Best Books for Kids

I am not voting because I like Harry Potter, but am voting for my favorite book, "Number the Stars." This is one of the best books you will ever read. If you haven't heard of it, just read it, and you will fall in love with the book,
I read the first three books a number of years ago (I stopped after that) and I loved them all. Neither of the sequel books were as fun to read as this one was, though. I guess it was especially wondrous the first time around.
Harry Potter is the best series EVER. Hermione isn't girly and completely breaks the "girls are dumb" stereotype. And once kids start, they NEVER stop. That's how good they are.
I love Harry Potter. But it breaks my heart that Beverly Cleary's Ramona books (Romona the Pest, Ramona and Bezus, etc.) isn't here! But, everyone has differnt opinions, I guess. Also I can't belive that ALL the Harry Potter books aren't #1. Just put "The Harry Potter collention".

If you grew up having never read this (or any Dr. Seuss book) you missed out. Always a fun time reading these.
Every kid should read this book at least once, it's great!
Yes, it's a very great story, everyone should know this!
This was my childhood!

Absolutely, utterly not! Series of Unfortunate Events was one of the worst books I've ever come across! My entire class LOVE it, and force it down my throat.
I hate Mr. Snicket's (that's not even his name) writing style...constantly interrupting the natural flow of the story with his horrible narrating and explaining 'big words (note the sarcasm).' News flash: I knew what ALL of them meant. I mean, it worked for the Book Thief, but not this.
I liked the premise. Orphanened children, completely miserable, find out about their creepy uncle who attempts to marry the oldest to get their fortune - now that's my kind of story! But, alas, Snicket ruined that as well. What could have been a wonderful book was turned into a bland, overrated, piece of mindless garbage that belongs nowhere near my perfect, award-winning bookshelf...it belongs in the trash can right next to it (who puts a trash can by a bookshelf?).
What I hated most of all, though, were the characters. ...more
On the contrary to the very long essay about how much these books suck, I disagree.
There ARE memorable characters. The characters grow and develop. Harry Potter is one of the most bland characters ever. Violet, Klaus, Sunny, Isadora, Quigley, Duncan, and Fiona are all unique and individual characters.
This book series is amazing! It teaches the meaning of some vocabulary words, and gives very good clarification and examples of it. This should be number one!
Just right it has great twists end just when you think it's all good bam! Something crazy happens Klaus is a boss

This is a little bit more of a young adult book, but it IS amazing for kids who feel like they aren't challenged when it comes to books!
Read this in public school. First book I ever HAD to read that I enjoyed.
Our school had to read it, I liked the book and the movie.
I LOVE this book! My science teacher read it to my class and I LOVE IT! Pony, Dally, and Johnny are AWESOME!

A fantastic book written by a fantastic author. This is my 2nd favorite book.
It's magical in every sense of the word. I loved this book as a kid.
Amazing book. The details are fantastic.
This needs to be 1, fans vote now!

One of the greatest classics of children's literature that will remain timeless for generations to come

Harry Potter and The Hunger Games are NOT "Kids Books" While Harry Potter is suitable for audiences 7+ and The Hunger Games is appropriet enough for teens 12/11+ They aren't "kid's books" But definitely for adults and teens too! They are for all ages as long as the kids don't get scared or disturbed
I graduated high school before this entered the curriculum so I just read it for fun and I was pleasantly surprised. Then out came the movie.
May the odds be ever in your favour.
GREAT, GREAT BOOK. MANY EXCITING, SAD, HAPPY, AND MAD PARTS. INTERESTING STORY AND HAS BEEN GAINING LOTS OF POPULARITY AS OF LATE.

Don't hate me, but I thought this sucked, the movie was even worse.
Funniest part of the book:
Roscuro: "I smell...soup. Waaaaaa!"
Other rats: "Boo! Boo! Hiss!"
XD

It literally should be first place! The movie, and the book are really touching especially at the end! Shows true friendship!
I have read this book so many times I remember what happens at what time. This book is such a great children’s novel.
It great for kids
I love this book!

It shouldn't be in the top 5 or 10, but it's okay if it can be in the contenders.
