Top 10 Best Things to Collect
The best and most interesting things that you collect.Coin collecting is profitable and fun. To earn a profit, there are plenty of coin shows or coin auctions around the world. There are also special organizations just in the U.S., such as PCGS (Professional Coin Grading Service), ANA, PCS, ANC, NGC, and many more. I even made a website and started an organization, the NC (Nation's Capital Coin Club), and want to start a grading service.
Numismatics is a hobby that deals with the collecting, studying, and making of coins, paper money, and medals. It is a hobby that has become a classic pastime for people of all ages. Currently, the ANA and Spruce Crafts have been very successful, and numismatics will always remain a very rewarding and profitable hobby.
My father and mother started collecting in 1985 and since then have all first pressings of CDs. These include Nirvana's Nevermind first press, Pink Floyd's Meddle (gold CD), Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here, U2's Achtung Baby bootleg, and hundreds more. Nowhere near as fun as collecting records though.
I have about 3,000 CDs in my collection (I also collect vinyl) and it's all sixties music (mostly mid-sixties garage bands, freakbeat, modbeat). The only problem with that kind of collection is that my bank account is usually almost zero by the last day of the month, but without it, my life would feel empty.
I collect Mario stuff! I have a poster on my wall and all of my prized figures, like Toad (whose arm fell off), Mario (one of them is Mario flying like he does in Super Mario Galaxy), Yoshi, and Luigi. I also have a bunch of mini figures!
I love playing video games, and I love collecting them. I collect for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, Genesis, Dreamcast, Sega Saturn, Sega CD, PS1, PS2, PS3, GameCube, DS, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, and even some of the rarer systems like PC Engine and 3DO.
I love collecting video games. I might not have a big collection, but The Legend of Zelda is amazing.
Diverse works of literature span cultures, places, and generations. Everything resides in the pages of a book: adventure, drama, comedy, satire, current events, history, fantasy, parallel universes, allusions to the global world, pop culture, facts, information, entertainment, educational ideas, romance, instruction, guidance, and most importantly, imagination. No price tag can be attached to that.
Above all, if you are an avid, die-hard collector (you may need serious funds), first editions can yield significant returns. However, for true bibliophiles, this would prove a difficult proposition.
Books are simply priceless.
Much like novels, films provide us with a mirror into many different worlds and cater to viewers with diverse tastes. There's something for everyone: romance, adventure, action, comedy, drama, fantasy, music, and more.
Whether you are a film elitist who strives to amass all Oscar-worthy opuses or an entertainment lover who gravitates to one or more specific genres, these are treasures to enjoy and share with the whole family. Passing them on to the next generation is much like preserving a priceless heirloom. With the advent of digital streaming, clutter does not have to be a problem. The same can be said for other media such as novels.
Film and novels are simply a win-win in terms of collecting and can be personalized to specific tastes or moods!
I have recently started collecting rocks, gemstones, and crystals. At the moment, I am finding it really fun. There is just so much to collect. I like collecting things you don't see everywhere, so when you do see them, there is always a sense of relief and excitement.
Every time I take a walk at a place where there are a bunch of rocks, I usually look on the ground for any rocks that look good or unique to add to my collection.
I have studied rocks from the age of about two. I never really realized it until I started secondary school when I became bullied, but I just can't help myself.
I have a box full of keychains, and my mum basically wants to kill me because I spend so much on them.
I love to collect keychains because I can remember where I went to get them, and they are little souvenirs to put on my backpack!
You can find keychains everywhere!
The best thing to show you are better than someone else. Also, you can show you are intelligent, but the best thing about it is that you can remember the techniques that you used to achieve those goals. You could make a wall in your room or in the library full of these awards.
Go get off your butt and make something of yourself. Maybe if you got up, you could get some awards and collect those.
I agree! I love collecting awards!
Wow, collecting stamps is awesome! I have stamps from over 20 different countries. I even have one from a country that doesn't exist anymore!
Stamps are highly collectible. My current collection stands at 435 different stamps from all over the world.
I've just started collecting mail stamps, and I am already learning! There are so many different kinds!
Heirlooms that may be passed from generation to generation are priceless in value yet a solid investment, amazing conversation pieces, and doorways to explore history and culture on a deeper level if you dare or desire. Depending on the type of antique, which may include but is not limited to paintings, jewelry, desks, rocking chairs, clothing, appliances, flatware, china, porcelain figurines, and lamps, they can beautify your living space or home.
Older things are always fun to look at and appreciate. The craftsmanship and detail that were put into them are amazing and should be remembered.
