Top 10 Most Surprising NFL Teams of Week 6 (2022)
Pittsburgh won? Steelers fans, rejoice as you beat the bogeyman in Tom Brady. If you had told me the Steelers would have won before this game, I wouldn't have believed you, and I don't think many people would have.
They were without their entire starting secondary, and Kenny Pickett left the game early. But then Mitch Trubisky did what he had to do to win the game. I'd take this win and run if I were you. No chance you do that if you tried 10 times.
How did Tampa lose that game? I don't know what happened, to be completely honest. Tom Brady looked off, but to be fair, so did the entire team. Suddenly this team is struggling. Just blame the O-line and Tom Brady aging.
Either way, on paper, the Buccaneers should've crushed the Steelers. They were favored by 10. But this is what happens when you expose the weak points of the boss. You exploit them, and that's what happened here.
The Jets got a legitimate win and not even close either. They won convincingly at Lambeau in 2022. The Jets are catching fire, winning 3 straight games to get to 4-2. I don't know what to make of this team, but they are young and have some underrated talent.
They ran the ball, punched the Packers in the mouth, and never let up. All I can say is don't underestimate the New York Jets. These are not the same Jets from years past.
Are the Giants good? That's a serious question. The Giants are 5-1 in 2022. The Ravens choked it away, but to the Giants' credit, they made plays when they needed to. Daniel Bellinger, Wan'Dale Robinson, and Saquon Barkley led the charge for the Giants to overcome the Ravens, and a critical Lamar Jackson interception sealed the deal.
I don't think this team is a Super Bowl contender, but Brian Daboll has this team well-coached and finding ways to win. They are a gritty team and the Cinderella story of this season.
Ok, who thought this team would be 3-3 after 6 weeks? Seattle wasn't super impressive, but they did what they had to do. Part of it was the Cardinals imploding and beating themselves, but they were respectable enough thanks to Kenneth Walker and Jason Myers.
I don't know how they're doing it, but how are they tied for the division lead? Can't this team go away? Wasn't the NFC West supposed to be good? I don't understand it.
Packers, it might be time to hit that panic button. The offense isn't working out at all at the moment, and the defense gave up 24 points in the second half. The run game is almost nonexistent. Aaron Rodgers doesn't look like Aaron Rodgers, and the defense has good stretches like the first half, but they were out of gas in the second half.
Make no mistake, Matt LaFleur isn't in the clear either. There's some blame on him as well. I don't care if it's Week 6. The fact of the matter is you lost two winnable games in back-to-back weeks. Better turn this ship around quickly and come to terms with the fact that this team isn't good this year.
Baltimore, what the hell is wrong with you guys? Why is it that you keep blowing leads? The Ravens should have won this game, up 20-10 in the second half, but they couldn't finish the deal thanks to a fumble and a Lamar Jackson interception at a crucial point in the game.
This has been a concerning trend to watch with the Ravens this season. It happened with Miami, Buffalo, and now the Giants. I don't know about you, but I think some serious questions need to be asked about the Ravens blowing leads. John Harbaugh, please step forward and prepare to face the spotlight of criticism.
Hold up. Let me get this straight. Atlanta plays a complete game, takes a 14-point lead, and doesn't choke the game away like usual? Are we in the end times? Marcus Mariota had himself a game. Somehow the offense looked decent.
Maybe San Francisco isn't as good as we originally thought, but credit to the Falcons for winning this game. Nobody saw them being tied for the division lead after 6 weeks.
Kliff Kingsbury needs to go. Arizona is in a dire situation. For a so-called offensive juggernaut, they sure don't look like it unless Kyler pulls out some offense from a hat. How did you not score a touchdown against Seattle?
You traded for Robbie Anderson since Hollywood Brown is likely done for the season. DeAndre Hopkins is coming back soon, and you need him in the worst way. If losing to a terrible Seahawks team doesn't send a wake-up call to this team, I don't know what will. Things need to be fixed now. Otherwise, it's just a lost season.
New England has dominated the Browns every single time they play, it seems. No matter if Cleveland is no longer the laughingstock of the NFL, they cannot overcome the Patriots. New England beat Cleveland in every possible way.
Bailey Zappe may have been an unknown backup, a 4th round pick from Western Kentucky, but he's made the most of the opportunities he's been given. The Patriots still have some fight in them. Best not to underestimate Emperor Belichick and his new right-hand man.
