Reagan caused the economic divide and began the decimation of the middle class. Trickle-down economics has been debunked by economists. He ignored the AIDS crisis and did not allocate any funding for research, showing no intent to find a cure or remedy.

He even wanted ketchup to be considered a vegetable for poor children relying on school lunches. He claimed that trees cause pollution and removed resources for the mentally ill. His wife, Nancy, instead of addressing the complexities of substance abuse, proposed the simplistic "Just Say No" campaign, which did nothing to address the issue.

Reagan was also involved in the Iran-Contra scandal but let Oliver North take the fall, refusing to accept responsibility. He was an uncaring sham and a disgrace of a president, rivaled only by Trump in incompetence and damage caused.