Art is such a wonderful way to decorate your home and gives limitless enjoyment to owners. It may also be considered an investment and tied to profit if you wish. I happen to collect Sandra Kuck and Thomas Kinkade art, and these are pieces I truly treasure and will never part with, not for any amount of money.
I love art! You could collect famous paintings and artwork. Also, you could do some of your own artwork and look back at it in a couple of years.
Art collection is amazing! You can have such incredible pieces!
Marbles are really fun and interesting to collect because there are loads of different styles. I have collected marbles over many years as well. You can find them anywhere!
Marbles. The only things even more versatile are cards, dice, and dominoes when it comes to the sheer amount of things you can do with these.
There were several factories in West Virginia that crafted marbles, and they are no longer in business, so they're great to collect.
I think collecting cards is awesome! They are so cheap, and you can get big folders to keep them in. I think Moshi Top Trumps and Bin Weevil cards are the best!
Practical for entertaining, and like someone said earlier, some decks are more than worthy of being called art.
You must own all of the Coca-Cola cards if you wish to be cool.
Signed guitars would be cool to collect!
Trading cards like Magic: The Gathering make for excellent collecting. The art in the cards is now considered a kind of folk art. Also, they are incredibly easy to store because they are nearly the same size as baseball cards, so you won't be wanting for ways to store them. Like baseball cards, they can range in price from a few cents to the low thousands.
I love Pokémon trading cards, and I have collected each and every Pokémon card. They are all in perfect condition.
I am the world's number one Pokémon fan, and I have, probably with my brother's help, collected over a thousand!
I think this would be awesome to collect because they always make me happy. I'm looking for a fun hobby, definitely giving this a try!
I always put a sticker over the flap of cards when I mail them!
Stickers come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and themes. They are a very fun thing that kids or anyone can collect. Stickers can also be a wonderful thing to collect because they are easy to find. They can be found at Family Dollar, schools can award your child with them, and so on. So yes!
DVDs are not only fun to collect but also really fun to watch.
I've kept my stuffed animals from when I was a kid, and I keep getting more. They're really cheap to find at Goodwill or garage sales. They're also fun to win in claw machines (some are less rigged than others).
Stuffed animals are so cute and soft. You can play with them or have them act out scenes or talk to one another in a language you're trying to learn. They can keep you company too.
They also don't weigh a lot, so it's not a huge hassle to move them.
I'm collecting perfumes too! Same goes with CDs, video games, and dolls.
If you didn't take a shower the night before, perfume is always a good way to smell good. You can wear perfume that matches the holiday.
I collect perfume for their bottles and also because their smell is awesome.
That is a great idea! I am going to do it!
I love Beanie Babies! I started when I was 8, and now I'm 22. I still love them to this day.
My YouTube channel is about them - "Global Banknotes." Foreign currencies are awesome. You learn a lot about the country just by looking at them.
Having something from every country in the world or from many different places is fascinating, and it teaches you a lot about other countries and cultures.
This is a cheap hobby that will last a lifetime. These model cars are fun to play with, cheap, and really quite cool to look at. They are just like their life-sized counterparts, but they are smaller and don't run.
A collectible the average Joe can actually afford, since most Hot Wheels sell for $1-5, with $1 being the normal price. Perfect.
I collected Hot Wheels when I was a kid, too.
I always thought dolls were cool! When I was a little boy, I had them and then got rid of them when I was called names. But now I started collecting again!
Dolls just bring happiness to little girls and big girls because they understand you when you're sad since they're always there for you.
I love dolls. I collect many of them.
Old military WWII Silver Age comics are through the roof. Price Golden Age comics on eBay. Golden and Silver Age comics will never lose value because there are fewer and fewer in quality condition available year after year. Preserve your paper, people!
Comic books are the greatest things ever! You get to go to a whole other world, and you get to see action, adventure, and excitement! Plus, they'll be worth a ton in a few years.
Comic books are awesome, and they are valuable too, especially those Golden Age ones! But even if you don't read old ones, you can still get reprints.
The special thing about vinyl records is that you can find music you can't hear otherwise. Original pressings of classic albums typically have the highest dynamic range (related to sound quality) compared to most CD reissues, which are typically compressed and louder by comparison.
The nostalgia of vinyl records is buried within every one of us who lived through that era. Even if you didn't, it is still awesome to look back at the culture and art of the past.
Man, I wish I lived in the '60s. I was born in 1997 and ended up being a 21st-century kid instead, but I still love collecting records all the same.
