They are at odds with a rival gang, and later Fernando tries to prevent a gang war. He is later shot and killed while saving his brother Tito from a rival gang member. Tito is devastated and vows revenge, but Albert sets him straight, telling him Fernando died trying to save him. If he retaliates, then the rival gang will retaliate and kill him, making Fernando's death meaningless.

One of the gangs friends Melinda gets mixed up with a group called the Double Cross who are basically a hate group who are prejudice against other races other then their own and making matters worse the leader plans to vandalize a Jewish synagogue later that night.

The Gang's friends Francie and her brother Beau get into an argument as Beau lets it slip that she's adopted by their parents and when she confronts them about it and is heartbroken to learn that Beau was right and that she was adopted which leads to her to be depressed and gets put in danger when she falls into the river leading to Beau and Albert to come to her rescue after which her and her family are reunited and prove that even though she's adopted they love her regardless.

Weird Harold becomes addicted to a Brown Hornet video game at the arcade and begins spending all of his money on his addiction and later resorts to stealing the gang's picnic money and later gets a job at the arcade to pay them back for the picnic money.

The Gang's television set gets stolen by a teen runaway Greta who sold it for what little money she can get and is reveled to be part of a gang Albert tries to help her change her ways by talking her to Mudfoot who tells her the story of Hansel and Gretel hoping it would get her to return home to her family she doesn't and soon runs afoul with her gang who want her to help them steal some bicycles luckily Albert and the police show up in time and Greta later makes a much needed phone call home.
