He can unite the tailed beasts willingly, can influence a person's decisions through his will and ninja way, and he created a jutsu that combines Rasengan with the Wind Style, a feat that Minato Namikaze couldn't do. It cuts its opponent through sheer destructive power, attacks at the cellular level, and severs chakra lines inside the body. He mastered Sage Mode, something that even Master Jiraya, the Toad Sage couldn't do, and he controlled Kurama long enough to befriend him. Hands down best ninja ever. A ninja is not measured by the number of jutsu he can wield, but by the way he uses his/her abilites to help others. Naruto Uzumaki leaves the others in the dust.

Come on guys. Right now the resurrected Madara is the ultimate badass. He has eternal Mangikyeu Sharingan and Rinnegan, can do anything that Nagato could and more. He also has the Senju DNA and so capable of using wood techniques. He can control the tailed beast. Although he is very arrogant he is also very intelligent. Right now no one can take on him alone, except Rikudo Senin (But come one that guy is considered a god). Although perhaps Minato AND Hashirama could put up great fight. I won't vote for Itachi because Madara can do anything he can. Except for Genjutsu perhaps but oh well Madara is still stronger.

Oh, come on people. It is not about who your favorite character is (Naruto Madara Hashirama Itachi).Vote rationally. It is obvious that Hagoromo is the strongest and I admit it eventhough he is not my favorite one. He went from Byukugan to Sharing and finally Rinnegan. He is so powerful and Naruto's power equals not even half of Hagoromo's. Only if Naruto and Sasuke combine their powers do they have some possibilities of beating him (even though they would never fight). And I am annoyed that Itachi is so high. He is my favorite character together with Sasuke but definitely not the third strongest.

Dude how can The Sage of the Six Paths not be the most powerful? Even the real Madara reveres him as a god. He defeated and sealed the Juubi into himself in a time where there were no ninja! He spawned the two most powerful ninja tribes, the Uchiha and the Senju, and he was also the first person to awaken the Rinnegan. He united the ninja world, discovered the secrets of yin & yang chakra, and created the 9 tailed beasts using his Creation of all Things jutsu. He INVENTED the ninja way. No one will ever match his power.
Itachi Uchiha

Itachi Uchiha is a fictional character from the manga and anime series Naruto, which was created by Masashi Kishimoto. He is a member of the Uchiha clan and plays a key role in the series' storyline. Itachi is widely recognized for his complex character and significant influence on the plot.

Itachi is simply strong. It was obvious Tobi feared him and eventhough tobi wanted to attack Konoha, he knew Itachi would prevent him from doing that so he had to find a way of getting rid of Itachi and he knew Itachi's only weakness was Sasuke, so he easily manipulated Sasuke. Even Madara acknowledged the strength of Itachi and would not want to fight Itachi. Itachi will take down Naruto in seconds if he wants to and Sasuke is a piece of meat to him. Even Orochimaru admitted that the combination of himself and Sasuke couldn't take down Itachi. He was the only one who couldn't be controlled by Kabuto during the resurrection, even Nagato was controlled controlled. Itachi is in the same class as the sage of the six path, the first hokage and madara as he is a self-made ninja, no one had to give him power or train him. This dude was the head of ANBU at age 9, can you beat that?

If you ask me I think that Naruto isn't necessarily number one if the entire series. He is a main Character but I think that the strongest of the entire show itself is most likely Hashirama. He a has never lost a battle against the so called strongest ninja of all time Madara and has Wood style. The senju are a pretty powerful clan too and Hashirama is the first hokage. It was also said in the show that orochimaru feared hashirama during the meeting with The reanimated kages and sasuke and his squad because hashirama could break his bindings at any moment. So in my opinion Hashirama is #1

Hashirama was probably the 2nd most powerful ninja ever to live beside the Sage of the Six Path. His weakeness was his compassion which is why people do not fear him as much as they would Madara. The manga clearly shows that the Uchiha was a 2nd rate clan next to the Senju while Hashirama was their leader. Yet Hashirama always thought of Madara as his elder, respected him, and even wanted him to be the 1st Hokage. This man has it all, UBER chaka, Unlimited healing powers, Incredible ninjutsu, and a powerful heart; cares about everyone deeply, even his enemies.

