Top 10 Best Years of 2010s

The Top Ten
1 2012 2012 2012 (MMXII) was a leap year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2012th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 12th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 3rd year of the 2010s decade.

If 2010 was good, 2011 was great, then 2012 was beyond great. No other year in the 2010s decade was ever like 2012. Everything peaked in 2012: music, movies, shows, sports, games, and such. As a big baseball fan and playing on a baseball team that year, I saw my first MLB game that summer. I finished Grade 6 in 2012 and felt that I had an extraordinary great school year. There may have been some rough areas in the latter part of that year, but it was a great year overall.
2013 took a slight dip in quality, but it was between 2011 and 2012, so I'd rank it as great. 2014 onwards (save for 2017 and 2018) was a mixed bag at best.

The year I played on my Wii. I know, I know, it came out in 2006, I know, but that was the year I was born, so I obviously can't remember it. I got my Wii for Christmas 2011, but it wasn't until 2012 that I properly started digging it out. I turned six that July 4th (except I'm British, so it doesn't get overshadowed), and celebrated the London Olympics that summer. My Year 1 (start of year) and Year 2 (end of year) friend group made me happy. Plus, stuff like Moshi Monsters was popular back then. My childhood peak was in 2012.

2012 was the peak of the good old simple days. Everyone was happier, cheerful, and just were being their authentic selves. Music, movies, and society were pretty much thriving compared to, let's say, 2014 when things began to go downhill, but it was more subtly noticeable compared to 2016. That's when things got very ugly from then onwards and it would be impossible to experience a better year than 2012 and backwards.

What I'm trying to illustrate here is that not only music and movies were amazing in 2012, and its not a matter of nostalgia if you notice years after go downhill due to social media and the rise of terrible music later on, the fact that 2012 had so many positives just goes to show that it was probably the best final year of the golden simple days. As we continue to hope that each new year will be better than the last, and that's something I will most certainly be hoping for despite a significant decrease I have for hope for humanity due to how many things have ...more

Here's my timeline/opinion:

1999: Born
2000 - 2003: Awesome years! Best games, best movies, best music, and best T.V. shows of the late 90s and early 00s
2004 - 2007: Great years, but not as good as the earlier years, but still had a great childhood.
2008 - 2012: These years were okay, Things were okay, Things were starting to change a lot
2013 - 2014: Bad. Things were starting to suck.
2015 - 2016: Awful. Things were getting worse.
2017 - Present: Bad music, movies, T.V. shows, etc.

2 2011 2011 2011 (MMXI) was a common year starting on Saturday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2011th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations.

2011 was amazing for me for many reasons!
1. Osama bin Laden died (he was behind the 9/11 attacks in 2001)
2. I wasn't bullied, everyone just accepted me as a normal, innocent person.
3. I had a lot of friends and had an EXCELLENT school year with nothing to be stressed about.
4. Music was AMAZING (or at least better than the music in the late 2010s)
5. All of my friends at school invited me to their special events parties etc, nowadays in 2018/19, they just don't really care about me anymore.
6. Life was much simpler!

I love 2011 so much and will forever, wish I could go back and revisit it again!

Life was really simple and fun. The music, movies, games and basically everything was better back in 2011. I had good friends and new experiences in this year. I turned 10 in the summer of 2011 (born 2001).

Best year of my life I was way more happy then I got to go on more romantic dates with my girlfriend and we had a friend who was really important to us and we miss her more then ever before.

This year was one hell of a year. Biggest thing was music was at it's peak. This honestly was an amazing year and I would go back in an instant.

3 2010 2010 2010 was a common year starting on Friday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2010th year based on Anno Domini/Common Era designations. It is the 10th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 1st year of the 2010s decade.

I hope the 2020s bring back the 1980s, 1990s or 2000s, but I don't think so, Everything rapidly started to suck in mid-2013, The final good year was 2012, early-2013 was okay but everything went downhill in mid-2013 because I got braces then and a screwed up school year. 2012 was the last good year for my life, movies, T.V. shows, music, video games, movie studios and everything, although I kinda hated that year for a couple of reasons like my cat scratches my mother, Hurricane Sandy, Sandy Hook, Movie Theater Shooting And my great grandfather died, other than that I would say the year was average since it's my final good year, so I would say the final good year was 2012, though I was born in 1999, the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and the 2000s were A! (Although a lot of people hated the mid to late 2000s), it wasn't really that bad for me, 2009 was terrible though.

