France x England

I'm in a love-hate relationship with this particular love-hate couple.
For one, I'll hand it to the people who don't like FrUK; there is an element of unhealthy argument. It's not just the "bickering like an old couple", but also the constant trying to find flaws in the other's character. The two'd pretty much try to get under the other's skin, and that's not always the sign of a good relationship.
However, that being said, I adore the pairing stories/drawings/whatever where the two learn to stop doing that; where they actually start bringing out the best in the other. Francis could highlight the romantic and sensual part of Arthur, while our favourite Brit could tame that (somewhat lazed) devil-may-care attitude. This could bring out the fights, of course; I'm sure they both hate having their flaws pointed out. But I feel like that's what love is about: learning to better yourselves as people, together. It's not always fun learning that we're not perfect as I feel Francis and ...more

Besides making a lot of historical sense, these two just ooze chemical compatibility. They bicker exactly like an old married couple, yet you can tell they really care for each other. And the fandom is very generous to them, making them both incredibly sexy and unbelievably fluffy.

The love/hate relationship and the bonds they had in the past cannot be ignored! From childish teasing to sexual denial, this couple has great aspects! This couple is cute, sexy and undeniable!

I will always love FrUk. The fact that those two can bring out the worst in each other and yet haven't pushed each other right over the edge yet; the fact that even after all these years they're still returning to one another, still competing - well, not only does that make for some truly fantastic UST, it's also absolutely adorable. They have such a rich, shared history, and that for me is impossible to overlook. They're polar opposites in every way: France is the suave, sophisticated artist and England's the scruffy and foul-mouthed pessimist - but when they're together it's impossible not to note how similar they are. Example: England grows out his hair to look like France's. And people who headcanon that England can't speak French, don't forget French was England's official language for over three hundred years, before America was even thought of.

Yes I understand why UsUk is popular. Franada too. There are so many fics of those two pairings on double-dates and stuff like ...more

I fell in love with FrUK from the first sight. Seriously, this pairing has everything, what I'm looking forynamism, rivalry, passion, maturity, angst and fluff at the same time. Through strifes and wars, Francis and Arthur are for me the closest allies;they pretend to the World, that they hate each other, but inside, in the bottom of their hearts... Feel strong admiration, respect and understanding for each other. No, FrUk is not only Hundread Years War;in XX century there was a really big boom of anglophiles and francophiles, French were more interested in English culture, and English in French, of course don't forgetting about Entente Cordiale, which was a sign of friendship and forgiveness. Winston Churchill called France, Our dearest enemy". For me Francis is the only person, who really understands Arthur;they know each other from the start, passed through hard for them moments;I believe, that their forgave each other for caused hurt. FrUK is not a abusive relationship:France is ...more

France and England are one of the very few Hetalia pairing's who share LOTS of history together; nearly 1000 years in fact. Therefore, they would definitely have the strongest connection out of any other ship involving France or England. They have grown up together, been through all the good and bad together, teamed up together in every major war and have raised America and Canada together like a little family. They may argue, but after so many years, they know each other best in how to please and displease one another. But teasing is more fun when it comes down to it. After all, they haven't been war enemies for over 200 years, so nothing's wrong with some friendly competition for old times sake right?

I think France and England are perfect for each other. I mean, think about it. There are so many things they know about each other that no one else knows. For example, France is the only one who knows England can't swim. The relationship between France and England is amazing, and I love it! It's unpredictable, and crazy! Sure, they fight, a lot, but what couple doesn't? They may act like they hate each other, but have you noticed that if you see one of them, you will most likely see the other? I'm not saying you always will, because you won't, but they are together a lot. FrUK FOREVER!

After all the time they've spent fighting, I honestly think they're insults just bounce off each other really. Since they both tend to be more composed in public (France manages it better though) they kind of need someone who they can fight with, just to keep them on their toes and get their blood pumping. And no one can do it better than France/England, respectively. Having spent so long together and having known each other for so long something about this ship just strikes me as so mature and deep. They have a real bond. Neither of them would admit it, and England would be especially furious/flustered/tsundere about it, but they'd miss each other. Be it talking, fighting or just looking at them they'd feel incomplete. I mean, they're together so often! A little bit of advice, if you hate each so much then you should stop hanging around each other and needlessly bringing them up in conversations. Normally people who hate someone just steer clear of them. Oh, and I don't think the ...more

FrUK is, definitely, the best couple out there. They can adopt any facet they want to, from their cute relationship as kids (teasing each other constantly) to the serious fighting, to hate, to friendship, to the always funny teasing and of course the drama. I actually think England need someone to argue with, to fight with. And the only one who can do it properly, is France.
It never gets boring, as it has all aspects one could look forward to in a ship.
And the relationship between England and France in reality (I mean, besides of Hetalia) is extremely interesting. Both from an historical point of view and from a sociological one.

(Sorry for the English, I'm not sure if I can speak/write in it properly.