Well after all leaves are open, Minato cannot remain at the topmost echleaon as long as raw power is considered, but that was never his forte to begin with. Minato's lightning-fast self re-positioning and top-tier Uzumaki level sealing skills literally makes him virtually untouchable. Manipulating battlefields in a rapid yellow flash and sealing and teleporting entire biijus and bijudaamas is what we know him for. It will be a regret we could not see much of his battle. He came and went like a flash before we could understand properly kekeke.

Tobi

Obito Uchiha, also known by his alias Tobi, is a fictional character from the Naruto universe. He was created by Masashi Kishimoto and is a central antagonist in the series. The Naruto franchise includes manga, anime, movies, OVAs, video games, and various forms of merchandise.

I really love Obito! He shaped Kakashi into what he is. It was him who instilled Kakashi the value of his comrades, that there's more to the rules and that he would crushed this so called idea of shinobi.
Obito made Kakashi realized that there's more to shinobi than rules.
Most of Kakashi's quirks stemmed from the fact he copied most of their personalities as a tribute to his team. Obito had such great influence on his outlook in life and passed it on to his students.
Obito went as far as saving him for the final time and Kakashi even acknowledged and honor Obito's memory as his HERO.

This guy deserved to be at the top list. His MS ability is just awesome. He can even kill Kakashi in his dimension if he wanted to. He just hold back to lure him into piercing his heart to destroy Madara's cursed seal. He is important character in the story without him Kakashi would never earned a reputation for the sharingan. Obito overall is the coolest Uchiha not to mention he did end up getting a happy ending with Rin in the afterlife!
Sasuke Uchiha

Well if Naruto is 1st, then Sasuke should be tied or second. Most people don't vote him because he's a jerk and I agree. It's understandable, but it goes against the point of this poll. Though this bull crap about Sasuke and Madara being able to whoop Naruto annoys me. Example: someone said Madara defeated the Five Kage and Naruto cannot. Well Madara was an Edo Tensei zombie which gave him an advantage though he would've still won. However, Naruto could've also defeated them after gaining the Sage's yang power. Another example: someone said Sasuke could control the Nine-Tails and defeat Naruto. Has this person read the ending? Sasuke duked it out with Naruto and they tied. So no he is not stronger. The gist of this rant is, don't make judgments mid-anime or mid-manga depending what you do (probably anime). Make the assumptions of who is stronger at the end.

He chose to invade a village without a tailed beast or huge army, completely obliterate the village, created the moon, and was still capable of reviving everybody he killed afterwards. Oh, did I mention that he is in a wheel-chair like contraption? Alright, let's recap. Itachi decimated his clan (with help) and Madara fails to usurp the throne, Nagato effaces villages from maps. Enough has been said. It's not like he is the leader of a league of S-rank missing ninjas. Oh wait...

Uzumaki descendant blessed with the Rinnegan, powers of the Sage of Six Paths, and can attack using six different bodies. When revived in his prime, he used all abilities in his own body. He was able to revive hundreds of people at the cost of his own life. As the leader of the Akatsuki, he won the civil war in the Rain Village.
Tobirama Senju

He's truly a genius! He has created so many jutsu, some of which, if they didn't exist, the series would be so different. He was the fastest Shinobi of his time, and as a Senju, had huge reserve of chakra. He could pull of a jutsu that even the Sharingan couldn't track. Now that's powerful.

He discovered many kinds if jutsu so I believe he is powerful also he is a hokage..and also using teleportation just like minato namikaze...

The Third Hokage, called the "God of Shinobi" in his prime. He mastered all forms of shinobi combat. His various types of ninjutsu include sealing techniques, shadow clone techniques, fire style, earth style, shurikenjutsu, and summoning jutsu. This earned him the title of "Professor." Even in his old age, he was able to fight Orochimaru, the First Hokage, and the Second Hokage.

It said in the manga, in his prime he was the strongest hokage and strongest of all the kages. The author of the series said he was the strongest. That makes it less opinion and more fact. We only saw him fight when he was old and worn out, yet he was still on par with other S rank ninja in that state.