It was really good. I felt like this was going to be the last good year of my life, honestly... I was in 7th grade, and it was great. The summer was so much fun. 8th grade happened, and then... November sucked. Overall, it's awesome.
My opinion on all the years:
2010 - Awesome (until November).
2011 - My life went to hell. TERRIBLE!
2012 - I almost ended myself... TERRIBLE!
2013 - I became someone I wasn't. BAD!
2014 - It got a little better. Good overall.
2015 - BAD!
2016 - 50% good, 50% bad.
2017 - GREAT!
2018 - Good.
2019 - BAD!

My opinion on the 2010s so far:

2010 (9/10): best year ever, hands down. great music, good movies, and my life was going great.

2011 (8.5/10): this was also a great year, for the same reasons as the previous year. this year would be the runner-up as best year of the 2010s so far.

2012 (3/10): this was actually a pretty bad year. bad stuff happening in my life, and bad stuff happening in the world (Sandy Hook, Hurricane Sandy, etc.). the only thing I miss about 2012 is the music and the summer.

2013 (5/10): I didn't really care for this year either. it wasn't a bad year by any means, it just wasn't as great as 2010 and 2011. plus, the music that came out this year wasn't as good.

2014 (6/10): this was a good year and a bad year: good year music-wise (a nice improvement from 2013, if you ask me), and semi-bad year when it came to my personal life (though nowhere near as bad as the next two years would be).

2015 (5/10): good and bad, but mostly ...more

I sometimes hate being a teenager in the 2010s which makes me think I was 13 in 2013. :'(

I sometimes wish I was born 10 years earlier in 1989 so I could be 13 in 2003 and 30 in 2020.

4 2018 2018 2018 (MMXVIII) was a common year starting on Monday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2018th year of the Common Era (CE), the 9th year of the 2010s decade, the 18th year of the 21st century, and the 18th year of the 3rd millennium.

This year was just a full blessing to me. The holidays, vacation, the hottest summer, last year of school, met a new girl at the beginning of summer and she is just an angle sended by god himself, so many good music dropped and I was on a festival for the first time. The 4 years before are nothing compared to this great year.

This year is pretty okay. Nothing exactly memorable has happened to me though. School just ended so I hope that things will get better. Though they'll probably get worse towards the end of the year because the end of the year always sucks for me.

I turned 13 in 2018. We would just hang out all summer during the heatwave. I made so many great friends in 2018 as well. Compared to 15-16-17, 18 was by far the best, at least on a personal level. It was a great year for me up until late on in the year when I started the courses for my GCSE exams, way more stress, and 2019 is already turning out to be terrible.

This year was the peak of late 2010's culture and I have such great memories of it. Movies like Black Panther and Infinity War and all of the great new memes that came out that year will always hold a special place in my heart.

5 2015 2015 2015 (MMXV) was a common year starting on Thursday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2015th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 15th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 6th year of the 2010s decade.

2015 was so lit. Like it was an amazing year for filmmakers (five films passed the 1 Billion mark, 3 of them earning more than 1.5 Billion in the box office). We also finally saw Jurassic World and Star Wars: The Force Awakens (my new favourite Star Wars now).

It was before the turmoil of the 2016 U.S. Presidential election (Trump was a meme in 2015, no one cared about Hillary).

This was the pinnacle of vine. When we didn't worship our trends (although we might have overused them).

For me, this was an amazing year. Me and my friends did the most amazing things during this year. It was before the huge let-down of 2016.

I guess this would be the happiest year of my life.

Such a bad year. No, it never should have happened. I wished there were more people who thought negatively of it. I know this is the wrong place to talk about it and I'm better off posting in the 'worst years' list, but I think this is an exception. If you ask how is this year bad, let me ask how was it good? Yes, nothing good happened in this year at all. Though the last 1 1/2 months were fair, the year as a whole was bad and everyone should not like it.

Because I was in 5th grade and I had so many great friends. Sure it could be better but the school I was in was the best! Except for like some of the people where they came from 'cause it was in Washington so you know. And movies last year were really memorable. Like Big hero 6 and frozen I think even though I don't like it. I also learned in this year how to solve a Rubik's cube. So it was my personal best.

This is the last good year I'll ever have. I had lived in a mobile home lake house thing and it was so trashy. I had lived in it for 8 years! We had talked about moving ALL the time and in May of 2015, we moved to a better country city with a beautiful surburen home! I have only seen my Papa once in my life so we went to California to meet him! On the way, I got to see Steven Spielberg! We didn't meet but I think I saw him in his car..I went to the best school district in town and met my BEST FRIEND! (We have been friends for 3 years now! ) I loved the music and it's hard to explain how much I want to go back and start this year over again. But, 2016 my step grandfather died. I was closer to him than my real grandfather in Cali. I was in the crown plaza hotel when the Dallas shooting happened. I saw a cop die I front of my eyes! Then, in December, my mom commit suicide. I'm only 9 years old and all the years from 2010 to 2017, 2010 to 2015 were the only good years. Now I am always mad ...more

6 2019 2019 2019 (MMXIX) was a common year starting on Tuesday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2019th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 19th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 10th and last year of the 2010s decade.

