1 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property." Exodus 21:20-21 [NIV]
That is Mosiac Law. Not applicable in today's society.
2 "If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have
committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense." - Leviticus 20:13 [NLT]
This is actually a mistranslation; it's actually "having sex with another boy." By the way, more Christians are more accepting of homosexuality than Muslims.
This is horrible. Its unfair and should be changed
God, this is awful!
Again Mosiac Law. Not applicable.
3 "Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet." - 1 Timothy 2:11-12 [NIV]
I am in no way a feminist. It's my personal opinion that women who try to compete with men lack ambition. BUT this quote has left me cold. It's just...wrong on so many levels.
This is referring to in Church learning. Women still play a role in the Church though.
4 "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy... and they will become your property." - Leviticus 25:44-45 [NIV]
Mosiac Law. Not applicable.
5 "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." - Matthew 25:46 [ESV]
Um, so basically this means you better be on the right side.
God is giving people an INFINITE punishment for FINITE crime, wow.
6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” ... You must certainly put them to death." - Deuteronomy 13:6-9 [NIV]
Mosiac Law. Not applicable.
7 "Now go, attack the Amalekites and destroy everything they own as an offering to the Lord. Don’t let anything live. Put to death men and women, children and small babies, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys." - 1 Samuel 15:3 [NCV]
8 "I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish." - Genesis 6:17 [NIV]
It's like your Minecraft world. If your upset with it you blow it up and start over. Just kidding I could give you a legit answer to this, but I'd rather not write an essay. Actually on the other hand I might...
9 "Then Jesus said to them, 'You cleverly ignore the commands of God so you can follow your own teachings. Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and 'Anyone who says cruel things to his father or mother must be put to death.'...'" - Mark 7:9-10
Clearly this list can be considered blasphamestic if you put items like The 10 Commandments on here.
10 Moses said, "Kill all the Midianite boys, and kill all the Midianite women who have had sexual relations. But save for yourselves the girls who have not had sexual relations with a man." - Numbers 31:17-18 [NCV]
11 "So the Israelites defeated that city. They completely destroyed with the sword every living thing in the city—men and women, young and old, cattle, sheep, and donkeys." - Joshua 6:20-21 [NCV]
12 "God said, “Take your son, your only son whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him up as an entirely burned offering there on one of the mountains that I will show you.”" - Genesis 22:2
Wait. You know he doesn't actually kill his son right. God was testing him.
13 "To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good." - Psalm 14:1 [ESV]
14 "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." - Leviticus 18:22 [ESV]
15 "If anyone should cause one of these little ones to lose his faith in me, it would be better for that person to have a large millstone tied around his neck and be drowned in the deep sea." - Matthew 18:6 [GNT]