Jiraiya was a powerful ninja and respected by all. Under his protection, Naruto was always safe. Two of the most powerful ninjas of their times, Itachi and Pain held Jiraiya in high regards. Itachi with Kisame at his side said that a fight with Jiraiya would have resulted in all of their deaths. Pain meanwhile commented that the his battle with Jiraiya would be truly hard Jiraiy known about the his true secret; meaning the true workings of the six paths and the use of clones. Not only that, he was powerful enough to be considered for the title of Hokage over Tsunade however turned it down. Also, his students were all Hokage level ninjas (I.E. Minato, Kakashi, "Pain" etc. )

Honestly I think Kaguya should be #1. It's true that nobody really likes her, but that doesn't stop her from being the most insanely powerful ninja of all time. It took the combined force of Naruto AND Sasuke, both enhanced with those special powers from the Sage of Six Paths, AND they had a bit of help from Obito as well. That's just crazy okay! She might even pose a bit of a challenge to Saitama (although to be fair I've never actually watched opm but my cousin made me watch some of the fights on youtube. :3 ) All there really is to say everyone has already said-- Kaguya is just...

She's been defeated twice by only the most ridiculous of odds. The Sage of Six paths (the guy so powerful he transcended space time to power up Naruto and Sasuke) and his brother (the guy who also transcended space time to have a casual conversation on the moon) both teamed up to beat her the first time. The second loss was against Naruto and Sasuke with powers granted to them by the sage of six paths, Kakashi with 2 mangekyou sharingan allowing him to use perfect susanoo with full on kamui and sakura in her strength of one hundred jutsu. Also with the second fight the sage made it so sasuke and Naruto only needed to touch her at the same time to win and they barely managed to do that!

If he didn't have to spend his energy on protecting everyone else from dying, I'm pretty sure Kakashi would be one of the most dangerous ninjas. Plus it feels like he has yet to go all out on any enemy he has come into contact with yet. He's always holding back and is methodical in his attacks. And can I point out once again, he is always protecting someone from dying. Is there anyone in konoha (and probably most of the ninja world, if there was ever a Kakashi series I'm sure I would be validated in that statement.. ) that doesn't owe their life to this ninja?

To be honest I view kakashi as the biggest badass of the series everyone the group comes into contact with reveres kakashi as a legend. He is easily the coolest and funniest character in the series and he even unlocked the mangyeko sharingan with a stolen eye. In addition kakashi has never truly gone all out on an opponent being that he is always protecting a comrade like when he fought one of the paths of pain, and sauske after his fight with danzo. Due to kakashis respect and compassion for others, his humor, the respect earned from everyone in the shinobi world, and his tactical fighting prowess he can be considered one of the top ninja in naruto and, as a comment said before me, not many in Konoha don't owe their life to the great kakashi hatake.

He is definitely one of the strongest charismatic ninja's (Nuke-Nin) of all time, especially if it gets to his Art.
He has developed his own type of Jutsu (Kibaku Nendo) and perfectet it to an unreachable standard... !
No one will ever really understand what his art really meant to him and/or the hole world... But those who don't respect his Art won't ever be better then him...
He is just the best

Sasori was unbeatable. He allowed himself to die that is the only reason he is dead in the first place. His puppet style was endless. It was a shame to kill of this character at this point in the story.

He honestly had a very tough opponent. The only reason he lost was because granny Chiyo also had puppet skills. Can you name anyone in the series who can take on 100 puppets with poison weapons? I can't

Sasori should be at least in top. Deidara which was able to win over to Gaara who is on top ten was on lower against Sasori.

HE killed 3 hokage 4 kazekage without breaking a sweat. He even faced tsunade monstorous punch and it did little damage to him just breaking his mask he is so powerful itachi itself said that if he has to fight with oro in ninjutsu orochimaru will kill him easily. And he faced four tail when he was so weak and jairiya was almost killed by the four tail punch. So he should be in top three

Gaara

Gaara for one, is Kazekage, but that doesn't mean much when you're talking about legendary ninja. He is the only person to be born with a defense so powerful that nobody had touched him until Rock Lee in the Chuunín exams, and Gaara ended up winning that battle, even after Rock Lee performed a Lotus, and opened five of the eight chakra gates. Gaara even learned how to control the sand that had protected him since birth. Naruto even stated that Gaara has a better ultimate defense than The Third Raikage, that must mean something. Bottom line, Gaara deserves at least one of the top five spots for the most powerful shinobi.
Izuna Uchiha

Konohamaru is obviously one of the top three best in the series, he was trained by naruto, and mastered the sexy jutsu at a very young age. Top three at least.