This year was awesome! The most anticipated game for Nintendo Switch got released, I was at my best for videos, and other things!

However, I found two abysmal cons:

The memes were at its worst

September 20th of this year SUCKED! I was looking for random stuff until I saw something that won over my curiosity. I opened the website, and I saw what scarred me for life (And also almost ruined my childhood). Since I don't want you to experience the same problem, I won't say what it is.

But at the most, this year ended the decade greatly!

2019 - Insanely the worst year of my personal lifetime!

Reasons:

1. My bus driver being late on January 2nd (on September 23rd also, I got home late for snack)

2. Uber accident on March 27

3. So many celebrities dying (I know my mom tells me that I don't know these celebrities, but still.. it's still sad to see them go :'(... )

4. Dora and the Lost City of Gold

5. Fatal train accident that happened in Denmark on January 2nd

6. So many mass shootings (Just like 2017)

7. My bus driver from June 5 did not have the right directions to my house

8. My bus driver from September 3 took me to school late which forced me to run behind in my routine schedule at school

9. I was non compliant during Reading Mastery (Mostly because I had a cold and I took a day off on September 13)

10. My stomach hurted over the weekend so I had diahreea on Saturday

Though 2018 and 2019 felt a little bit the same as 2017 regarding ...more

Here's my timeline/opinion:

1999: Born
2000 - 2003: Awesome years! Best games, best music, best movies and best T.V. shows from the early 00s
2004 - 2007: Great years! But not as good as the earlier years, but still have a great childhood.
2008 - 2012: These years were okay, Things were starting to change a lot
2013 - 2014: Bad! Things were starting to suck.
2015 - 2016: Awful, Things were getting worse.
2017 - Present: $#! tty music, movies, T.V. shows, etc.

October 25, 2019: American Dream Meadowlands shopping mall opens up near New York City. Congratulations. More shoppers will be shopping for more stuff with money coming out of their pockets. Mo' money, mo' problemz.

7 2016 2016 2016 (MMXVI) was a leap year starting on Friday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2016th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 16th year of the 3rd millennium, the 16th year of the 21st century, and the 7th year of the 2010s decade.

I know everyone says that this year totally sucked, with many celebrities dying, Donald Trump getting Elected and so much more, but for me, this was probably the greatest year of my life. a lot of great things happened to me in 2016: I made a lot of friends, shared great memories, and was always happy. Life couldn't be any better. 2017 was mostly a sad year for me since my grandma died and my friends ditched me for new kids, but I went on a summer trip to Europe, which totally rocked! So for me, 2016 was better than 2017

50% bad at first. Had friends betray me since 2015, and they still attacked me this year. The other 50% was fun though.
2019 - BAD!

I really hate being an adult in the 2010s! I Hate being born in 1999! I always wished I was born in the 1960s and grew up in the 1970s/1980s. It's because social media and the internet (sometimes) gives me anxiety, and that's why I avoid stupid people who think they're all that on Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Vyond (formely known as GoAnimate), Plotagon, TiK ToK (formerly known as Musical.ly), That app is trash! There's 11 - 15 year olds acting stupid on the app and lip syncing. I think the 2020s could be worse then the 2010s. The world actually ended in 2012 for me when it got to its peak!

This was bad so many bad memories, mentally abusive boyfriend, trump, fake friends, negativity and 2017 and 2018 followed. So many people started to think about feminism, human rights, propaganda, anger against each other.

8 2013 2013 2013 (MMXIII) was a common year starting on Tuesday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2013th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 13th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 4th year of the 2010s decade.

Eminem released MMLP2. Snoop Reincarnated.
GTA V and the PS4 came out.
It was the year when there was enough technology but no too much. Social media was at its peak before it became too much a part of our lives and before censorship.

Pros:
-Watched my favourite animated movie that year (you should know what that is if you know me well)
-Had a lot of good behaviour
-Did tons of cool stuff in the second half.
-Lots of freedom here as well

Cons:
-Started hearing some bad songs here
-My classmates here were probably had the IQ of rocks that time
-A bunch of minor annoyances here and there.