This is a beautiful pairing. They've known each other almost all their lives and try to act like they don't like each other when they do. France is probably the only one who truly loves England for who he is... England loves him back but won't show it since he is afraid of what others may think of him. Without these two being a pairing, there would be no America and Canada either. Canada and America are like their children, and France and England are the married couple. Let this couple be forever happy (and canon) VIVA LA FRUK!

Love and hate are both such strong and deep feelings we can barely say when one ends and the other begins. And FrUK perfectly represents this kind of relationship. They hate each other, but still they have a history of about 2000 years together. They hate each other, but both know they can count on the other one when they really need it. They, simply, couldn't live without being together.

How could you find a pairing better than FrUK? They grew up together, they live close together... It just fits. There are hints all over the place in Hetalia! It even says in Paint it White: "But deep down, they live each other -- sexually. " Neither of them tried to deny it! At least semi-cannon, I can't believe it's not higher up! As for USUK, I think of it to be more of a brotherly thing. As much loved as it is, I will never understand why so many people love it.

What is not to love about them. Yeah so what my opinion is short, just hear me out. It's a very obvious pairing, and being British means that I understand the relationship Britain has with France. Why does it matter that they have always fought wars? They have an alliance greater than any other, and that sense of trying to prove who is better. Does it need to be explained, when even in 'Paint It White' it was kinda confirmed with the pictonians judging of their relationship, if even the creator goes along with it?

They just have great chemistry, what can I say? They fight, they act buddy-buddy every now and then, as well as the fact that they have a lot of past together. Their personalities grate on one another, yet they can still get along. It's an adorable couple!

Come on. They have so much sexual tension between them IT CANNOT BE UNSEEN. In my opinion, this is one of the greatest hate-pairings ever. The claim to loathe each other, yet they spend so much time together. I don't believe in "canon pairings" in Hetalia, but this is quite damn close to be canon.

Honestly, this is one of the best ships in Hetalia. These two have so much history and have always been in each other's lives. The fact that neither chose to abandon the other even through war makes it all the sweeter to me. I used to ship USUK but now, I see that the two only see each other as brothers and USUK isn't nearly as close. In my opinion, France and England make the perfect couple. Not only because of the many hetalia episodes/comic strips about them but also about the two countries in real life. The point, I think is that these two have been in each other's lives too long to live without the other. I think that both Hetalia and actual history speak for that.

Beyond France's obvious fiscal attraction for England, we can see that they have a strong bond, maybe the strongest in the series. They grew up as children, and France assisted and helped England, and even if he didn't want to, he showed us that he liked France (physically too, I mean, do you remember when he wanted France's hairstyle because it looked good?)

They argue like two shy dorks that don't want to show how much they care about each other and are almost an old married couple.

FrUk for life, I regret nothing.

I personally love this pairing so much, for so many reasons, but the most prominent reason that I can think of is simply that they really couldn't live without each other. They're basically the classic "Girl/boy-next-door" type pairing; grew up together, irritate one another, but still love each other unconditionally.

It's just perfect. They fight like any other couple, insult like any other couple, but if you have the brains to look deeper within their character context (ex: England growing out his hair after France insulted him), you'll see a so close to canon pairing that deserves more love!

In my opinion, France and England make the perfect couple. Not only because of the many hetalia episodes/comic strips about them but also about the two countries in real life. Yes, I know that they did fight a lot in the past but now they are on good terms with each other, even building and underwater tunnel to connect the two. They are always there to help each other no matter how much they pretend to hate each other.

Also, in the anime it is practically cannon. (seriously they act like an old married couple it is adorable) With examples like the Paint It, White! movie, the Hetaween episode, and that one episode where England was sick.

This was my very first Hetalia Yaoi pairing that I got addicted too. I will never let America top England... As a matter of fact, I don't like him all too much. - Roshia-Chan

Their relationship has built over all the years they seem to have spent together. I think it's more or less canon because of all of the 'none too subtle' hints that are shown in hetalia sometimes. I'm sure that they really do love each other, deeply...

Rivals, enemies, friends, lovers-- these guys are everything to each other. Their pairing works so well with serious or crack and Arthur and Francis just look so good together. They are both mature and they're a perfect balance too; Arthur being the tsundere that he is and Francis being a flirty playboy. Their UST is so delicious.

I honestly like how this pairing brings about the mature and sexy sides of them. I am kind of fed up of england being portrayed as a blushing, stuttering school girl in love. He was a ' pirate and was the world's largest empire for frick's sake! In this pairing, France's elegance and sleekness contrasts England's gritty and rough-around-the-edges punk side in such a way that I think is simply marvellous.

There are many types of love: philia (love of friends), scorge (love of family), agape (unconditional, selfless love), eros (romantic love) and the more recently encouraged self love. Fruk throughout their long, long lives have either shown or inspire all of these loves on one another. They have been everything to each other. Friend. Family. Mentor. Rival. Enemy. Ally. Lover. They have been all that to one another, and still ARE. I'm not kidding, it really depends on their moods. And yet, they are above all, EQUALS. Perhaps England loves America the most as family, and even if he does, it matters not. France will forever be his greatest friend, ally, rival and enemy. His greatest teacher and student in all ways of humanity and nation. His greatest love.
