damn that sucks. I know how you feel. At least it's not as bad as getting hit by a durian on the butt - AlphaQ
Wouldn't you be a boy? - Croy987
I'm not autistic, but this is atrociously offensive. - DarkMatter1997
And yours is mean!
That's what my 12 year old sister said to me