And that's it, yeah, the cons were kinda minor. I had no idea I liked that year that much, I thought it would be just 'meh' or 'average' or something. Still not my favourite year, but at least I'd say it's slightly above average.

This is the year that things started to switch from kids knocking on your door to play outside to them becoming a bunch of phone addicts and gamers. Also music and T.V. shows weren't that bad then either. We all miss those good old days.

I was born on December 30, 1999, So... My favorite years were (2007-2012) except for 2009. So I'd say 2013 was when I noticed things were starting to suck. 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 were crap and this year has nothing super exciting going on, 2020 might be great though!

9 2017 2017 2017 (MMXVII) was a common year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2017th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 17th year of the 3rd millennium, the 17th year of the 21st century, and the 8th year of the 2010s decade.

Born in 1992

To me, 2017 was the best year of the decade!

2010: It was OK. I turned 18 in that year. I spent lots of time alone and listened to lost of good music.

2011: I graduated from high school, I started to be more open to people and made new friends. Finally, my parents got divorced, which was good for everyone. 7/10

2012: It was an amazing year! I met lots of new people, and I was hanging with lots of international people. It was the year, when I moved to the UK as well. 9/10

2013: It was quite a difficult year. My granddad passed away. I was depressed and I spent most of the time alone, while being abroad. I had to manage my life and grow up and someone broke my heart... 3/10

2014: pretty average year. Working and hanging out with my lovely British friends in the UK. 7/10

2015: was a very good year. I moved back home, and started uni. I met new people and rebuilt my friendships. I joined a completely new group of friends. ...more

I loved this year. I had more than 1 friend (unlike now), I was actually happy (unlike now), and everything was exciting. Here is my ranking of the years of this decade.

2019 : By far the worst year of the decade, all my friends are gone, depression has kicked in, and nothing special has happened. 2/10
2010/2011 : Considering the fact I was born in 2007, I can barely remember either of these years.
2018 : Pretty decent year, and everything was good until October. 6/10
2013 : Nothing special happened besides my cousins moving in with us. 7/10
2015 : Good year all around. 7.5/10
2014 : I made too many memories this year, but that is a good thing. 8/10
2016 : Phenomonal year. The war against my worst enemy, I made lots of friends, and Youtube was actually good. 8.5/10
2012 : Though I was only 5, I had so much fun in 2012, that I would sacrifice my belly button to go back. 9/10
2017 : Easily the best year of my life. I got to see my friends constantly, I ...more

This or 2014 for me, even though 2017 was only 2 years ago, I had a lot less to worry about. I'm 17 now and was 15 in 2017 so I didn't have to worry as much. And then 2014 (I was 12 in 2014)was just a great year in terms of going to concerts for me, finally allowed to play games like Halo, and Call of Duty. And how much I was starting to really play guitar (which is my passion) consistently, and start consistently watching YouTube, I had obviously watched it in the past but this year is when I started to find certain you tubers loved at that time (jacksepticeye, smosh, jontron etc.) so this or 2014

Epic! The Nintendo Switch got released, most of the movies were either excellent or decent (The Emoji movie can go to hell), and even though Hurricane Maria struck Puerto Rico, the hurricane brought so many changes to my life!

I started doing good comics, I started to come back to DS gaming, I played with my friends for lots of times.

This is a year to remember.

10 2014 2014 2014 (MMXIV) was a common year starting on Wednesday of the Gregorian calendar, the 2014th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 14th year of the 3rd millennium and the 21st century, and the 5th year of the 2010s decade.

I can definitely understand why lots of people on this site didn't like this year, though as for me, it wasn't too bad. Disadvantages first, my mother was way too strict with me that year, everyone paid too much attention to my sister instead of me, and my schoolwork was really hard. Other than that, I felt myself maturing quite a bit that year, I had fun reading/watching some stuff on the internet, and it was probably the best year for movies in the current decade. I mean it's not the best year ever (I don't have a favourite year) but it wasn't bad at all for me.

My life started coming back together this year. It still felt like a sad year, but it was outweighed by the good things.
2019 - BAD!

This year is awesome, I got a Nintendo, Mario Kart 7, and went on an awesome trip! 2014 was the year when the world started to get a little better, it was also when A Hard Days Night from The Beatles was released on bluray.

2014 was very bad, though 2017 sucked more! Strangely enough, 2017 reminds me a lot of 2014, because they were both terrible. A lot of man made and natural disasters happened in 2014 as well, A lot of celebrities died in 2014 also, I had been in the hospital a lot in 2014 as well.

2014 was hell for sure :'(
