Top 10 Most Surprising NFL Teams of Week 2 (2020)

Well another week is in the books. We had some surprising performances and injuries were a common theme throughout the week with a TON of star players going down. But we still go on. Let’s discuss the big shockers of the week below.
The Top Ten
Dallas Cowboys The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference East division.

Dallas, to me, is the biggest shocker of the week. This is like Chiefs/Texans 2.0. Dallas in the first half was imploding. Nothing was going right. But then, all of a sudden, they woke up big time.

Dak was lights out, rallying the Cowboys from what looked like an instant loss. Questions surrounding Mike McCarthy are quiet, at least for now. Zuerlein was also clutch, especially with that lucky onside kick. At that point, I was certain Dallas could pull out a win after Atlanta didn't know what an onside kick even was.

Atlanta Falcons The Atlanta Falcons are a professional American football team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Falcons compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's National Football Conference South division.

Congratulations, Atlanta Falcons, you one-upped yourself by blowing a 29-10 lead!

This is honestly worse than 28-3. Just when it was getting stale, you one-upped the Texans and yourself. You had Dallas imploding in the first half. America was laughing at them as Mike McCarthy looked like he was going to be a one-season experiment. But then you just had to let Dak go off, scoring what, 40 points in one half? Surprised they aren't at #1? I don't blame you. They could arguably be the biggest surprise, but this is the Falcons. It's quite clear they've learned NOTHING from 28-3. This is what happens when you forget what an onside kick is and keep Dan Quinn three years too long.

Indianapolis Colts The Indianapolis Colts are an American football team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Colts compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division.

The Colts somehow beat Minnesota after getting exploited by Gardner Minshew. They got lucky this week. Kirk Cousins decided to revert back to the Cousins of old. The Colts' offense isn't great, but that's okay. Jonathan Taylor finally had a breakthrough game like Clyde Edwards. While it was a death by field goal for the Vikings, the Colts built a 25-point lead and gave the Vikings a beatdown that I didn't expect, honestly.

Los Angeles Chargers The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in Los Angeles. The Chargers compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division.

I honestly did not see that coming. The Bolts definitely caught the Chiefs off guard, and this was without Tyrod Taylor, who was out with chest pains of some sort. Justin Herbert was actually better than I thought. They had the upset in their hands. They HAD this game won. But answer me this: why do you PUNT on 4th and 1 in OT? Against the Chiefs? You gotta go for that next time. That's okay, even with no fans allowed, you still don't have any to begin with.

Kansas City Chiefs The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference West division.

I gotta be honest. We were on our way to losing this game. The Chiefs were playing down to their competition and were all but dead in the water. But then you realize this is Patrick Mahomes, and he doesn't go down without a fight. Slowly but surely, he clawed the team back into the game thanks to Harrison Butker making several long 58-yard kicks like nothing. Perhaps the defending champions will not have an easy road after all. Just wow, that game was hard to watch.

Minnesota Vikings The Minnesota Vikings are an American football team based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Vikings joined the National Football League as an expansion team in 1960, and first took the field for the 1961 season.

Minnesota, what was that? Yeah, your team is terrible. Kirk Cousins is back to being Kirk Cousins that everyone bashed with 113 yards and 3 interceptions, a 15 passer rating, and safeties in back-to-back weeks. Like, dear god, this game was hard to watch. You had barely anything redeeming as Jonathan Taylor ran all over you guys. Do you miss Danielle Hunter and Anthony Barr yet? Because this could be a LONG season for you guys.

Las Vegas Raiders The Las Vegas Raiders are a professional American football franchise based in Las Vegas. The Raiders began playing in 1960 as a member club of the American Football League; they have been a member club of the National Football League since the 1970 AFL–NFL merger... read more

I gotta say I did not expect that from you guys. The Saints were the first opponent to play in the brand new Allegiant Stadium, and well, the Raiders won. The new black hole didn't have fans, but I'm sure Raiders Nation loves this win. To be fair, Drew Brees isn't what he used to be. He's in the 2015 Peyton Manning stage of his career. We are witnessing the sad decline of a legend. But the Raiders may be legit now. That's an impressive win. I'll give you that.

Los Angeles Rams The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team based in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

I gotta be honest. I didn't see that coming. The Rams are somehow 2-0. To be fair, the Eagles are already severely banged up, but still, I wouldn't have believed it if you told me they'd be 2-0 back in July. I still can't tell if they're good again since it's early, but this looks promising. The NFC West is really gonna be a bloodbath battle, isn't it?

San Francisco 49ers The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

San Francisco makes it here not because of what they did on the field but because of how many players were taken off it. They are desperately challenging Philly for the most banged-up team in the league. They're already without George Kittle and Deebo Samuel. Here's a list of players they lost this week:

Nick Bosa
Solomon Thomas
Jimmy Garoppolo
Raheem Mostert
Tevin Coleman

That's a lot of big names going down. You can thank the gods you were playing the Jets and not an actual team. The Jets are so pathetically horrible you STILL DESTROYED them despite those injuries.

Seriously, was Sunday NFL doomsday or something? You guys got hit HARD. Don't worry, Week 4 will be PRACTICE SQUAD BOWL!

Cincinnati Bengals The Cincinnati Bengals are a professional American football franchise based in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Bengals currently compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league's American Football Conference North division.

The Bengals may have lost, but man, Joe Burrow looks damn impressive. Unfortunately, this is the Bengals, so they find incredible ways to lose the game. Cleveland got away with this one, but the Bengals can at least find comfort in their #1 overall pick. Please don't let him rot on this cursed franchise.

The Contenders
Jacksonville Jaguars The Jacksonville Jaguars are an American professional football franchise based in Jacksonville, Florida.
New England Patriots The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston region. New England Patriots are one of the few teams to have 5+ wins in the Super Bowl.
