Top 10 Worst Years for YouTube
-
2017
This year witnessed a significant issue with low-quality content targeted at children, alongside a rise in internet challenges that normalized self-harm and suicide. Additionally, this was the year Logan Paul posted his infamous video.
So much content with profanity, sexual content, violence and drug use.
Bad year for privacy concerns. Modern-day YouTube is really bad.
-
2024
This year has seen a multitude of YouTubers quitting, including long-time creators like MatPat. It marks the end of an era and is now primarily dominated by edited animated videos, severely outdated memes, and AI-themed content. Additionally, this is the year when Verbalase spent $50,000 on featuring Hazbin Hotel's popular character in a video.
Should be ahead of 2016 and 2017.

SESAC is blocking songs and music videos.
Skibidi Toilet.
Gen Alpha content!
Why isn't this #1?

This was the year when YouTube inexplicably moved the comment section, began placing ads on almost every video (regardless of whether the creator is monetized), and saw the COPPA update go into effect on January 6th, 2020.
Year of the Among Us videos, enough said.
-
2016
This year marked a downturn for YouTube as they began demonetizing content creators for using certain words, especially swear words. It was a departure from the earlier times when creators could speak freely.

Remember when YouTube removed the dislike button for no apparent reason? What's next, removing every video on the platform?
The year that they removed the dislike count.
-
2023
This year is filled with content that can be described as 'brain rot.' Skidibi Toilet, Poppy Playtime, and Garten of Banban videos have gained significant traction among modern children. The introduction of YouTube Shorts has also contributed to issues similar to severe ADHD and ADD, akin to the impact of TikTok.
Please get this to #1. 2017 was better. Everything about 2023 is just about a damn toilet with a head and other Poppy Playtime crap. 2023 is the year that should deserve the hate, not 2017.
