Top 10 Best Players in the 2019 NBA Finals
The 2019 NBA Finals marked an exciting matchup. Two teams, 33 players, one champion. The Toronto Raptors, in their first-ever finals appearance, faced the two-time defending champions, the Golden State Warriors.
This list highlights the best players from that historic series.
-
Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Anthony Leonard is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association. He has previously played for the San Antonio Spurs, with whom he won an NBA championship in 2014, and the Toronto Raptors, leading them to their first title in 2019... read more
I am convinced Kawhi is the best player on the court. He is an all-time great. He does whatever it takes to win and he is known for showing up against the Warriors. He has a vendetta against the Warriors and he will try to bring it out.
-
Stephen Curry
Wardell Stephen Curry II is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the NBA. He is widely considered one of the greatest shooters in NBA history and has set numerous records for three-point shooting. Curry is a two-time MVP and has helped lead the Warriors to multiple... read more
Curry had a great series against the Blazers and he will look to do it again against the Raptors. The greatest shooter in the game. If Curry does not show up though, the Warriors will have a problem. Plus, if Durant doesn't play, he might end up having to play against Kawhi Leonard.
Stephen Curry is the best player worldwide in history, in my opinion. Even the NBA says he is better than Michael Jordan, and Jordan is like a hacker in basketball.
-
Kevin Durant
Kevin Wayne Durant is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA. He previously starred with the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors. He was named NBA Finals MVP in both 2017 and 2018 after championship seasons with the Warriors.
Durant would be number one, but there are questions on whether he will play the beginning of the series, which could have a big effect on the outcome. If he does play, I can almost guarantee he will be guarded by Kawhi Leonard, which could pose a big problem.
-
Draymond Green
Draymond Jamal Green Sr. is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association. He was drafted by the Warriors in the second round of the 2012 NBA Draft. Green is a four-time NBA champion and a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
Draymond was terrific against the Blazers. It will be interesting to see if he can do that against this staunch Raptor defense. On defense, he will probably have to guard Pascal Siakam or Kawhi Leonard.
-
Klay Thompson
Klay Alexander Thompson is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. Thompson has won four NBA championships with the Warriors and was named an NBA All-Star five... read more
The 2nd Splash Bro. He will be a tough matchup as we assume he will be facing Kawhi Leonard (Iggy is back). On the offensive end, he will probably be guarded by Green or Lowry, which should be very interesting.
-
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry is an American professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association. He is best known for his time with the Toronto Raptors, where he played a key role in the team's 2019 NBA Championship victory. Lowry has also represented the United States in international competitions,... read more
Lowry had a great series against Milwaukee and he will be looking to do even better against the Warriors. Lowry will probably end up guarding one of the Splash Bros if Durant plays.
-
Pascal Siakam
Pascal Siakam (born April 2, 1994) is a Cameroonian professional basketball player for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
A four-time NBA All-Star (2020, 2023, 2025, 2026) and two-time All-NBA selection, Siakam won an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019... read more
The matchup of Siakam versus Draymond will be a difference maker. They both play similar games and they motivate their teams.
-
Marc Gasol
Marc Gasol Sáez is a Spanish former professional basketball player who currently serves as president of Bàsquet Girona, a team he founded in 2014. He played 14 seasons in the NBA with teams including the Memphis Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors, and Los Angeles Lakers. Gasol won an NBA championship with Toronto... read more
A big shot taker for the Raptors. If he can cause some problems with the Warriors defense, that would be amazing. Plus, if by some crazy miracle the Warriors get DeMarcus Cousins back, I feel confident Marc Gasol can cause him problems on both sides of the court.
-
Serge Ibaka
Serge Jonas Ibaka Ngobila is a Congolese-Spanish professional basketball player. He played in the NBA for teams including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Toronto Raptors, and Milwaukee Bucks. Ibaka won an NBA championship with the Raptors in 2019 and has also played professionally in Europe, most recently... read more
A difference maker on both sides of the ball. If he can just have a big performance in a few of these games, I feel like that could swing the series to the Raptors.
-
Danny Green
Daniel Richard Green Jr. is an American retired professional basketball player. Over his 15-year NBA career, he played for six different teams. Green won three NBA championships with the San Antonio Spurs in 2014, the Toronto Raptors in 2019, and the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
He has had a tough playoff run this year, but I feel like he will step up this series. He will be guarding one of the Splash Bros and he might be getting a lot of open looks on the other side.
-

Shaun Livingston
Shaun Patrick Livingston is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He played in the NBA from 2004 to 2019, winning three championships with the Golden State Warriors. After retiring, Livingston joined the Warriors' front office in an executive role.

Kevon Looney
-
Fred VanVleet
Fred VanVleet had a great end to the Bucks series. Look for VanVleet to expose the Warriors bench.
-
DeMarcus Cousins
DeMarcus Amir Cousins is an American professional basketball player. He played in the NBA for several teams, including the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and Los Angeles Lakers. As of 2025, Cousins has played internationally and is no longer active in the NBA.
There is no guarantee Cousins will play, but if he does, he will have a huge impact.
-
Andre Iguodala
Andre Tyler Iguodala, born January 28, 1984, is an American former professional basketball player. He played 19 seasons in the NBA and is best known for his time with the Golden State Warriors. Iguodala won four NBA championships and was named the NBA Finals MVP in 2015.
Iguodala will have a huge responsibility if he plays. He will have the honors to guard Kawhi Leonard.
